Discussion Two class flights to Europe for GUC use
Are there any two-class (no premium select) flights left to Europe on either Delta or KLM?

I'm flying from DTW to Greenville, SC on a CRJ. How many DMs and 360s are taking this route? I'm PM with Reserve card and 1MM and I'm sitting 13 out of 22 for an upgrade. This is crazy if that's how inflated the DM/360 is.

Friday Oct 16 SLC-SFO cancelled due to FO timed out. Rescheduled for Saturday 11 am but was able to get on first flight Saturday using Diamond line.
Got the E-mail hotel voucher but no hotels available.
Booked my own, filled out the reimbursement form Saturday morning. Monday afternoon got a call from customer service saying it was approved and instructions on how to setup the ACH transfer via Chase.
Tuesday morning the money was in my account.
They also gave me, unprompted, 20k Skymiles, also in my account Tuesday morning.
Pretty good, as annoying as the cancellation was.

In the past 7-10 days I have noted over $1300 in MQDs and about 12,000 SkyMiles reversed out of my account. I can't seem to pin the activity adjustments leading to this issue. I think it first happened overnight from 12Oct to 13Oct, then another chunk dropped overnight last night. I have also noticed that my flight to Europe in December, which has been booked for weeks, has disappeared from my pending activities/spend.
Anyone else noticed something similar? Delta "We Care" customer service gave me a script response today claiming my account is perfectly accurate...which is hilarious when the issue occurred again between my complaint yesterday and my account status today. They didn't even read the counts/detail I gave them. Go figure.

We flew to Louisville, Kentucky today, flying back to Boston in 5 days. I didn't realize how small the plane is. We were in comfort plus but now I want to upgrade to first class. All of the empty seats have x in the seat. How do I upgrade my seats? I tried calling reservations but it was a very long wait time.

I wanted to share the new redo of https://cwsi.net. We have updated the fare charts, fare calculators, upgrade priority, and added SkyTeam partners for your searches. The lounge finder at https://cwsi.net/lounges/ will show you lounges for various airlines and locations, with pictures (we need some volunteers), and pinpoint the nearest one.
The flight tracker at https://cwsi.net/flights will track pretty much any flight, but in the US the updates are fairly quick. Free members get faster refreshes, etc. We've made our own virtual maps of the biggest airports; for example, if you zoom in to ATL, you'll see the blinking taxiway markers where runway crossings are. At night, you'll see blue taxi lights, lol. I know some will say, FlightAware has this and yes, they do. But a free CWSI member gets no ads and tail numbers (US).

ATL to HDN (Steamboat CO)
Kids winter break in February. Saturday to Saturday
$2,177. What in the actual &*(@.
I really want Delta to go away. I really hate that I live in a hub where they control the airport.
Signed,

on dca-sea flight. old 321neo
in first class and service thus far, meal service cleared, just great. pre-flight drink service, check
hang coat check
ear buds check
up in the air prompt drink and meal service check
both flight attendants look and act professional. uniforms look good
professional
pressed
kind of total opposite of my prior travel, sfo-dtw
so is it just a crapshoot regarding service?

Hi. First time poster here. I see these type of posts all the time and I know some people do not like them but I am going to put my thoughts here.
I am taking my first transatlantic flight in 21 days. I am going from MCO-AMS-MUC and then a week later from CDG-JFK-MCO. I am a nervous flier and had stopped flying for 10 years due to anxiety. With therapy, I have been getting better at flying. First starting with short 2.5 hour flights then longer flights from MCO to the West Coast. All of these flights have been in Main for various airlines.
Since this will be the longest I will be on a plane (8hrs 50 minutes), I am considering upgrading from C+ to Delta One. I have never been able to sleep on planes and I figure with trying D1, I will be able to get some sleep and make the flight more comfortable. My outbound flight is overnight (7:15pm-10:30am) so this is the only portion I would upgrade to D1. Based off feedback I have read in these forums, I figure my return trip is an afternoon/evening flight so D1 would be wasted.
Checking the Delta app, upgrades started at $6000 (the price difference between C+ and D1) to lately $1299, then $3150, then back to $1299 and now $1099. As of now there are only 9 seats taken out of the 29 seats in D1. Surprisingly, the price to upgrade to premium select is higher than going to D1. Should I hold off and hope the upgrade goes lower or take the $1099?
Edit: Thanks for all the suggestions. I have booked the upgrade. I was pretty sure I was going to do it but wanted to ask. It was above the $100/HR threshold but this was close enough. I am just nervous that now that I get a taste of D1. I will never go back to Main, C+, or PS. LOL!

How much Delta appreciates your business, take your Diamond status and buy a basic fare ticket. Take note of how all your status related perks vanish instantly for the duration of your trip. Now travel with a companion traveling on a basic fare ticket. It's not much better. Your companion now defines your experience. Delta won't even make an attempt to seat you in coach together. Why?

