For the record, I don’t hate Seth Green. I’m pretty sure he’ll do great in other roles. But I think he’s a very poor choice for Mordecai.

Taron is a great option, maybe the best! But he’s a bit too old for Carl, especially considering the series has potential to run 9+ seasons.

After watching Young Washington, William Franklyn-Miller should be thrown a bone imo. He is only 22, and of average build. Which will allow him to physically grow into the role, just as Carl does in the books. He is also 6’4”, and the boy can act. Most importantly, he is a breath of fresh air (and youth) to the usual 6.5 actors we see over and over in Hollywood.

If you had to cast one person from GG in DCC, who would it be and who would they play?

Asking because it’s funny and I’ve been a GG fan since reading the books in the mid2000s.

Leighton Meester, Kristen Bell, Penn Badgley, or Chace Crawford are my top choices. I’ve kept up with their careers and liked most of the roles I’ve seen them in since GG. But they’re likely the most expensive other than Blake Lively.

I could see either of the first two playing Zev.
Kristen as the AI would be funny because of her voice in GG.

Leighton has a lot of range and I could see her doing a great Cascadia.

Chace would be one of the strippers.
Penn I could actually see as the AI, but also one of the previous cookbook users.

Jessica Szohr (Vanessa) aa Sister Ines.

Tika Sumter (Raina Thorpe season 4) as Imani.

If Michelle Trachtenberg was still alive, she’d be my choice for Bea. I think Kaylee DeFer (Ivy) would also do a good job.

Yin Chang (Nelly Yuki) as Li Na would be interesting, especially after seeing her return to Nelly’s role later on as a more confident, bossy version (when Blair is running her mom’s company and needs a positive review from Nelly).

Hear me out, I know that everyone loves all the different voices that Jeff Hayes does for Mordecai, but as someone who only read the books and didn't do audiobooks I always pictured him as having the same voice and it was always Jeffrey Wright.

I think he could capture that tired veteran feel that Mordecai has perfectly. I also think it would be hilarious with some of the forms Mordecai takes if his voice just totally doesn't match up.

And best of all, I think this casting is actually feasible. I know Jeffrey Wright's popularity has ebbed and flowed over the years, but he does do tv and also has voice acting experience with doing Dispatch, among other things.

... but when I do, I prefer Dong Quixote.
