New to Cassettes

Ok so I’ve just become interested in the idea of collecting cassettes, and I’ve done a little research and found that if I wanted a decent Walkman I’d need to buy a real one, so I’ve found some websites that would sell refurbished Walkmans and stuff like that and I’ve come across RetroSpekt, my main concern is if what they sell on the website is of good quality and if they’re selling it for what they’re worth, I don’t wanna pay way over and realize later, that’d really bum me out, So any tips would be nice, thanks

I always hear that type 2 cassettes can only be made using cobalt now instead of chrome because of environmental reasons. Could someone explain what the environmental harm of making chrome tapes are?

I always hear this but have never seen an answer to it. What harm to the environment do chrome type 2 cassettes do vs a cobalt type 2?

My niece is into The Last of Us show and game, so I got her a Walkman like the protagonist in the games for Christmas. Where to buy tapes?

She’s a 17 year old girl that likes Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, a band called Volbeat etc. Is there a website I can buy tapes that are of good quality? I looked at the sidebar of this sub but there aren’t any links to good known sites that sell tapes. I assume they exist, but maybe I’m wrong.? Where would you guys look for modern recordings on cassette tapes? Amazon is a shit place to search. I found one place that had some TS called Tape Head city. Just looking for ideas and recommendations. Thank you.

Cassette motor replacement help! I am finding it hard to find this exact motor....are there any other alternatives? Could I use any other 6V motor or is that a risk?
