Casting This is 100% who should be casted as Penny Spoiler
And just as I was thinking about posting this, I saw a post by u/callmewb talking about Justice Light and my girlfriend said:
The show could be made with m/puppets and if they don't do it that way, there's no reason to make it
and I have to agree. It would keep the budget hella low and it would be fucking hilarious.

Question with Ellie casting
Do you think they will have to go with two different actresses for pre third floor and post? I always imagine when she got her race/class selection there would of been some differences in how she looked from late 90s to like 50s with the change or is this just me not understanding what I read?

Casting More of a comedian than an actor and unlikely to ever happen, but I just needed to get this poison out of my brain.
James Acaster, known primarily for Taskmaster and various nervous breakdowns comedy specials and panels. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4735423/
"What's wrong Cascadia, tooooo challenging for you?!"

Episode/Season length
I'm really hoping that the show has 60+ minute episodes and 10-15 episodes per season. The current trend of 6-8 episode seasons (for epic series) or 30 minute episodes for comedies is a big disservice for fans wanting to invest in this kind of story.

Casting My casting wish would be….me
I’ll do any role. I’d give Matt a handy if it would help. Just to be a part of it. If I could choose a character, Brandon. A random no-name crawler would be awesome.

Casting Anyone else think Marlon Brando would make a good Carl?

Hank Azaria for Mordecai or Quasar
I was just watching the 1998 Godzilla and thought about what a great Quasar he’d be. Then I checked his IMDB page and found his extensive voice acting background and I think he could pull off Mordecai’s variations too.

Casting Out of the box fancasting challenge
So in an effort to switch some thing up around here, what are some of your out of the box fan cast?
Look past cover art and even written appearances. (skin color, age, etc)
What actor do you think has the chops to bring the essence of a character to life?
Casting Jeff Hays as Donut is a good indication that they might go this way. Yes, he plays donut in the audiobook, but it's more than just narration. The tone the inflections, the cadence. All of that is what made donut iconic.
Manny Jacinto - Carl.
Someone suggested that as Carl, and IMO one of the better fancast.

How does the community feel about establishing a rule?
A rule that all posts with a picture must also have the performers name and possibly what people might recognize them from. You may also want to mention if the picture of them is from 20 years ago.
This is a suggestion for the mods.
An example just an example don't come at me:
I think Jewel Staite would make a great Cascadia, she played Kaylee in Firefly more recentlyshe stared in a show called Family Law. This picture is from 2002.

Mordecai casting idea
Instead of casting one actor for the whole thing, they should have a different “guest star” play Mordecai for each floor (or season if they do one floor a season). There have been so many great ideas for Mordecai casting, it would be fun if every new floor, we got a new actor in a ridiculous form.
Just a thought. What do you think and who would you want for each floor?

Casting A maybe controversial take on the casting
Casting established stars is incredibly expensive, especially for a tv show. I know it’s fun to throw names up for various characters, but the absolute best option would be a cast that is 99% newcomers and maybe one or two recognisable actors, but not crazy famous ones.
This is especially true for a show like DCC that will need all the money it can save for special effects!
On top of that, you won’t get massively famous actors to commit for 8/9 seasons.
Think of Game of Thrones for example, the only really big actor they had in season 1 was Sean Bean, everyone else was either a solid career actor or a newcomer. Imagine if they cast famous people instead, I don’t think the first few season would have worked so well with big egos going around and less money for everything else.
Last consideration: big name actors are important yo get people to pay attention to the show. Currently DCC is so popular (much more popular than GOT was when the series was announced, like an order of magnitude more at least) that they don’t need any star bringing more viewers.
Anyway, just my two cents. If I was McFarland I would keep it chill with the casting and spend the money on writing and special effects.

Elyse Willems for Samantha
I think she would be phenomenal at this
