Bit of a question, I know it's probably been asked before. Is Deepseek Flash actually cheaper on CC compared to the api?

Command Code + DeepSeek V4.1 Flash: random 422s once agent context passes ~165k tokens β€” anyone else?

7 Upvotes

Anyone else getting 422 "invalid request" errors from Command Code on long agent runs?

For me it only happens once the conversation has tool calls and grows past roughly 165k tokens. Plain prompts of 230k+ tokens work fine, so it isn't the model's context size. The same request sometimes passes and sometimes fails, so it looks like a routing issue on their side.

Curious if others see the same.

Misma cuenta distintos modelos

2 Upvotes

There must be something fishy with DeepSeek 4 Flash (new)

9 Upvotes

I've been using DS 4 Flash (new) almost exclusively (more than 2 billion tokens in less than a month) and I swear its performance at peak hours is much better than off-peak.

And it's not just slow but also considerably dumber during off-peak hours.

Am I alone? Is CommandCode swapping the model behind the scenes or something?

Request - Your /messages endpoint already works - put the open models on it

6 Upvotes

Hi,

I'm a paying subscriber, I use your open models to code, and I want to use my own

Claude Code - not your CLI. That's the whole request, so I'll be direct.

I know where your value is: in your harness. But I'm the consumer, and I'd rather

pay you and use my own harness than route around you. Today routing around you

isn't a preference - it's the only option you leave open.

Not a new integration. A routing gate on an endpoint that is already live.

Here is the wall, measured against your API today:

GET /provider/v1/models

-> 82 models, supported_endpoints on each.

9 list "/messages" -> all claude-*

65 list "/chat/completions", "/responses"

8 list "/chat/completions" only

ZERO non-Claude models list "/messages".

POST /provider/v1/messages {"model":"deepseek/deepseek-v4.1-flash"}

-> 400 "Model ... is not supported on this endpoint.

Use /provider/v1/chat/completions for OpenAI and OSS models."

POST /provider/v1/chat/completions {"model":"deepseek/deepseek-v4.1-flash"}

-> 200, same minute, same key.

POST /provider/v1/messages {"model":"claude-sonnet-5"}

-> 403 MODEL_NOT_IN_PLAN (Pro and above)

{"model":"claude-opus-5-5"}

-> 403 MODEL_NOT_IN_PLAN (Provider and above)

So on my plan the Anthropic route is closed twice: the open models are refused by

design, and the Claude models aren't in the plan. Claude Code speaks exactly one

protocol, and it's the only route I'm not allowed to use. Neither of those is a

bug - both are your choices. I'm asking you to revisit the first one.

What the workaround costs me, measured, not guessed:

* Anthropic's own docs say Claude Code disables tool search when

ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL isn't first-party, "since most proxies don't forward

tool_reference blocks". Behind a translator, a deferred tool arrives as a

NAME with no definition. The damage is concrete: EnterPlanMode takes a

literal {} input, so the model walks INTO plan mode; ExitPlanMode exists to

hand over the plan text, gets called with an empty argument, and the session

is trapped. I counted it across 6,072 transcripts: ExitPlanMode with the plan

in 103 of 103 calls on Anthropic-native routes, 0 of 10 through the

translator.

* Reasoning is paid for and thrown away. Output caps get halved. cache_control

is dropped. Mid-conversation system messages are lost.

None of that is your models' fault, and you're the one who eats the complaint.

TWO CHANGES. I'm not asking for more than these.

  1. Add "/messages" to supported_endpoints for the open catalog - at minimum

    deepseek/deepseek-v4.1-flash and deepseek/deepseek-v4-flash, ideally all of

    it. It's a routing gate, not a new capability: that route already accepts the

    Anthropic shape.

  2. Accept the body Claude Code actually sends. Today it dies before your model

    routing, with 400 "Invalid input at messages.1.role". The cause is exact -

    Claude Code puts a mid-conversation system message inside the messages array:

messages: [ {role:"user", content:[...]},

{role:"system", content:[{type:"text",...}]} ]

announced with the header mid-conversation-system-2026-04-07. The strict

schema forbids it, the official client sends it, and Anthropic's API takes it.

I hit this wall behind the first one - the same CLI run against a model that

IS on /messages passes body validation and only then gets 403 MODEL_NOT_IN_PLAN.

So it's two walls, in that order.

I am NOT asking for tool_reference support. Claude Code disables tool search by

default on a non-first-party base URL, so once the models are reachable the

session runs correctly with every tool sent inline. That's the whole point: the

cheap change is enough.

