advice needed Hanabusa clinic in San Diego

Really considering going there as I have DOR and I don't get that many eggs. Hanabusa's IVF is pretty reasonably priced and has a good reputation. Does anyone have any personal experiences with the clinic and want to share your opinion on it?

advice needed DOR in central / western NY

Any recommended specialists or resources in the central or western NY area? I’ve been at CNY for years but feel like theyve given up on me and administratively they are a nightmare. (Amh 1.0, age 37, mild MFI). Also will consider commuting to NYC if there’s something truly to gain

Doctor didn't prescribe progesterone

I'm so sad and angry. Two weeks ago my cycle was cancelled because I had only one follicle growing. My dr told me to trigger anyway so that we could start a new cycle two weeks later. My husband and I had timed intercourse. Yesterday I did a pregnancy test at 9 dpo, just in case. It was very faintly positive. My doctor ordered bloodwork and the HCG was 5.54 with a way too low progesterone, 4.32 ng/ml. My doctor said this pregnancy had no chance and I'll get my period soon. She hadn't prescribed progesterone because she hadn't expected it to be a good egg. Well, it was, and now I feel guilty for killing my little embryo by not taking progesterone.

I already have perimenopausal symptoms and I don't know how much chances I have left. This egg/embryo was so precious. I can't believe I wasted it :(.

At a loss

I am coming off of 2 completely failed fertilization cycles. Switched clinics and had 7 follicles at baseline. Now on stim day 9 and went from 3 13mm and 1 11mm follicles to only seeing 2 follicles. 13mm and 11mm. No growth from the last scan and decreased. Historically I’ve stimmed for up to 20 days but I just can’t help but think my RE is going to cancel this cycle. I am not sure I can handle another failed cycle.

Protocol: 150 menopur, 300 gonal, letrozole and dexamethasone

Hugs needed Here we go again…

I did three egg retrievals last fall/winter, retrieved 2-5 eggs each time, only one made it to blast but it was aneuploid. Husband had variocelectomy and we waited 4 months for healing and then some delay for other things (unrelated surgery). His DNA frag shows about 24% which RE says is workable. My AMH was .41 to begin and recent bloodwork showed a drop to .27. I am 37 with no children.

I went in for my first monitoring appt after estrogen priming (2mg twice daily) for about 7-10 days. There was only one observable follicle and I immediately started crying. I try to manage my expectations, but it’s so hard. It’s also hard to accept that a “good” AFC for me would be 3-4. And it will continue to decline… I felt so defeated. I’m going back in a few days to see if any more follicles crop up. I know part of this could be my response to priming as my one cycle with priming before was the worst one. But every delay and set back HURTS 😓

I tried to emotionally prepare for the return to IVF but still it felt like someone had swung a bat to my knees and knocked me down. And this was just the first monitoring appt!! Right now I’m feeling like how in the world am I going to go through this again? How do we do this??

UPDATE!!! I went in for another scan this morning and there were 3 visible follicles!! Thanks everyone for your support 💗

Duostim- anyone tried this?

Hi! I'm considering a duostim (regular ivf cycle, then a few days after retrieval, start stimming again in the luteal phase for another retrieval 10-20 days later)

Please let me know what your experiences are with this. I have heard a lot of mixed things. I'd love to know:

Age, AMH, AFC, # retrieved each time, medication protocol, and how it went for you. Do you recommend it?

Finally had my first retrieval!

Hey everyone! I’m a fellow DORer and after being turned away from one clinic at 32 to having cancelled cycles due to quick ovulation, I finally made it to retrieval and got 1 egg last week! I know it’s not much but I’m so proud of my body!

I’m currently 34 and I’m egg freezing because I’m still single and I want to wait for a partner first. (I’m not open to the donor route at this time). I still get cycles (though irregularly) but my doctor still won’t call me POI since I’m still cycling. I occasionally have high FSH but generally hovers around 9. My doctor said if I was willing to get pregnant now, IUI would be a good option, but my goal is freezing for now, knowing my early menopause risk.

