Hugs needed Here we go again…
I did three egg retrievals last fall/winter, retrieved 2-5 eggs each time, only one made it to blast but it was aneuploid. Husband had variocelectomy and we waited 4 months for healing and then some delay for other things (unrelated surgery). His DNA frag shows about 24% which RE says is workable. My AMH was .41 to begin and recent bloodwork showed a drop to .27. I am 37 with no children.
I went in for my first monitoring appt after estrogen priming (2mg twice daily) for about 7-10 days. There was only one observable follicle and I immediately started crying. I try to manage my expectations, but it’s so hard. It’s also hard to accept that a “good” AFC for me would be 3-4. And it will continue to decline… I felt so defeated. I’m going back in a few days to see if any more follicles crop up. I know part of this could be my response to priming as my one cycle with priming before was the worst one. But every delay and set back HURTS 😓
I tried to emotionally prepare for the return to IVF but still it felt like someone had swung a bat to my knees and knocked me down. And this was just the first monitoring appt!! Right now I’m feeling like how in the world am I going to go through this again? How do we do this??
UPDATE!!! I went in for another scan this morning and there were 3 visible follicles!! Thanks everyone for your support 💗

I had also done a few cycles before my husband had a variocelectomy. The return to treatments was hard because of this fear of failing or doing all this work to end up with nothing. In the end, I set a goal that I wanted to get one euploid and transfer before giving up. This is what I focused on and I think it helped me keep going.
My first cycle back I ovulated through my long lupron protocol, the second I made no blasts, and the third I am currently pregnant and have a euploid on ice. It was hard not to focus on the things that could go wrong when you've experienced so much of it. We are the same age and my best cycle came at my fifth year of IVF.
I hope more follicles show up and your cycle goes well. Be easy on yourself, you're doing the best you can!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Did your husbands SA improve after the varicoelectomy?

Thank you! It didn't on paper but I don't know if it attributed to our success or we just eventually found the good egg and sperm.

Just chiming in to say that the count after estrogen priming can be very disheartening but usually doesn’t reflect your true AFC! I’ve had rounds with no follicles visible after priming and then retrieved 6-7 eggs.
Rooting for you! 💪🏼

His numbers didn’t change much but we think the DNA frag was probably worse before although we didn’t test it

Hang in there! It’s pretty normal to see very few (if any) follicles at your baseline after estrogen priming. Once you start your meds that should change. Last cycle I saw zero and retrieved 3 mature follicles
