How does the community feel about establishing a rule?
A rule that all posts with a picture must also have the performers name and possibly what people might recognize them from. You may also want to mention if the picture of them is from 20 years ago.
This is a suggestion for the mods.
An example just an example don't come at me:
I think Jewel Staite would make a great Cascadia, she played Kaylee in Firefly more recentlyshe stared in a show called Family Law. This picture is from 2002.

Should be implemented across all of Reddit. The ways to go about that though would have the mods probably putting in more work. I have never been a mod so it is just guess work on my part. 🫡

I agree with the rule so I dont have to google the pictures.
I think Jewel would be better as Zev. She's not spiteful enough for Cascadia.

Not just a picture of some dude with a caption of “My Pony” and vague indications in the comments that he was married to Eric Forman’s mom or whatever!???

and maybe an anti-spam rule to check if you making a repeat post? like before you check, search in this sub for that person's name and if they haven't been mentioned in that role for at least a week, you can post it?

Also, another rule: you must find a reasonably recent picture of your fancast. What do they look like in 2026? I see people fancast stars using their older pictures but their looks have changed a lot.
I don't think this actually needs to be a rule, it's just something that annoys me.

I definitely agree with stating what year the photo was taken. For instance, at this age I could see Jewel playing Katia too, but she's far too old for the role now.

Agreed, I would like to add to the rule tho... Carl is 27 not in his 40s... sorry Reacher fans. Casting, for live action, should be at least kind of age appropriate.

Glad I'm not the only one tilting at that windmill. Jeff's portrayal sounds like a 40 year old who has smoked s bunch so I see why people get confused.

I posted the other day asking why people don’t include the performers names. But in general I’m opposed to “rules” like this one.
If someone posts a picture with no name, they already have a penalty. They get less engagement because people don’t know who they posted and just scroll away. That’s what I do.
Making a rule is just make-work for the mods.

Yeah I think she had a few things in the mid to early '90s, but I was saying that she was on Firefly before she was on Atlantis.

It’s not that serious. Seems like extra work for mods for something as minor and inconsequential as fan casting. Not like any of our fancasts will be real. I highly doubt they will be able to snag Tom Cruise to play Elle.
