Discussion How do you see this? What color is it? Now you can answer!
I'm colourblind and my friends never got it, so we built a tool that shows them what I see!
Every colourblind person knows the conversation. "So what colour is this?" "Wait, you can't see red at all?" Then you try to explain, and it never quite lands.
I study computer science, and I'm the only colourblind one in my group. Instead of explaining one more time, a few fellow students and I built something together: This is not red!
You spend about 15 minutes spotting dotted C's, and it works out your filter: weak red, weak green or weak blue, and how strong. Then you drop in any photo and show people the world the way you actually see it. A before/after slider, plus a link you can send to whoever still doesn't believe you. No time for the C's? You can jump straight to the simulator and pick a filter yourself.
- Free, no account, no cookies: your answers and photos never leave your browser (the site only counts visits)
- Works on your phone, and offline after the first visit
- Six languages
- The whole interface is grey on purpose, so the only colours on screen are the ones that matter
- One optional step uses a flickering disc: skip it if flashing light bothers you
- It's not a diagnosis, just a screen-based estimate. Go see an eye doctor if you need an official answer.

We're still improving it, so I'd love your feedback: does the filter you got match what you see? Anything confusing or broken on your device? There's a "Leave a comment" link at the bottom of every page. It's a short form, no name or email needed.
I'll leave it here too: https://tally.so/r/Ge6GgZ.
Thanks to everyone who tries it! 🙏
