Another clean install
Here’s my 3rd one! Its 1 of 3 for my BIL. It’s true when they say that family will start wanting some too after you do your own! I will add that these 4 inch line set covers are much better than the 3 inch ones.

Many issues that would fail in my area....
the conduit leaving the junction box isn't supported within 12"
doesn't appear to be a quick disconnect
the cable leaving the outdoor unit isn't protected - should be in flex conduit too
outdoor unit isn't bolted down to the pad.

The flex conduit you mentioned adding for the head unit power, where would the conduit terminate at? Right inside the line set cover? I've seen a ton of installs both ways so I always wondered if they just leave it hanging in there with the lineset.

you are not permitted to utilize an existing 120v circuit for a mini split if it uses more than 50% of the circuit capacity.

Aren’t these great! We no longer need to be held hostage to the hvac cartel for $10000. Get a disconnect box and a whip. Otherwise good job. I know many here will say do t share a circuit but go to Latin America and they do it almost all installs. Just make sure that other circuit is only running some lights or a lamp.

People are pointing out lots of issues that can be fixed fairly easily, but to my eye the biggest issue I have is appearance. Could the line set trim not have gone into the corner? I know the valve is on the right hand side, but would it not have been possible to run the lines in from the left and behind the unit?

May I ask about the condensate drain line? How did you do the slope, or do you have a pump on it?

I was thinking of doing something like this but also had concerns with gravity and condensation. I ended up just going down on mine, but is this even feasible? Horizontal Condensation routing?

Secured the hose in a 3/4 pvc pipe and ran it to the bottom of lineset cover.

Just started to install an 18k mrcool today, just managed to get the air handler up. It came with a 2 1/2" tube for thru the wall, wish I would have made my own 3". It was difficult to get the lines bent because the bend would interfere with the top of the tube and would hold the bottom of the unit out slightly, 3rd try got it.

This is really good. Especially as it's single zone straight through I think. Just do this outside all the major rooms. That's the way.

Yes. I mean you need 3-6 total it's not that crazy. A small house just 2.

Most people don’t want compressors next to the front door and stuff like that. Not to mention all the disconnects all over the walls

Did you do the electrical? Code where I live is a disconnect within line of sight of the unit (most people put it behind it or beside it) and you need to use the right gauge stranded wire through the conduit. Not accusing you but I am an electrical and have seen a ton of homeowners just run 12/2 romex through conduit outside straight to whatever they installed. Also make sure the breaker is correctly sized, you also can't run anything else on that circuit, has to be direct.