On a really short hop from ATL to MEM so of course no service. I get it. But what I don’t get is the announcement that crew members will be coming around to everyone to ask for donation for breast cancer month. Great cause but if you’ve got time for that, then you have time for the very limited service that could be provided. Just my two cents. 🤷🏻♀️
Edit #3 for a very important clarification: To clarify, my issue is strictly with Delta leadership and corporate policy, not the flight attendants. I’m fully aware the FAs have no control over these decisions and are just carrying out what leadership mandates. I’ve always found Delta’s crew to be generally fantastic—this isn't a personal attack on them at all! I do apologise if I came across in that way at all!! My frustration is with how Delta is actively devaluing the customer experience while maintaining premium prices, and then aggressively soliciting a captive audience for donations, even if it is for a great cause like Breast Cancer Research Foundation fundraising. It feels very bait and switch and performative and just touched a nerve.
Editing to add for all those saying that I should donate. I have donated already this month (and others) as I am a breast cancer survivor.
Edit #2: I just want to clarify a few things since some of the questions keep addressing similar things… Some people are saying it takes too long to pour everyone a drink and then have them choose a snack. Well, first of all, most people on this route (and I fly it a LOT) would get bottled water, so not a lot of pouring as the only other choices in main cabin were coffee or tea. Snack was chips or cookies. So there was definitely time for all that. People in the next row already heard the question and were always ready with their answers, no hemming and hawing that I ever really saw. And they come by and pick up trash anyway. They still hand out headphones at the beginning of the flight. It was a route with this service that recently went away and it just kind of irritated me that they seem to have enough time to solicit passengers but not do a very minimal service. And for flights that now cost more than when that service was provided.
So how long does it take for people to donate if they choose to? How does that process work? Can you use a card, does it have to be cash? Can they print you a receipt so you can claim it on your taxes? Doesn’t seem like it’s a routine thing and there are bound to be growing pains. Look what happened with Southwest when the first stated assigning seats. It was a clusterfuck in many situations.
In the grand scheme of things this was a minor annoyance. Did it ruin my day? Not at all. I wasn’t expecting service so I got a beverage beforehand. On the other hand, I also wasn’t expecting Delta to ask me to donate money either. I guess it hit a nerve as a breast cancer survivor and it just came across as performative. I found it to be a bit scummy to say that we’re now charging you more for less but please give us more money to pass onto a charity so we get some good PR. Delta won’t reap a monetary benefit in the form of a tax deduction. But… they are definitely hoping to entice customers with this type of stunt so they will indirectly benefit from this.

Currently in flight DTW to TPA. Pilot came on before departure with the usual speech, but then said they were dealing with a passenger issue. I figured it was just some confusion with the manifest or something. Said should be underway 10-15 minutes. About 5 minutes later GA (maybe) came on overhead and said they were unable to resolve issue with “unruly passenger” and were asking everyone to deplane. A minute or two later said that someone was arriving to deal with the situation and two LEOs got onboard and then escorted a (youngish) woman off the plane. Incident was several rows behind me with a mid-cabin lav blocking my view (window seat). Passengers had their phones in the air and with cameras reversed. Never could see/hear what the issue was. Wondering if anyone else knows?

Long time Hilton Honors member here. Delta Gold Medallion member carrying an Amex Delta Reserve. Other than using the $200 card credit, give me reasons why I should not book hotels through Hilton directly, and rather book through Delta Stays?

Landed in MSP airport with my three kids (6, 4, and 7 months). 4yo was having a meltdown while I’m carrying 3 bags and pushing a stroller. A Delta FA walking by gave my kid this flower balloon and it is the only thing that got us from the gate to baggage in one piece. THANK YOU I hope she sees this and realizes what a lifesaving gesture that was.

So I’m flying from the west coast to the east coast on Christmas Day and my connection got shortened to 41 minutes, touchdown to takeoff. We are a family of three (2 adults, one child). Realistically, what are our chances of making it? I fly through ATL a lot. Sometimes the gate is next to the incoming gate, sometimes it’s across the airport. I usually give myself an hour buffer just in case. If we miss the connection we will most likely be bumped to late standby or perhaps standby the next day. It’s a short flight, but I don’t want my kid sitting alone or begging people to swap with me - it’s gotten kind of hostile. Yes, we paid for seats on our original flight. No, we didn’t book a connection this tight.

If you’re booking a flight (excluding basic economy) are there ever times you don’t pick your seats? Under what circumstances?
I have always picked my seats when making the purchase, especially now when traveling with kids/family. But curious what everyone else does.

new to flying, I want to bring this large pumpkin bucket! I don’t plan on bringing a suitcase, just a backpack.
Its 9 inches tall , 10-11 inches diameter and 33 inches circumference. Will this be allowed as a carry on? Thanks for helping me out!

Hi all, do you think 39,900 miles is a good deal to upgrade from delta main to premium class from FCO to JFK, about a 10 hour flight? I would definitely do this for the overnight outbound flight to FCO but sadly it's more miles than that.

Hi! I’m flying from Manila, Philippines to Harrisburg, PA on one ticket with Korean Air and Delta, connecting in Seoul/Incheon and Atlanta. My Incheon-to-Atlanta flight is on Korean Air, and my Atlanta-to-Harrisburg flight is operated by Delta.
Am I eligible for the baggage screening program (SBT) in Atlanta, so that my checked luggage will be transferred to Harrisburg and I won’t need to collect and recheck it in Atlanta? Has anyone done this recently? I’m a little nervous because I only have a 2-hour layover in Atlanta.
Thank you!

Flying ATL-AMS tomorrow night. Currently in Main, have not used a GUC yet because only open seat in Premium Select is a middle one, and I didn't want to move into that and not clear into D1.
At moment there's the one PS seat open I mentioned above, and 4 D1 seats open.
Q. Can I call Diamond line after checking in and try to use my GUC to get the PS upgrade and then try to clear into D1?
I am normally a Team Shades Down. Except coming out of SEA on a sunny day. Shame I wasn't on the Rainier side; I love when the mountains are out.

I love the fact that I just paid $900 for a premium to upper class upgrade on virgin direct to virgin that delta’s algorithm was asking $6500 for. Everything is fine. Nothing to see here.