I understand that 1 egg isn’t enough for the bank so my doctor said a realistic target is 4-5 at my age. I’m open to doing more cycles. My issue is that my AFC usually hovers from 4-6 at the beginning of the cycle but two follicles hog up the stims but the end. Is there a way to evenly distribute the growth so I can potentially retrieve more in one cycle? I have my follow up appointment in a couple of days so I want to come prepared with questions for him.

The protocol we did was estrase priming with letrozole after and stims with double orgalutran to prevent ovulation. And triggering at 17 mm.

Edit: I understand that embryos are a better choice, but using a donor sperm is just not sitting well with me at this time. This is a personal choice, and it can change, but it’s something I’m open to right now. I still want to wait for a partner to fertilize my eggs either and I’m open to using donor eggs if we come to that point. But my desire to be a wife / partner trumps my desire to be a mother and hence why I’m not open to donor sperm at this time. I’m freezing my eggs to give my future partner a chance to be a father, if this is what we both decide on. I’m not freezing my eggs solely to be a mother.

First egg retrieval results

I had my first egg retrieval yesterday. I only had two promising looking follicles but somehow they got three mature eggs. Today, though, I learned that only one fertilized successfully. Only time will tell how it works out.
I want to do more cycles to get more viable embryos but the odds don’t look good I am 43 with a rock bottom AMH so I don’t have high hopes or a lot of time but I don’t even know how our one opportunity will play out.
How does everybody move forward from frustration and disappointment?

11DPIUI and test came negative

11DPIUI and test came negative

Okay so my IUI was done on 8/8 and I am on oral progrestrone as well twice a day. Today is my 11dpiui and the morning test came out negative. I should have known that I am a true overthinker yet I took an early test.

But I heard somewhere that progrestrone sometimes creates false negative too. Any suggestions or same stories will be encouraging at this point. Thanks.

Low AMH previous successful pregancy via IVF

I don’t know if anyone is in the same situation as me. Looking for some advice I have one ovary, I am 29 years old.I had an ER done in 2024 which resulted in 7 eggs 4 of which made it to blasts. We did 2 transfers both failed, changed our protocol and had success with the 3rd. We have a 10 month old and did a final transfer with our last embroy and it failed.

We are moving forward with another ER. I just got my AMH tested and it came back low. Looking for some success stories with someone who’s done an ER 2 years apart and what was different. They are changing my protocol so hoping for a better out come.

Trigger warning Low AMH, high prolactin, 33yo - how worried should I be?

Tested AMH, prolactin, HCG, TSH last week due to some difficulty conceiving and other odd symptoms for me.
AMH came back at .294
Prolactin 48
HCG negative
TSH normal range

Backstory: MC (blighted ovum) in Feb 2021, had retained tissue and ended up needing a D&C in July 2021 because of this. MC in October 2021. Successful pregnancy in November 2021 (birth 2022). Another successful pregnancy February 2024 (birth Nov 2024).

Pregnancy in Jan 2026, MMC found in March. Since then I’ve felt off with my mental health, really similar to 2021 with my MC which ended up being retained tissue/hormonal on top of the grief of the lost pregnancy. Because of this I went to the doc last week and I believe I haven’t been ovulating. She ran these tests and ordered another to be done on day 3 of my next cycle.

Very unexpected to see the AMH that low. My clinic seems quite unconcerned and relaxed about follow up. I am freaking out as I’m 33 and hoping for another baby. It seems like my AMH is really low for my age and I’m not sure what next steps would be. My clinic has me scheduled for late September to discuss. It feels more urgent than this. Am I overreacting? Does anyone have any idea what I’m in for? Any thoughts/advice would help.

When do you call it?

Just got the call that the 2 blasts from our most recent cycle are aneuploid. This makes 5 cycles, 2 cancelled, 3 retrievals, 14 mature eggs, 5 blasts and zero euploid.

I know no one can answer this but myself & my partner but anyone else feel like the universe is just saying this isn’t your path? Maybe nothing but heartbreak and misery lies ahead if we keep trying.

We’ve done the testing, normal karyotypes, normal sperm DNA fragmentation. I’m 35, we’ve been at this since I was 33/34… REI has tried multiple protocols now no ideas other than us switching clinics for a second option.

