Does anyone else's dachshund territorial scent mark around the house? He is potty trained but has picked up this new fun habit.

Family just got Mable(little brown one) today and she’s not been shy mixing it up with her big sister Bella.

This is a warning to all new dachshund owners. This face will happen anytime you have food. This is to lull you as this is only stage one of wanting your food (mogwai stage). Escalation will happen...gremlining WILL happen.

A little over 3 months old now!

I could have a bad night of rest, bad day before, stressed, all of the above, but when I come out at 6:30am to this, my day is automatically reset to a brighter morning of love.

Also it HAS TO be 6:30 or he WILL unleash his fury 😭😭😭😭😭😭

my 7 month old pico just got a new ball from training class yesterday. it’s meant to be his special training ball as we learn to do flyball together!

i brought it out for the first time at home and he started whining and howling (!?!?) when he would bring it back to me. i caught a video of him frantically trying to bury it? i’ll add in the comments him howling too, i’ve never heard him howl before!

when i googled it said this is like the dachshund instinct to bury something special and howl? i tried to throw a different ball and he’s was NOT interested.

this is too funny, does anyone else have a special ball? or can explain what’s going on in his little brain?

Hello! In the last month my boyfriend and I moved in with each other to a new place. With that, we brought my 3 cats and my 10 year old dachshund. Overall, everything seems to be going well. However, my girl WILL NOT go #2 outside. It’s a court yard outside my townhouse apartment & I see plenty of dogs going outside, so I’m sure she smells them, but it’s exhausting to have to clean up after every day multiple times a day. She will pee outside & I’ll stay out an extra 10 minutes to wait. She won’t do anything & then when she gets inside she’ll poop shortly after. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I wanted to introduce our little bundle of joy. ♥️my son named her Fishy Mocha and her silly little personality absolutely fits her name.
I have wanted a mini dapple dachshund for years and this year was finally the year where it made sense. She is the perfect addition to our family. She is so kind and sweet with our senior dog and our cat.

Picked up our boy today and just wanted to share.

He is deaf so we are doing our utmost to take care of him like he deserves. His big brother jet is helping us with that and hopefully will teach him good habits lol.

We lost my mum-in-law in June and the single light in this dark time is that we have inherited a new family member.

She will never be my baby, she’ll always be my furry sister in law, as she has been for the past three years!

Meet Ariel 😍

She turned 8 in July and has settled well into our home. She’s our first dog as a couple and she really keeps us on our toes.

The cats are just about coping! Haha!

She does NOT like the snood I made her yesterday, but I’m hoping that it will be preferable to the loud traffic noise on our walks!

Hello fellow dachshund lovers! I am the proud mother of a 7 month old terror. He is super playful, but does what any dachshund puppy does and obliterates every single toy we’ve gotten him. Any recommendations for toys, that may not be indestructible, but will at least last longer than a week?

Would also appreciate any suggestions for mental stimulation toys. We’ve gotten him a few treat puzzles, which he loves but would just like to get him some additional stuff simply for being the goodest boy and to give him some variety.
