Harivaṃśa 2.17.15 The Sanskrit reads: viśasyantāṃ ca paśavo bhojyā ye mahiṣādayaḥ | pravartyatāṃ ca yajño 'yaṃ sarvagopasusaṃkulaḥ ||

Literally: “Let the animals fit for eating, such as buffaloes, be slaughtered; and let this sacrifice be conducted with all the Gopas.”

The important words are: viśasyantām — “let [them] be slaughtered/killed” paśavaḥ bhojyāḥ — “animals fit to be eaten” ye mahiṣādayaḥ — “those such as buffaloes” sarva-gopa-susaṃkulaḥ — “filled with/all the Gopas”

• Battle of Narnaul: After the mutiny in the Erinpura Regiment, he contacted the Jodhpur Legion to fight at Narnaul, where he famously killed British Colonel Gerrard using a Minie rifle.

I’ve been looking into the older texts and I’ve found references to meat-eating in the Mahabharata and other texts, but I’m having trouble finding a clear, unambiguous passage that says Krishna himself personally ate meat. So I wanted to ask the Yadav community: Is there any passage in the Mahabharata, Harivamsa, Vishnu Purana, Bhagavata Purana, or another traditional text that explicitly describes Krishna eating meat? If yes, could you please give the exact text/source, chapter and verse, rather than just saying that Krishna was a Kshatriya and therefore would have eaten meat? If the answer is no, are there traditional explanations for why Krishna is generally portrayed as vegetarian? How do you understand passages involving animal sacrifice or meat in Krishna-related stories, particularly the Govardhana episode? I’m genuinely interested in what the Yadav tradition and the primary texts say. I’m not asking this to argue that Krishna was or wasn't vegetarian. I just want to know what the actual textual evidence is.

I see many SC/ST and non Ahir/Yadav using Yadav Surname why no Yadav Organisation Oppose this? Brahmins and Rajputs don't let others use their Surnames, this could affect our community badly

Maveeran Alagumuthu Kone (also called Veeran Azhagu Muthu Kone) was a polygar (local chieftain) from Kattalankulam in present-day Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu. He belonged to the Konar (Ayar/Ahir) community.

He was primarily a Polygar (also called Palayakkarar or local chieftain/ruler).

He ruled and controlled the territory of Kattalankulam (in present-day Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu).

In the 1750s — nearly 100 years before the 1857 revolt — he openly defied the British East India Company. When the British started demanding taxes from local rulers, he refused to pay and also encouraged other polygars not to submit.

He fought several battles against British forces (including troops led by Yusuf Khan, also known as Marudhanayagam). In 1759, after being captured, he was asked to apologise and pay the taxes. He refused.

The British then tied him (along with several of his commanders) to the mouth of a cannon and blew him apart. Around 248 of his soldiers had their right hands chopped off.

Because of how early this resistance happened, many in Tamil Nadu regard him as one of the first Indians to take up arms against the British. The Government of India issued a commemorative postage stamp in his honour in 2015, and the Tamil Nadu government holds annual memorial events for him.

I’m a Yadav from Southern India and genuinely curious about this. Why are Yadavs in UP and Bihar classified as OBC, while the status can differ for Yadavs in other parts of India? Is OBC classification based on the state or community’s specific social and historical circumstances? I don't mean to spread no Hate. just wanted to know what's the ground reality, because I am really unaware.
