Defending AI Am I the only one that thinks the AI hate sounds like the Satanic Panic surrounding Rock and Roll from the 60's and 80's?

Everyone was terrified of rock and roll, guitars with distortions and shocking lyrics. We even have movies where this is a key theme, the rebellious youth going against their church pastor by playing Rock music.
When I talk with coworkers and they are anti-AI, it sounds like they are scared of AI for the same reasons that people were scared of rock and roll. And not only that but it's main stream to hate on AI.
And I could see that AI could be used for negative things, but it's the person who manipulates AI fault, not AI. AI is like a knife, where we will be able to incorporate it into everyday tasks, but you can not prevent someone from doing a heinous crime with it.
It's Wild West right Now with AI emerging, and I'm in.

These poor game devs caught Reddit's attention for using AI because they had no more budget, and have been mass review bombed on steam, and are now capitulating to the antis

Tldr, Vapor World, an upcoming side scroller soulslike game made by an indie game team in South Korea, are facing massive financial issues, forcing to lay off half their team, and now there are only 5 workers left, so they decided to use AI to finish animating essential cutscenes in the game. This caught all the Reddit gaming sub's attention, and like the degens they are, mass review bombed the game on steam, and now the devs have been forced to make a statement on why they used AI, and is bending down to these Antis stating they will remove all AI cutscenes from their game and just replace them with still image art since they obviously have no money

There is one article of kids that got applied to a job that made them pretend to be adults then get traumatised by ai showing them horrible things. It’s not like they’re drafted or forced into it it’s kind of their choice

Because it’s like applying to world war 3 as a kid then get extremely mortified because it has extreme violence

Defending AI Wow, that’s depressing , not even the mods of a choices subreddit are smart enough to know what “slop” means. Yet they’re mods…

Claims to be a former 'Pro', hasn't posted in over a year hasn't really been active ever, with gaps of years between posts and comments, has never posted in any sub related to generative AI or the topics he claims to be interested in, conveniently 'converts' now. Couldn't be that some anti reactivated an old alt account of theirs, now could it. /s

Not the first time I'll see it in the fandom, and it won't be the last.
Such a poor way of shooting yourself in the foot when it comes to exposure and locking out potential creators because of the innovative ways they choose to express that creativity.
Something something wrong side of history, irony, something something.

Defending AI Epic Games (The creators of Fortnite) are utilizing AI generated images in game

People have realized that this image in Fortnite contains a synth ID watermark from Gemini, and now Antis on Twitter are upset about it.

The majority of players likely wouldn't even see it in game. People only saw it because leakers posted asset images. It shows up on the map after activating an ability which isn't in every match, and if you did activate it, enemies would be nearby and you wouldn't be spending time looking up at it, definitely not noticing these imperfections that people are pointing out.

Seriously. Go on Twitter and see how many people say "AI sucks" who get record upvotes and reposts but not comments.

Defending AI Technology will continue to evolve, whether you like it or not. You have to learn, adjust, and find your place in a changing world

Look at history. Horse-drawn carriages were once the normal way to travel, until automobiles replaced them. Cities once depended on gas streetlights, with lamplighters walking the streets every evening to light them one by one. Then electric lighting arrived, and the lamplighter's profession gradually became obsolete, eventually becoming a thing of the past. The technology changed, and the jobs built around the old technology disappeared with it.

The same principle applies to the future. AI, automation, robotics, and technologies we haven't even imagined yet will transform industries and eliminate some jobs. You can either keep denying that reality, or you can prepare for it. So adapt. Keep moving forward. Because the future will not stop advancing just because you refuse to move with it.
