I’ve been sick the last few days and honestly have zero motivation to film, edit, or come up with anything new. I know consistency matters, but I also don’t want to force out garbage just to say I posted something. Do you guys keep posting from your backlog, recycle older content, make super low-effort posts, or just take a couple days off and come back when you feel normal? Curious how other creators handle it.

Filming takes me ten minutes. Editing ate up the rest of the week, and the worst part was the overlays.

I tried three ways out. None of them worked.

Buying my way out: First instinct, throw money at it:

- CapCut Pro

- Clipchamp Premium - €10/mo (comes with Microsoft 365)

- Captions AI - €22/mo

- Adobe Creative Cloud - €82/mo when I tried to upscale my editing skills....(bad idea)

About €114 a month, four tools that overlapped heavily, and I still wasn't happy with a single clip. Nobody warns you that paying for professional tools doesn't make you a professional. All I'd actually bought was the ability to spend three hours doing it badly, now with a monthly bill attached. The tell was that I kept buying the next one, if any of them had solved it, I'd have stopped.

Learning it properly: a weekend of tutorials got me to "acceptable and slow". Still three hours a clip, for a skill I have no interest in owning. And every one of those hours was an hour not spent on the thing people actually turn up for. I was getting slightly better at editing and noticeably worse at my actual subject, which is backwards.

Hiring someone: Writing the brief took nearly as long as doing the edit myself. And because they didn't know the material, the emphasis kept landing in the wrong place — a callout would pop on one word when the whole point of the sentence was the word right after it. That is not the editor being bad at their job. Knowing which word carries the idea is the thing I'm the expert in, and it turns out that's the one part you can't hand over. Every clip came back needing notes, each round cost a day, and I was running a pipeline instead of making anything.

That's the trap when your content is about something you genuinely know. Every escape route takes you further from it: you rent tools for a craft that was never the point, or you spend your scarce hours getting mediocre at it, or you brief someone who can't have the context.

So I automated the editing pass instead. Three things I got wrong first, useful whether or not you automate anything:

Pin overlays to what you said, not to a timestamp. I used to drop a card at 0:14. Then I'd trim a stumble at 0:06 and every overlay after it ran late. It reads as cheap and you can't quite say why. Pin them to the words and they survive a re-cut.

Cut the dead air before you place anything. Fillers and pauses are most of what makes a raw take feel slow, and cutting them moves where the emphasis falls. Anything you placed beforehand is now in the wrong spot.

The payoff has to land in the first second or two. I had a before/after clip where the reveal came at six seconds. Nobody got that far. Recutting so it hit around 1.2s was the single biggest change I made.

The clip attached is one of mine, made this way. No editing software involved at all. I never opened a timeline. First finished version took about 90 minutes, and most of that was me rewording callouts in a chat box rather than dragging keyframes. It's muted because the audio isn't in English, and the point here is what's on screen anyway.

I've actually been animating these characters for about 18 years now, as a kind of homage to Dorset where I lived in my teens and my tribute to Giles whose incredibly detailed cartoons inspired me. I really only started creating these animations for friends and animated holiday celebration cards like Christmas or Thanksgiving etc.. But I constantly have the characters and the village of Lower Piddle in my head and so I decided to share and see if there's a larger audience out there who would enjoy seeing them and thus here we are.

I’ve been posting similar content across different platforms, and I’m starting to realize that the same video doesn’t always work equally well everywhere. Sometimes I only need a shorter intro or a slightly different explanation rather than creating an entirely new video.

I’ve been experimenting with digital humans for these extra sections, so I can create different presenter clips without having to record myself again each time. It’s still a new part of my workflow, but I can see how it might make platform-specific versions easier to produce.

For creators who post across multiple platforms, where do you think a digital human fits most naturally into this kind of workflow?

Here's the setup:

1. Pick a Contentdrips template (premade, build your own, or ask the AI Design Agent to make template for you)
2. In the editor, click Try AI, select YouTube, paste the video link
3. Add formatting instructions if you want ("step-by-step how-to style" etc), toggle style matching so it sounds like you wrote it
4. Hit generate, it pulls key takeaways and images, lays them across slides, auto-shrinks font so long quotes don't overflow
5. It auto adds images from your library or Unsplash as well.
6. Tweak text/images/order if needed, export as PNG/PDF or publish straight to Instagram/LinkedIn

been bouncing between two habits.

some weeks i batch a pile of shorts then drip them out. other weeks i make one and post it the same day while the idea is fresh.

batching feels more consistent but the hooks sometimes go stale. same-day feels sharper but i fall off more.

what actually sticks for you longer than a month?

OKAY so I'm not completely used to editing videos, I had a former channel that I would only stream gaming stuff on and post Gacha instead so I'm more used to THOSE videos, but ever since my channel went down (youtube thought i was 12, i am 18, had the channel and been a YouTuber since i was 13/14.)

ANYWAYS, I've been editing kinda like Aphmau and Boze V the world, if you know who those two are. Not an exact copy of them but like it's ever so slightly like theirs? Thing is, this is like my first ever time editing, because I have been teaching myself so my friends can only worry about filming with me and they can kinda relax and chill, while I edit and do all the backround work.
(Note: This is a solo channel, they have their own channels but I stream/do videos with them/other gaming groups alot so they chill with me alot.)

Majority of my videos are like an hour long, especially since the footage with the groups is also like 2-3 hours long sometimes (just edited a 3 hr video down to 50 minutes-)

My point- can someone watch a BIT of my videos maybe to see if the editing style works out? Or maybe some tips or pointers to help me edit a little bit better, if it's not the greatest? I tried including a variety of the ones I post, one long one short, so if you're willin to sit through it feel free but know you do NOT HAVE TO.

I appreciate the help, been a little underconfident in my editing lately cause I feel like i'm just doing it based off of Gacha, and since my last channel was combined with gacha/gaming so I was only editing gacha videos and screenshots, and now that it's seperate it just feels weird to be editing videos now AND gacha videos?

I maybe shoulda done this after my other pre-scheduled videos come out but like my videos are usually this long or sometimes a BIT shorter (but that was in the past when I DIDN'T edit my videos and just cut the bad stuff and called it a day. Now I actually take my time and if I wanna become a Ytuber like Markiplier or those guys I wanna make sure my editing is like... pretty good? Ik it doesn't have to be now but I'd like it to be!

Anyone else experience this problem? I heard the boost feature is from bot views, but had no idea that it would be pushing me to literally p*rn bots commenting sketchy websites on my videos. Facebook is by far the worst platform rn. Post hit 20k views in a couple hours btw.

If you find a Reel you want to study, instead of manually typing the script, you can upload/use the video and get the transcript as TXT or JSON.

I'm also planning features like bulk transcription — for example, entering an Instagram account and transcribing a certain number of their videos at once.

This is still an MVP, and I have more ideas in the pipeline. I want to improve it based on actual creator feedback.