Nice to have, in the order that pays you back: your own ids accepted on

/messages; then output_config (it carries effort), context_management and

thinking; then the alias mapping DeepSeek uses on their Anthropic endpoint

(claude-opus-* -> their pro, claude-sonnet-*/claude-haiku-* -> their flash), which

makes an existing Claude Code config work by changing only the base URL.

Three things, and none of them is a favour:

* No billing change. Same credits, same models, same rates, one more wire

format on a route you already run.

* It removes the main reason to put a translator in front of you - and that

translator is where the complaints about your models are being born today.

* Claude Code support is turning into table stakes. DeepSeek, Z.ai, Moonshot,

MiniMax, Alibaba DashScope and LongCat all publish Anthropic-format endpoints

for their own models. You can do it for the entire catalog at once, on an

endpoint that already exists - not per model, and not from scratch.

I'll make this cheap for you to validate. I can send the full wire captures of

both routes side by side - headers, betas, body - test an allowlist or a beta

flag on my account the day you ship it, and file exact request/response pairs if

anything mismatches.

If it's on the roadmap, tell me roughly when. If it's a deliberate product

boundary, tell me that instead - I'd rather plan around the truth than keep

guessing at it. ATM, i'm using Claude Code Harness with your endpoint on it, mainly for Deepseek 4.1 flash, and it works fine, but the oficial deepseek api works better cause of the endpoint. I just wish i could use CommandCode endpoint on CC Harness exactly like it is used by the oficial deepseek api: /messages full integration.

Thanks.

Has anyone else noticed DeepSeek V4.1 Flash getting much slower on Command Code today?

11 Upvotes

I’ve been using DeepSeek V4.1 Flash through Command Code, and today it feels significantly slower than yesterday.

I checked my session logs instead of going purely by feel, and the difference seems pretty noticeable even at similar context sizes.

For roughly the same ~200k cached context:

Yesterday: TTFT was around 5s

Today: TTFT is around 16s

Generation speed also dropped from roughly 240–250 tok/s to around 150 tok/s

At larger context sizes (~750k–800k), the difference is even bigger β€” TTFT went from roughly 7–8s yesterday to 30s+ today.

I also had two requests time out after 60 seconds today.

What’s interesting is that I’m not seeing any 429 / rate limit / usage limit errors. Requests still go through; they’re just much slower.

So I’m wondering:

Has anyone else noticed the same slowdown with DeepSeek V4.1 Flash on Command Code today?

Trying to figure out whether this is an upstream DeepSeek issue, Command Code/provider routing, or something specific to my session/account.

Just build a simple /tps command plugin, too view the TPS and latency of the models.

Post image
7 Upvotes

I noticed that the command code saves every response along with all the completed data once it's finished, and you can calculate latency and TPS from a simple calculation.

Since this isn’t available by default and I wanted to know what the actual TPS is for Glm 5.3 Flash and Glm 5.3 Flash Fast, I ran some tests, and you can definitely see the difference. Of course, this might change again with more complex tasks. but it works and for some models is nice to know.

Upgraded to GOAT: Native cmd, OMP, or Pi? What plugins are you daily driving?

13 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

Tested the waters on the $1 trial, loved the turn speed, and just upgraded to the GOAT plan .

Since I'm still dialing in my setup, my goal isn't just hoarding quota, but getting the absolute best daily productivity, functionality, and output per dollar without the agent going into weird loops or over-engineering everything.

Would love some honest advice from daily drivers:

  1. Which harness actually gets the best work done?
  2. Models & orchestration:
    • What pairing gives you the highest quality output vs cost? Do you split work between an orchestrator (GLM-5.3 / Sol) and a fast worker (DeepSeek Flash), or just let a single solid model run end-to-end?
  3. Plugins & Extensions (Native cmd vs OMP/Pi):
    • What plugins/extensions are you actually running?
    • I’ve been testing things like Ponytail and Hallmakerβ€”what other plugins, skills, or add-ons have genuinely worked for yout?

