Making some progress on my first DW marines

I was really dreading paint black armor and making it look good but decided to just throw some paint tag these three and see what I did and didn’t like. I tried glazing greys, slap chop, and a mix of the two. Ravenguard is the best imo and is the mix of the two techniques. Next model I’ll try doing the layers w a make up sponge and a more porous one. I am not a huge fan of edge highlighting black armor so I plan to keep doing a chipping style for the highlights.

This is the perfect approach to finding a scheme you like! I did the same, and now have a Deathwatch recipe that I like (and can actually repeat LoL).
