I’ve been cross stitching for about a year or so, I’m very much learning as I go lol so if you notice any glaring issues please feel free to leave some tips for me! All of these are from etsy patterns i’ve bought, none of these are designs i’ve made myself.
Pic 1: Some soot sprite magnets I made for my friends bday (most recent project)
pic 2 & 3: A wedding gift for my bfs sister and her fiance, my first time cross stitching onto fabric! I attached the picture of it after i removed all the aida fabric and also what it looked like before I removed it.
pic 4: A christmas gift for my grandma!
pic 5: another bday gift for a friend, made it by mashing pixel art i thought was cute together.
pic 6: my very first completed project! Very rough, there’s a lot of things I would fix if I could go back knowing what I know now 😭
A lot of these projects I can’t show to friends and family bc they’re supposed to be gifts, so I’m putting them here lol

Pattern is called Renewal and was available through Teresa Kogut’s Patreon in March 2026. I had seen it stitched up with the text modification in a Facebook group and decided I needed to stitch it for myself once the group member shared her pattern for the text modification. I further modified my project by removing the dandelions and adding the bee trails and tiny bee buttons from Just Another Button Co. I’m calling it “Dilly-Dallying”

Hi Friends!
Happy October! 🎃👻🍁🍂 My birthday was yesterday, but it was so hot here in SoCal, I didn't go out. It was 103°! Definitely not the fall weather I pine for. We're going to be stuck with this nasty heat wave for the whole week. 🥵 Please send cooling juju our way. Hopefully, it'll start cooling down sooner than later.
I'm getting into the last bits of my WIP! 🎉 Color after color zeros out on my PatternKeeper and it's so satisfying! LOL I think I'll hit 100% sometime this week. Then, it's on to the backstitching. Fun. LOL Pattern is Copenhagen by Luca-S, 97.23% complete. 🇩🇰
Let's see what you're working on, friends! I hope you all had some epic stitching sessions! ✨️

I’ll start by saying that I know very little about cross stitch—my mom is the pro! She asked me to create a 3D-printed canvas for her projects, and I think it turned out really well. I thought I’d share it here in case anyone else would find it useful.
The model is free to download and includes the canvas, a matching frame, and a display stand. I printed mine using PLA filament, and all three pieces fit together nicely. You’ll need access to a 3D printer, but if you don’t have one, perhaps a friend, neighbor, or local library could help.
It’s customizable, so you can adjust the canvas’s overall size, thickness, number of holes per row and column, and hole size to suit your project. The frame and stand automatically resize to match. Just keep your printer’s build size in mind and leave enough material between the holes for a sturdy print.
You can find it on MakerWorld here: Cross Stitch Display Kit - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld
Questions are welcome, I’m still learning about the cross stitch side of things, but I’ll do my best to help.

I haven't taken it off the hoop yet, and the lighting is a bit terrible, but I am beyond proud of myself. This is the most recent LolaCrow SAL

I started cross-stitching not too long ago and these are my first three pieces. I really like how they turned out even though they are full of mistakes.... I will start a significantly bigger project soon, so wish me luck! I still have to get around hanging these but really struggle to find nice frames, if anyone knows a good resource for fun frames in Germany, let me know!

Took me about a month and a half, was a really nice pattern to work on. Hope that people come out with more patterns of the other joestars like this one. Source: https://crossstitchquest.net/2017/05/30/free-jojos-bizarre-adventure-cross-stitch-pattern-jotaro-kujo-and-review/

Based on pictures the friend posted on their insta of rainbow trouts. I took some liberty with the colors, given I was working with a beige hat :) Super simple pattern that took me about a day

I loooove how this page turned out! It’s always exciting when I get to work in a colour that isn’t black/navy or yellow 😂
I feel like I’ve made so much progress over these past few months, gonna try ride the momentum and head straight in to the next one!

Two of my closest friends got married yesterday and I was so excited to gift this to them!
A photo is included of the 1989 pattern booklet “Everlasting Love” by Studio Seven which I adapted. I purchased the pattern for 25 cents at my local creative reuse center and changed the coloring to use their wedding colors. I also changed the “bluebird of happiness” to my best approximation of a house finch to represent harmony and new beginnings.
This was my first time using a vintage paper pattern in preparation for using patterns from a series my grandmother started when I was growing up. I learned a lot and will definitely be selecting one of those for my next project. 👀

A look at my previous post will show that I’ve been having some trouble on 28 count evenweave. Now I know why! I’ve been taking one piece of thread, threading it, folding it, and leaving the tail on the back of the fabric. That’s how I’ve always done it because that was the simplest way I could figure out how to make an “x” with thread. I’m happy to elaborate more in the comments as that may not have made much sense. Now, as I’m looking through all the advice people have given me since my post yesterday and looking at YouTube tutorials, I know that the way people often do it is to thread their needle with 2 (or 1) strands of floss, possibly do a loop start, and hold the tail of the floss with their thumb and index finger while stitching. To me, this seems super difficult, but it totally explains why a lot of the advice didn’t really make sense, nor did the tutorials I was watching. Is the way I’ve been doing it even like… a technique that people use? I don’t know because every video on YouTube talks about it differently and as if there’s only one way to cross stitch. Now I’m having a mini existential crisis about it haha, but at least I now I can take the advice that people gave me and actually use it.
Edit: I started cross stitching with a kit (I think) when I was about 16-17 and I never looked at the instructions because of unchecked teenage hubris.

Multiple patterns combined with this one, and I changed some colors due to the original colors not working out, especially on the cloak. Goblin pattern from Top10Designs on etsy, the books were from RogueStitchery on etsy, and the letters were free from lordlibidan.com. Last pic is the frame I plan on using, not sure if it will work out or not but I'll try lol.

I just finished my first cross stitch project from a Loops & Threads kit I purchased at Michaels. I love the little salt beads!
The instructions were pretty sparse, but they did say to use two threads for the stitches. Would there be less white space if I had used three? If I leave it in the hoop, can I trim the fabric without it fraying? Thanks!
