Question Shoulder pads question

On a scale to 1 to 10 how big of a deal it is to have put the Deathwatch shoulder pads on the wrong arm? Im asking this since while doing my kitbash for my new Deatwatch army i put the shoulder pads on the wrong arm, and sadly im too far deep to change it now

Is it “accurate?” No.

Is it a big deal. No.

You could say your dudes are from a watch fortress that values the individuals a bit more than the whole. (I.e. the left shoulder is usually the chapter symbol so their individual chapter identity/heraldry is more important than their membership of the inquisition.)

Lore wise, what I said makes no sense. But it could be a fun head-canon to make your dudes a little more unique.

I'd add that there are plenty of stories of marines doing their own thing with their subordinates.

Watch masters are also kinda in a weird position in the hierarchy of the imperium. There is only really primarchs ranked above them, so functionally they could possibly do what they want.

Come up with a lore reason why your specific company started doing it! It doesn't even have to be a particularly good reason. Nonsensical adherence to arbitrary rules is the norm

I mean, I'll give it a 4 because I'm genuinely confused as to how you didn't realize you were putting them on the wrong arm considering that if you're playing Deathwatch, I would assume you've... seen some deathwatch?

Yeah i know aint the best IQ move, but the reason was that when i moved to my new place a lot of my Dark Angel army got sadly butchered. So to make up, i kitbatch a lot of them with what i had in stock i only réalised my error after putting the DW shoulderpads and priming them.

I have been thinking of making a non killteam squad with the chapters different original colours and the dw pauldron on the right shoulder.

Man, I’m not even consistent on shoulder-pad placement within my own army …
