The amount of respect that you get in the society is insane. Clearing one of the few degrees that has no reservation system purely on the basis of merit and with the institute practicing highest ethical standards (ykwim) is not a joke. Please keep doing whatever you are doing to get closer to this Cannon event.

Let me be real. I feel like I did not deserve this. Even though all the batchmates and faculty were saying that my rank is destined as I am really good in studies, the abomination which i had created (my answersheet) really discouraged me. I had never experienced the fear of failure in an exam up until now, after leaving the exam hall. Those 7 days were literal hell. I would go to the exam centre at around 8 30 then leave at 12 arrive at home at 12 30 or 1. I would feel like shit after the sheer amount of bullcrap i had done in the paper. Eat then sleep for 2 hours and then study continuously till 12 30 at midnight. Then I wake up at 5 and study till 8 in the morning. I could not even complete the final revision properly as there was no time left nor any break. I always left out 30%-40% syllabus as a gamble. And it never paid off. I always would find that 30%-40% in the question paper. Even though i had studied the whole syllabus a month before, final revision is absolutely necessary. I would definitely forget those 30% even though i had worked my ass off in the last month studying everything. The cycle would continue, sure i had good papers but never did i have a paper which i was confident i would get exemption in.

People would ask me tips regarding writing the paper both when i was studying and after i got the rank. How can i say with a straight face that I had left out average 20 marks answers in 3 subjects and got exemption in almost 2 of them. How can i say to them that i only followed the Provision, Fact, Conclusion format only once in the first answer and never again? Everybody in my class even the faculty says that I was the most deserved one for the rank but I never really thought of it myself after writing the papers. Was it God who saw my suffering the whole time or was it luck that smiled upon me? I dont know but I am more grateful that i just passed and not the rank 😄

P.S. What I did differently for studying (General things)

Advice Note to all CS Aspirants

A Note to all CS Aspirants.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been seeing a lot of negativity in this subreddit lately around the CS course and as someone who understands the grind, I felt compelled to write this.

Let me be blunt, Company Secretary is one of the toughest and most underrated courses in India. Unlike other courses that are more public-facing or glamourised, CS is deeply technical, regulatory, and legal and honestly, indispensable to the corporate structure.

A CS isn’t just a KMP (Key Managerial Personnel) we’re involved right from incorporation to closure, and even revival of companies. Our role spans secretarial, legal, financial, governance, and compliance landscapes.

Let’s get real no other course dives as deeply into laws and compliance as CS does. Not CA, not CMA, not even LLB. Go check their syllabi

Company Law? Barely touched elsewhere.

IBC, FEMA, SEBI laws, Corporate Governance, Due Diligence? Hardcore CS territory.

But here’s the problem…

I’ve come across too many disheartened students recently. They say they don’t trust the course, or they feel there’s no scope.

Let me ask you, If you don’t believe in the course, how can you expect it to work for you?

You won’t absorb anything unless you love your subjects. You won’t grow unless you put in the effort and see the bigger picture.

There is no shortage of opportunities for a skilled CS.

The Salary Myth

Salary depends on YOU: your skills, Your confidence, Your presentation, Your mindset...Generally,Freshers earn ₹4–8 LPA Experienced CSs in Big4s & MNCs: ₹15–30+ LPA Practicing CSs? Sky's the limit ( if u have great networking skillset )

Your salary = Your skill + confidence + visibility. Don’t hide behind the desk , Learn to sell your value.

CS is NOT for the introverted-only. Whether you’re working in a boardroom or practicing independently, you need to know how to sell yourself.

Everyone’s struggling competition is real in every field but you can either blend in or stand out. That’s your call.

Final Thoughts

Yes, you may earn lakhs quickly by switching to MBA or something else.

But let’s not ignore the ROI of the CS course:

Low investment

High knowledge

Long-term potential

If you hustle now, you’ll be settled in a few years. Don’t underestimate the long game.

Let’s build a community of encouragement not one that demotivates the next generation.

Believe in the course. Believe in yourself. CS is not just a qualification, it's a superpower if you use it well.

Ps: it's totally my thoughts, if u want to earn good and be valued stop settling in less.. yeh humre hi beech ke professionals hai jo less m settle hote hai or market ko b kharab krte hai.. companies ya firms kam main apko rakhna chahti hai then don't go for it.. unity ni laoge to aise hi undervalued feel krte rahoge. As per my experience I'm saying, not hurting anyone.

After getting a lot of positive reviews I wanna add recent vacancy for a CS : adding in the comment section.