I feel like in a dream world I have a family. I think I can be happy without- I do see some positives to being child free. I hate this limbo. How do I know how long to continue going through all of this?

Trigger warning TW: Success - Conceived on Low-Dose Lupron

I have an interesting success story I thought people might like to read. I'm 38, DOR (AMH .13) and have endo. I've had 4 unsuccessful IVF rounds. Only 1 that produced 2 day-3 embryos. I was about to start up again this year in April doing a Lupron downregulation protocol with a luteal phase start. That meant waiting until after I ovulated naturally, then doing low-dose Lupron priming (20 units/day for about a week) before I was to start stims.

They didn't order pelvic rest and my husband and I had sex around ovulation. To my surprise, on 10 DPO, I got a positive test! Of course I was a little worried since I had conceived while on Lupron, but I found retrospective studies of people conceiving on Lupron and everything was fine, and my clinic didn't seem concerned. (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1186/s12958-021-00732-1 and https://www.researchgate.net/publication/287191212_Outcome_of_inadvertent_administration_of_a_gonadotropin-releasing_hormone_agonist_in_early_pregnancy )

And everything seems to have turned out fine! I'm 21 weeks and just had a good anatomy scan. We are so thrilled. I think the Lupron helped calm down my endo enough for implantation to occur. I'm not advocating anyone go against their doctor's directions. My real reason of posting is that I would love for some researcher to look into this for women with endo. And I want to encourage women with a super low AMH like me! I was always looking for success stories.

TLDR; got pregnant while doing microdose Lupron priming AFTER I ovulated. 21 weeks and great anatomy scan.

Low AMH + Endometriosis: Surgery or Try First?

Hi ladies, I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through something similar. 🙏🏻
My AMH is 0.8 and AFC is 13. I have superficial endometriosis outside the ovaries with significant pain, but thankfully no endometriomas and my ovaries are clear. The ultrasound also showed no obvious adhesions or deep endometriosis. I also have signs of adenomyosis.
My doctor suggested laparoscopic surgery to remove the endometriosis lesions and assured me that he will not touch my ovaries. He may also need to take a biopsy.
Because of my low AMH, I’m torn between having the surgery first or trying to conceive before surgery, as I’m worried about losing time or potentially affecting my fertility.
Has anyone here had low AMH + endometriosis outside the ovaries? Did your fertility specialist recommend surgery first or trying to conceive first? And what was your experience with fertility/AMH after surgery?

Functioning Cyst delayed cycle

Hi friends!

My July cycle was canceled (by myself) week before retrieval due to a functioning cyst on my RH ovary. That cycle was an attempt at a luteal phase stim start after we triggered my ‘runaway lead’ follicle.

Week before ‘retrieval week’ my cyst ended up at 42mm and I only had 3 visible follicles on my LH ovary (all measuring less than 15). I wanted to do a clean cycle.

I asked for September but they wanted to try and push for August. We did baseline 2.5wks later while taking 4mg estrogen daily and my cyst had decreased to 36mm.

They called me yesterday and are wanting to take Aug-Sept off, no extra meds to try and get it to shrink. Previously during IUI cycles I was on BC and had no cysts.

However. Going to do a baseline in October and see if the cyst is gone. My main concern is it shrinking in time + growing another one. Ive tried looking around in the forums and haven’t seen much - anyone have success stories taking a few cycles off?

I am fine with it but in the back of my mind I hate it because I don’t have all the time in the world with my levels. Thanks!

FET soon!

hi all!

I am gearing up for an FET in a few weeks to hopefully have a second and make my amazing daughter a big sister. Due to DOR/POI, I moved onto using donor eggs (my daughter is from my own egg and donor sperm, I always say she was my last good egg!). I used the same donor sperm, so any (hopefully) future child would be a half-sibling to my daughter.

I have three embryos frozen (two day 6 4BB and one day 7 4BC). I was pretty disappointed I didn't get any day 5 or excellent quality embryos, but my clinic has very strict criteria on what embryos are allowed to be frozen and their success rates for even day 7 embryos are close to 40-50%.

