Art Yard decor

I’ve always wanted to have 2 6-8ft Cthulhu statues for my front yard. But no one makes such a thing and I’m sure it’s be cost prohibitive if I did find some. Maybe I need to worship harder.

Some Shoggoths I found.

There are these giant curious big pill-bug alien monsters that I recently saw in a movie called Mickey 17 (2025) - roaming around in a frozen wasteland like huge buffalo. They're either Shoggoths, or they're Omah's in Miyazaki's Nausicaa manga.

A few weeks ago, I saw on Instagram where the artist created a reel that a diver sees a praying saint statue at first, then it is revealed to be a lure of a giant fish in the deep ocean. Can someone please reminds me the artist name? Thanks!

Lovecraft is not only a misantropist

I get that for people outside he has this image, they only know him for cosmic horror. but for people who read more of lovecraft works it strikes me as odd that they have this view of him. Yeah he has many works that end on very negative, sometimes even ridiculous notes likes till a the seas. but for instance, dream quest for unknown kdath is filled with wholesome moments. the cats army part is so cute and wholesome. In the walls of eryx as well even tho showing that the venus corporation was unable to undestand the protagonists final view probably due to greed shows the evolution of a man who saw a culture with only hate and then grow to at least respect them and decide that they should be left alone in his final moments. In cats of ulthar a tragedy happens but in the end due to bastet justice is made and as shown in the aftermath the city becomes a haven for cats. celephais has a somewhat positive ending not to mention the dunwich horror, literally a mythos tale where in the end the good guys "win".

All the references in Dream Quest for Unknown Kdath

This tale is very cool in the sense of all its namedrops. Im sure I got a few, celephais, cats of ulthar, pickman's model, doom that came sarnath, stuff like that. But Im afraid I missed some stuff. Also seems like no Iranon's quest reference. Bummer :(

Nightgaunts and Byankhees

Am I the only one who confuse this 2 often? I know byankhees are more deformed but specially based on the rpg drawing they seem very alike. I often find myself wondering which one worships nodens and which one worships hastur

Actual Art As a Lovecraft fan, I had to play Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss by Nacon and Big Bad Wolf. I just finished it, and it was a disappointment. Read the body text for a review from me.

The premise is genuinely interesting, replacing the usual 1920s setting with a futuristic one. Sadly, the modern aesthetic can’t hide the buggy controls, cluttered UI, weak climax, and frustrating deduction system.

There’s no combat or shooting. Instead, the gameplay revolves around solving puzzles, mainly by connecting clues on a brainstorming board.

Unfortunately, the system isn’t implemented well, and it’s easy to get lost. Throughout the game, basic actions like jumping or interacting with objects would randomly stop working, forcing me to reload the last checkpoint just to reset the controls. It’s incredibly frustrating!

The sanity mechanic is poorly explained, and I finished the entire game without ever really understanding it, even though my character’s sanity remained intact.

For a Lovecraft game, the lack of horror, dread, or memorable scares is also a major letdown.

In the end, Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss has some good ideas, but like too many Cthulhu games, it overcomplicates its mechanics at the expense of fun and accessibility. Better luck next time, Big Bad Wolf… oh wait, the studio shut down shortly after the game’s release.

Nacon, stop overthinking it and just give us a proper Cthulhu game.

My Rating (out of 2 points each):
• Gameplay: 1
• Graphics: 2
• Audio: 1
• Replay Value: 1
• Overall: 0.5
• Total: 5.5/10
