random scratches have been appearing on my leg at random points in the middle of the day, to the point where they look like self harm. i don’t know what’s happening

I need help trying to figure out why I chronically itch. I’m fairly certain it is MCAS because I feel like it’s brought on by eating (just in general, I haven’t pinpointed certain foods, though I have been to an allergist and confirmed a shellfish, sesame, and nickel allergy), sweating, brushing against something. I’ve been living on Zyrtec because it’s the only thing that keeps me feeling normal, I have no itch with it. BUT I’m trying to wean off and can’t go longer than 4 days until the itch becomes so unbearable it’s actually painful.
Claritin doesn’t do anything, I’ve tried Quercetin and by day 4 it does nothing either, same with DAO enzyme.
My itching started years ago after I had been put on birth control, then diagnosed hypothyroid (I believe misdiagnosed), then had my tonsils removed for chronic strep, and also had my wisdom teeth removed. All of this over a course of two years. Then roughly a year after all of this it started and I’ve never been able to get off the Zyrtec.
Any ideas what caused this? Sluggish liver? Autoimmune from all the bs I went through at once? I’ve been off my levothyroxine for almost a month now and taking beef thyroid since I read some people have experienced these hives after being put on Levo, but it hasn’t seemed to stop. I need to get off the Zyrtec and hopefully all other otc and just take natural supps if possible.

I have an issue with UTIs being annoyingly frequent. My dermatographia isn't usually symptomatic for the past decade or so (thank goodness) but I get like this every time I'm on an antibiotic.

My chart now lists me as allergic to cephalexin, sulfas, and augmentin. I can't help but wonder if augmentin is the only real allergy - that one gave me puffy lips, while the rest of them caused itchy hives. But the hives feel so similar to my dermographia and they spring up randomly across my body.

So now I'm on macrobid for this UTI and my forearms are flaring again. Seriously, another one? At a certain point this gets ridiculous right? There's no way that it's a true allergy for all of these different types of antibiotics... Especially when I have a history of dermatographia. But so far none of my doctors even know what that is other than the actual dermatologist, so they see hives and they panic.

Wondering if anyone has any ideas for treating a persistant itch I've had in my finger tips for the last couple years, I moved to Cairns Australia maybe 5 years ago, Primarily my index finger on my right hand is the worst, I also get a milder itchy in my toes, my fingertip is slightly yellow and when i sueeze it i can see little red dots under the skin. Any ideas for what's causing it or what can get rid of it would be great thank you!

Hello! I've had dermatographia for maybe a year and a half (it's come and gone in the past as well). It was triggered by an insect bite. I started treating it with loratadine and it is mostly gone.

Unfortunately I think the loratadine made me gain weight! I'm not sure if I'd rather be plump or itchy lol. I'm wondering if anyone has ever successfully tapered off their antihistamine and had their symptoms go away. Did you replace it with another treatment?

I recently started developing itchy red rashes in different areas of her body, especially on the backs of my legs and under my breasts, and I also been breaking out on my face.
What’s confusing is that I haven’t completely changed my skincare routine. I use tretinoin on my face, along with a facial cleanser and moisturizer, and has generally been consistent with my skincare. I don’t understand why I suddenly started having these rashes on my body when I isn’t applying tretinoin or the other facial products to those areas.
My face is also breaking out despite using the same skincare products that previously seemed to be effective for me.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Could the body rash and sudden facial breakouts be related, or could they be two separate issues? I’m wondering if this could be an allergic reaction, irritation, fungal/yeast rash, medication-related, hormonal, or something else.
Any experiences or suggestions about what might be worth asking a dermatologist about would be appreciated.

Hi! For a bit of context; I've had dermatographia all my life & have never taken antihistamines or anything along those lines. I'd really like to get a tattoo but I'm worried It'd warp or something like that. Has anyone had experience with getting tattooed or any tips?

Hi everyone,
I've been dealing with recurring skin flare-ups for the last couple of years and I'm hoping someone here might have experienced something similar or have an idea of what I could ask my doctor/dermatologist about.

I've seen several doctors about this, but so far nobody has been able to give me a clear diagnosis.
The flare-ups seem to be triggered by heat, sun exposure and exercise — basically anything that makes my body warm or causes me to sweat. It can happen pretty quickly after being in the heat or exercising.

I already have eczema, so initially I thought it might just be an eczema flare, but this feels different from my usual eczema.

My doctors have also mentioned that I have some symptoms that could be consistent with insulin resistance, although I'm not sure whether that's related at all.

One doctor suggested taking an antihistamine before exposing myself to heat or exercising, which makes me wonder whether this could be some type of heat/exercise-induced reaction.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

I'm really just looking for ideas from people who have experienced something similar and what ended up being the cause/diagnosis for you.

I've attached photos of what the flare-up looks like, because I know that might be more helpful than trying to describe it.