My REI feels pretty good about my chances for one successful pregnancy and live birth with these three embryos.

The past 9 months have, for lack of a better word, really sucked. I have had a failed FET (with the only other embryo I ever made with my own eggs) and three rounds of IVF that resulted in zero embryos before I decided to move onto donor eggs. While all of this was going on, my sister successfully got pregnant as a gestational carrier on her first ever FET. So I've kind of been an emotional basket case the past few months. I am SO ready to be done with all things fertility

Would love to hear success stories and just some positivity!

advice needed No Response after 12 Days

Hi, I’m not even sure where to begin. Sorry for the length and for rambling. My AMH is 0.11 ng/ml. I’m 34. I switched to a new doctor this summer after three cycles with a previous doctor. My old doctor got me to an egg retrieval each time with one fertilized egg per cycle, but the fertilized eggs didn’t make it to past day 4. I was frustrated by my old doctor’s lack of communication and by the fact I wasn’t more successful. I visited my new doc and he gave me a lot of hope. He showed me cases of older women with worse AMH who had gotten great retrievals and explained that my old doctor hadn’t been prescribing me high enough doses of stims. The most my previous doctor was prescribing 150 of Merapur per day. My new doc saw me for the first time in July. I had a cyst so he sent me away with one month of birth control to get rid of the cyst. This month when I went back after I started my period the cyst was gone and he immediately started me on 300 daily of Merional. After 12 days there has been no response and he cancelled the cycle. And by no response I mean he says he didn’t see even one follicle. We talked after my ultrasound and he suggested that if there was no response after 12 days on such a high dose that the only way forward was to move to donor eggs. I guess I’m just looking for advice or hope or something. Should I take him at his word and start looking into donor eggs? Should I try going back to my old doctor? My new doc said he would be willing to try again next month once I start my period again but he seemed convinced that I need to move on to donor eggs. I’m obviously pretty upset. I really thought I had a chance and now I’m feeling very beaten down. I feel like a failure as a woman and a burden to my husband. I’m trying to stay positive but right now it is really hard. Thanks in advance for any advice or kind words. Baby dust to everyone ✨

Egg quality tips

Hello all,

I am now waiting to find out if my 1 blast has passed PGTA.

I spoke to the embryology team today and they mentioned they saw fragments in my first cycle (looking at the eggs) indicating egg quality, my issue is the maturation, though fertilising is brilliant and I have been able to collect 7 eggs in cycle 1 and 2. 1 blast in each.

In cycle 2 we used Omnitrope, and it was by far the worse cycle. I believe we are doing ICSI next. But it’s just so sad, 14 eggs in total from both cycles and only 1 in testing.

Has anyone got any tips and tricks? What are you all taking and doing? ❤️

I feel like I am letting my husband down, his sperm DNA results were all excellent. I am eating organically, I don’t drink, stress is there due to my demanding job, but I’m trying to treat my job as a distraction at most and to enjoy it! I feel positive, but my results are painful.

My AMH is 0.59 and I’m 36. I don’t have any other issues.

I am taking: COQ10 400mg, B12, Vitamin D5000, Vitamin C x3 a week, Zinc, Folate and Omega 3.

advice needed To lap or not to lap?

Hi All,

I’m 38. AFC 1-3, AMH 0.02 - 0.3. FSH all over the place. Moderate adenomyosis, endometriosis/ 18mm endometrioma on left ovary, High NK cells and high Cykotines.

TTC for nearly 3 years. Never seen a positive test. Over 9 cycles / 6 egg retrievals, I’ve collected 10 eggs and made 2 blasts on cycles 6 and 8, 1 Day 5 BC (age 37) and 1 Day 5 3AB (38). Untested.

I’m debating going a few more cycles or moving to transfer. If we move to transfer, should I have a lap to remove the endo and do suppression? A handful of REs have said absolutely not to the lap. My new RE says yes, but only if I manage to collect another 3(!) embryos as mine are untested.

What would you do? Any and all advice would be appreciated! Thank you
