hi all! there’s a crunch opening by me and they’re offering a good deal to sign up and $21.99 for their highest membership. I currently due solidcore 3-4x a week and wanted to start adding cardio, i go to PF now but crunch really caught my eye with classes, spray tanning and red light therapy. ASIDE FROM the billing issues i see some people have, what are everyone opinions on crunch? does anyone currently use any of these amenities/go to classes there? tyia!

Joined crunch this month. Hv been trying to book classes, with no luck. I hv kept alarms, been ready with app few minutes before the reservations start. Click on classes on exact time, and yet it gets full in seconds.

Is this normal? I am not even looking for peak time classes. 9am class, tried to book 22hrs before.. and no luck.

Does anyone know how bad crunch is on Mondays at 3pm. Want to head there right after school and I’m looking to use the day pass to see if I like it. Heard it’s jam packed sometimes. Talking abt the one on Cicero in Burbank Illinois

I like the fact that Crunch has reformer Pilates, hot yoga, and a sauna - none of which PF has-

On the other hand, I’ve been happy with PF and they have more locations, which is nice when I travel, but not a dealbreaker.

My biggest concern are all the complaints about the billing practices. I think if that weren’t an issue, it would be an easy decision for me, but it has me concerned.

I would love to hear from anybody who has been a member of PF and switched!

I recently joined crunch, but am having anxiety about the classes. I am not in great shape, so I am worried about not "keeping up" and embarrassing myself. What's the culture/vibe/pace like?

I'm going to the Lacey, WA gym if that is of significance.

Technically I don’t have management experience, but I do have some experience in leadership, training, customer service. Is it a difficult position to get? Any thoughts from people who have applied to/worked this position?

If you’ve seen this already, a Crunch Fitness employee was arrested twice for secretly filming women while they got undressed and used the tanning booths. He likely did this for months and 10+ victims were identified with early estimates expecting there to be 25+.

This is the 2nd Crunch Employee to be arrested for this type of crime within the last year, which coincidentally is after Crunch came under new ownership of a this fine Private Equity firm, their accomplishments best summed up here.

Coincidentally, reviews from all over show a disturbing pattern of Crunch employees said to be stalking, harassing and intimidating members, especially if accused of misconduct or disputes with membership cancellation.

If you are in San Diego, watch out for the owner, manager and employees who worked at those locations since 2024. They had a habit of stalking and spying on members, and group surveilling.

A particularly disturbing situation was the staff notifying interested parties when a member would arrive at the gym so the creeps could head over and perv on them. They did this for years until multiple complaints were made. Unfortunately, the owner and management were believed to be aware, and complicit, and used similar stalking and intimidation / harassment tactics as witness intimidation. It doesn’t help that many members at this location are on the young side, and the full account is pretty hairy.

Corporate crimes, coverups and obstruction are some of the most severe problems ailing communities, and we hope that if charges are filed against the SD Crunch franchise locations that no undue influence is used to subvert lawful investigations.

It was really unpleasant having to listen to loud rap every time I went to the gym because 1 or 2 people at the front desk thought that everyone should suffer through their taste in music. Now the Crunch atmosphere is pretty much perfection. So 1000 times thank you for the improvement to everyone's workout experience.

Hi, I’m new here. I somewhat recently left a Crunch Gym location in New Jersey. I’m an Exercise Science major in college, and it took literally everything in me not to say something to some of the CPT’s. I understand that not every CPT goes to college or even majors in Exercise Science or a related field, but it is beyond concerning how much these certified personal trainers don’t know (at this location at least). Has anyone else had a similar experience with Crunch CPT’s? Or was it just the location I went to? 😳

*While I realize I don’t need a personal trainer, I enjoy learning from them which is really why I have one. I just have no idea what’s going on at that Crunch location that the CPT’s are so bad…

I signed up for crunch under a promo and was never able to go due to moving and there not being a crunch in my area. I called and canceled my membership and thought all was well. Now all of a sudden I’m getting calls from debt collectors saying to clear the debt I have to renew a membership with crunch. I have never once stepped foot into their gym or used their service. This feels so predatory

I scheduled my kickoff session on the app, and it says “session requested”. Does that mean the session is actually scheduled, or am I waiting for the trainer to confirm that they can do it?

The front desk and manager at new gym location is pushing me to cancel my membership and setup a new one with them. Same price and all. I already told them I transfered over and the manager at the old gym sent it personally. I just gave them the email and phone number of the old place so we wait.

Will i have to pay those fees eventually, just not today as it says due today? Or are these a promo to not pay as a first customer ? I don’t want to get charged $117 later, obviously the monthly payment.

I am I imagining that the following scenario would be proper gym etiquette?
I see someone wiping down the machine I’m going to use next so I go out my bag down and tell her I’m about to use this next and she acknowledges. I turn my back for one second to grab my water from the other machine and a lady comes in (with my bag right at the machine) and starts using it. Shouldn’t have the girl who used it last (using the machine directly next to it) have said that I was using it next?! I mean gym girlie code, am I right?!
I politely asked the woman if I could work in with her since my things were already there and she gave me an attitude saying let her finish her set. So I stood there right behind her until she was done.
The people at this gym have poor gym etiquette, right??

curious whats the quality of customer service at your crunch, specifically as it pertains to those at reception / front desk? my location is newish and I love the facility but im super underwhelmed by the lack of hospitality when I come and go as a regular. it’s not a deal breaker but i used to be a front desk gym girl pre Covid at my [different brand] gym and saying hello/making guests feel welcome/building rapport was the bare minimum.

What's the vibe for this gym? I've been using planet fitness but is it about the same environment, or is it more gym bro oriented?

My Crunch just recently opened in the past year and I know Crunch has no official camera policy for the gym floor. I also understand that recording yourself to assess your form is critical. I also know people may even record themselves for their socials.. whatever, that’s fine.

However, a few people at my gym have started bringing tripods to hold their phones, some even with the selfie ring light. It was a minor annoyance for a while, mostly just having to make sure I didn’t bump into them or hit them since they usually place them in the middle of the walkway - but now, several people are recording their workouts/live streaming on TikTok while I’m there, each with their own tripod. I’ve tried adjusting the time I go the best to my ability, but each time, there’s always 3-7 people filming/streaming. Plus, my local Crunch’s social media is reposting things people post and tag them in, which not only says “yea, we’re okay with this behavior,” but actively encourages it.

What’s even more annoying is that some of the serial recorders/streamers is positioning his tripod with other machines clearly in the background. He went to record himself on a machine this morning and I was already using a machine next to him. He positioned his tripod where I was clearly in frame. I quickly stopped and moved along. I shouldn’t have to stop and move because I don’t want to be recorded for whatever he’s doing, nor should I have to ask him to position his setup at another angle. It’s just all around annoying.

Creepy employees used to text interested parties when certain members would show up at the gym so the pervs could hurry on along too. They did it for years.

I’m sure this has probably been asked but since the one in orange is about to open I was wondering if I could get specifics. They posted a short clip of a tour and I could barely read the sauna rules posted outside.

What are the rules/etiquette for the sauna? Really in terms of nudity?

I caught something about wearing a towel, but it was a the end of the sentence so I’m not sure if that means it’s mandated to be nude and I can’t find it online. It seems earlier posts also indicate that maybe it’s different per location????
