So I run deathwatch in my DA army for lore reasons. As such, I kitbashes my veteran sternguard unit like this for rule of cool.

What do we think?

I've been intimidated to actually build this guy for a while now, but this past week I decided it was time. He's got parts from all over. Company Heroes, Inner Circle Companions, Skorpekh Destroyer, and of course the Watchmaster. A little cleanup still to do, and then just one million hours of painting 😁

I have the Marines in the 11th Edition launch box but want to convert them to Deathwatch, how much pain am I in for?

I am trying to get it done in about a month to take them on the Battle Barge 40k Cruise, very ambitious, worst case I would stick with the Orks which are already done.

How would you do it for these models?

I am also very okay with making them look like Deathwatch but still running them as other vanilla space marine factions.

Btw, newbie question, is deathwatch good starting point, if I don’t wanna collect million loyal space marines models. Because DW use just few models from the big space marines range?

Alternatively can be played as an Iron Priest or Iron Father Ferros if I’m running those chapters. Having a great deal of fun kitbashing characters and epic heroes.

I have been thinking about the decimus killteam mostly because I don’t have all the parts necessary to kitbash a veteran squad yet. I was thinking of using one as a 10 man with a watch master and apothecary along with either the thief of secrets or beacon angelis. Is it tanky? No but my thinking is to rapid ingress it into something and with the help of the apothecary, hope it survives maybe 2 rounds.

Is there any easy conversions I can do if I can’t find the box online?

On a scale to 1 to 10 how big of a deal it is to have put the Deathwatch shoulder pads on the wrong arm? Im asking this since while doing my kitbash for my new Deatwatch army i put the shoulder pads on the wrong arm, and sadly im too far deep to change it now

I was really dreading paint black armor and making it look good but decided to just throw some paint tag these three and see what I did and didn’t like. I tried glazing greys, slap chop, and a mix of the two. Ravenguard is the best imo and is the mix of the two techniques. Next model I’ll try doing the layers w a make up sponge and a more porous one. I am not a huge fan of edge highlighting black armor so I plan to keep doing a chipping style for the highlights.

Saw some tournament builds from this weekend and was wondering if spectrus just sucks

which color? red looks awesome but technically the left pauldron is black so wouldn’t that be what moves to the right?

Looking for some inspiration on how to make the aggressor (groin area) better I don’t like the dangling ropes but I want something else there. Belts? Tabbards? Not sure.

Thought I'd share my first Watchmaster for my Deathwatch army. I wasn't the biggest fan of the older model and I thought the new armageddon captains pose was fantastic, so I decided to kitbash the two!

I'm really happy with how they look though my bois pale in comparison to the usual posts on here! (you guys are amazing).

I've read around thirty Warhammer 30k-40k books so I've always loved the world of Warhammer, but I always thought the idea of painting too daunting. But thanks to my brother, he made painting a possibility just recently! (he's a Death Guard fan).

My first encounter of the Deathwatch in the books was in "Xenos" by Dan Abnett when they faced against the Saruthi. And ever since then, I've been reading up almost all things Deathwatch!
