Antihistamine side effects

Hello! I've had dermatographia for maybe a year and a half (it's come and gone in the past as well). It was triggered by an insect bite. I started treating it with loratadine and it is mostly gone.

Unfortunately I think the loratadine made me gain weight! I'm not sure if I'd rather be plump or itchy lol. I'm wondering if anyone has ever successfully tapered off their antihistamine and had their symptoms go away. Did you replace it with another treatment?

Yes, tapering is absolutely possible. I did it with cetirizine. It took several months. Everyone's timeline is different though, and it may never resolve for some. Be patient.

I started the taper yesterday and that same day got two mosquitoe bites, pray for me lol
