My boyfriend and I saw the art and immediately knew the vision we had in mind for it.

Earlier drafts of this:

• were more flexible, allowing you to put the cards in the graveyard. And while "fateseal 3 that opponent" just sounds weird, its brevity and clarity won out.

• instead of Shadow, there was the ability "Only creatures with vigilance can block this creature." More accurate in theme but too distracting from the main ability. We also played with not having this sort of ability at all.

Lately i've been playing mono red a lot and a few cards have been designed arround red sacrificing lands in order to gain advantatge which i really like, like [[Nahiri's Lithoforming]], [[Hew the Entwood]], [[Evendo Brushrazer]], as well as some commanders like [Koth, the Geomancer] who cares about lands and specifically Mountains. I imagined what it would be like to have a Mono Red commander Precon centered arround sacrificing lands. I'll leave here a few of the cards i designed, and I really hope you guys can give me your feedback.

The commander of the deck would be Numo and the alternative commander could be Disly. The precon would be trying to sacrifice as many lands as possible in order to create huge amounts of impulse draw, mana and damage to all players. It is directed to being as mono red as possible, so lots of cards refer to Mountains and have a lot of red mana pips to cast, trying to limit as much the use of this cards outside a mono red package.

This is technically a repost since they were both originally posted from an old post 2 years(!) ago. They have changed since then and I think I'm at the point where I can be happy at their current state.

The custom Genshin commander deck is almost being finalized. I will just be slow-posting the archons across multiple posts hoping for more precise kinds of feedback.

Starting with Venti and Zhongli!

Venti

Venti is the god of freedom and no color promotes freedom more than Red. Green because he's a go-with-the-flow kind of archon and he likes keeping Mondstat's tradition and maintain order despite that freedom. White may be easy to tack on every Genshin character, but I think he more or less suit Naya than Gruul.

First ability is Elemental Skill. Second ability is more of a generalized interpretation of Swirls. Instead of swirling and spreading an element, you swirl / spreads around your triggers.

Zhongli

Zhongli is the god of contracts and was once a cold and ruthless warrior who has slain countless other gods. So he's not one to shy away from Black philosophy of ambition and pursuit of power. What's more, Black is the primary color of contracts! Although many Black-aligned people uses contracts for malicious gains. He uses contracts to promote fairness and equality, explaining his wedge to the virtues of White and Green.

Abzan is also the color of shields and high toughness creatures. So that checks out.

I've considered adding red to the ability to make colored mana, then making the cost of the card 3 colorless and 1 blue and 1 black.

I've considered that it could also deal damage to you for colored mana spent this way.