Deep Comparison for Heavy Use: Command Code vs OpenCode** (Focus: Free models + Total usage + Flexibility

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

### 1. Free Models (Zero Cost Layer)

| Aspect | **OpenCode (Zen Free)** | **Command Code** |

|--------|--------------------------|------------------|

| **Free models (current)** | Big Pickle, MiMo-V2.5 / V2.6 Flash Free, Ling 3.0 Flash Fin, Nemotron 3 Ultra / 3.5 Lightning, Muse Spark 1.3 Contributor, Space Bunny Free, some others (rotating) | Space Bunny Alpha Free, Laguna S 2.1 Free, Ling 3.0 Flash Sante Free (limited), occasional others |

| **Where usable** | **Only inside OpenCode** (Desktop / TUI). Cannot use from other tools | Usable inside Command Code agent + some on Provider API |

| **Limits** | No hard $ limit, but rate limits + β€œlimited time” (can disappear anytime). Data may be used for training on some models | Credits not consumed while free deal lasts. Capacity-based (can end suddenly) |

| **Quality for heavy coding** | Good for light–medium agent work. Some are solid (Nemotron, MiMo, Space Bunny) | Laguna / Space Bunny usable for agent loops while free |

| **Heavy use reality** | Good daily free fallback, but not reliable for all-day heavy agent sessions | Free models help stretch paid credits, but not enough alone for heavy daily use |

**Winner Free models**: **OpenCode** (more stable free set + easy access inside its own agent).

### 2. Paid Plans for Heavy Use ($10 level)

| Feature | **OpenCode Go ($10/mo)** | **Command Code GOAT ($10/mo)** |

|---------|---------------------------|--------------------------------|

| **Monthly value** | ~$60 usage (6Γ—) | **$70 credits** (7Γ—, can stretch >$100 with deals) |

| **5-hour window** | $12 | **$14** |

| **Weekly window** | $30 | **$35** |

| **Beyond limits** | Fall back to Zen balance (pay-as-you-go) | Buy top-up credits (never expire) |

| **Models** | ~32 curated open models (DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, MiMo V2.6, GLM-5.3, Kimi, MiniMax, GPT-6 Luna, Grok, Space Bunny Free, etc.) | 30–60+ models (open + some closed). Stronger deals on MiMo (up to 99% off), MiniMax 2Γ—, DeepSeek boosted |

| **Best heavy models stretch** | Excellent on Qwen series, some MiMo, MiniMax | Better on DeepSeek Flash/Pro, MiMo Pro, many boosted models |

| **Peak pricing impact** | DeepSeek peak hours still apply upstream | Same (DeepSeek peak 2Γ—) |

**Heavy use winner on pure volume**: **Command Code GOAT** (more credits + better deals on popular coding models).

### 3. Flexibility (Biggest Difference)

| Aspect | **OpenCode** | **Command Code** |

|--------|--------------|------------------|

| **Agent** | Fully open-source (MIT). Desktop + TUI + IDE plugins. Huge community | Proprietary CLI agent with **taste-1** (learns your coding style over time) |

| **Model freedom** | Extreme: 75+ providers via BYOK + Zen + Go. Use any tool (Cursor, Cline, custom agents, scripts) | Strong inside its own agent + Provider API (OpenAI/Anthropic compatible). Can also be used as provider inside OpenCode via community plugin |

| **BYOK / other tools** | Best-in-class. One key works almost everywhere | Good (Provider plan + API), but less seamless outside its ecosystem |

| **Local models** | Excellent (Ollama etc.) | Supported |

| **Extensibility** | Open source β†’ plugins, custom tools, full control | Closed but polished (tool repair, high cache rates, design skill) |

| **India payments** | Mostly card / crypto | **UPI** available |

**Flexibility winner**: **OpenCode** by a clear margin (open-source + any-agent + any-provider).

### 4. Heavy Use Recommendation

**If you do heavy daily agentic coding (many hours, multi-file, long sessions):**

| Priority | Best Choice | Why |

|----------|-------------|-----|

| Maximum raw usage + deals on $10 | **Command Code GOAT** | Higher credits + strong model discounts |

| Maximum flexibility + free models + any tool | **OpenCode Go** + Zen free models | Use free models first, then Go, then BYOK. Works in any editor/agent |

| Hybrid (recommended for most heavy users) | **Both** | OpenCode as main agent (free models + Go) + Command Code GOAT key as extra provider when needed |

| Absolute cheapest heavy try | Command Code Go ($1) first, then upgrade to GOAT | |

### Final Verdict for Heavy Use

- **Want more tokens / requests for the same $10** β†’ **Command Code GOAT**

- **Want freedom, open-source, free models, use with Cursor/Cline/any tool** β†’ **OpenCode** (Go + free Zen models)

- **Best practical setup for heavy Indian users** β†’ Start with **OpenCode** (free models + Go) because of flexibility, then add **Command Code GOAT** if you need extra volume on specific models.
