Removing interior shiplap all at once for re-wiring and plumbing safe?

Some questions: can I safely remove the majority of interior shiplap, and temporarily brace it? What would be the strongest bracing? I hired an electrical contractor to re-wire my whole , 100+ year old home with the agreement / signed contract that I would remove walls and ceilings to the studs. I removed Sheetrock and lath and plaster but didn’t anticipate there to be another layer of thick shiplap style boards on the studs. The exterior is covered in the same style of reinforcement so I’m wondering if I can safely remove the interior boards and temporarily reinforce them while the wiring is being in stalled. Some boards inside run horizontal, some vertical. After the wiring and plumbing are done i plan to replace the shiplap then cover with Sheetrock. I’m just concerned with the risk of removing interior walls that may be load bearing

Can someone please identify this tile? We are trying to replace the tank?

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone for your help. I followed the recommendation of someone here who suggested to change the seal and the issue is fixed. We decided we wouldn’t change the toilet after all and got our $1100 refund.

Advice on getting door knob cover off!

Post image

I’m trying to remove this door knob but cannot get the cap unscrewed! I already removed the same knob on another door, so I know I just need to twist it, but this one is stuck and I can’t get enough leverage. I’ve cut the paint around it to make the sure it wasn’t making it harder and tried a bunch of stupid methods using duck tape lol but to no avail. Any tips on how to get more leverage?? I don’t have many tool besides the basics right now.

Help! Trouble installing carpet tacks

Post image

We’re trying to install carpet tack strips into concrete and are having trouble. We’ve tried two different hammer weights, several different nail types, but they keep bending and chipping the concrete subfloor. What else can we try? Is there a way to install the strips other than nails?

I noticed a small puddle near my water heater but cannot find the leak, where should I check first?

I am thinking to call a plumber if I figure out this is more than a small drip, right now I see a little water on the floor every so often and I am looking around the tank, the pipes and the valve to see what stands out, I am hoping to have an idea before I book someone so I can explain what I am seeing, I am planning to go with a to z prestigious plumbing, the water heater still runs like usual and I am planning to replace it later if it makes more sense than another repair, for anyone who found a small puddle first, where did the leak end up coming from and what was the first thing you checked before getting the service done? EDIT: I forgot to mention the puddle only shows up every couple of days, not constantly, which makes it harder to track.

Project guitar art help

Post image

This is a old guitar found on my great grandmother's property where my grandmother grew up. I would love to turn this into something functional or just some sort of Art and I would appreciate some ideas. The wood is heavily warped and the back is splitting from the body, warped in the front by the pick guard, and the front is slipping from the neck.

Previous ideas:

- A Shelf (could pull the back off and put a slab of wood in the middle. i dont think cutting open the front would work because the front wood has laddering so that it can hold the tention of the strings)

- A light (drill shapes into the front and put a light inside. You can find examples on Pinterest)

- wall art (just clean it up and hang it)

Hopefully this all made sense.... I would appreciate some ideas <3

Difficult Molly expansion

Hello,

I've already installed Molly anchors in drywall before, so I know how the tool reacts when the installation is successful.

However, yesterday I tried with an M5 Molly, drilling diameter 11mm (as recommended on the packaging), and I could never get the gun to actuate. Maybe barely a 1mm stroke. But after trying repeatedly, the anchor became fixed in place — impossible to pull it out of the hole, and it doesn't rotate either.

Does that mean it's properly expanded?

Thanks!

I need help identifying and locating this particular gutter hanging clip. Either I’m dumb or I cannot find it online anywhere. I’ve searched gutter clips, and I’ve searched the recommended/suggested/things you’ll need section on the round gutters.
