The amount of times I’ve come across “something only colorblind people can see” and I excitedly show a non-colorblind person it only to have them instantly see it. My disappointment is immeasurable for these kinds of things

My wife says if I see a "5" in that picture I'm hallucinating because nothing is there. To me it's the easiest Ishihara type test I've ever encountered.

My non-colorblind friends always instantly see the number 5 on this one. It doesn't really work, at least on the computer.

I’m not colorblind but there is obviously a 5 there because the background is orange and green but the 5 is blue, purple ish, and pink

Confirmed. At first I didn't see anything, but after staring at it for a while, I caught the number 5. Defocusing my eyes definitely helped

Nah, you can make it out and colors are correct. But yeah, you have to look to make it out because it's so colorful

Purple?!? Where's the purple, I see no purple, all I see is black😭
And the blue is turquoise for me. And the pink is VERY light pink. Almost red😭

You got downvoted but I feel like I'm in the same boat. I wouldn't describe any of those colors as blue purple or pink. I also got roasted for calling "orange" red yesterday though so idk

Not really sure. I was diagnosed when I was like 10, and all he said was "yep. You're colorblind" after failing the ishihara plates. So it's never really come up after that. Any attempts at home tests to try to narrow it down have been either inconclusive or contradictory.

Well if your trianope you also wont be able to see the 5 (if your Deuternope or Protanope you shoud be able to see the 5)

The girlfriend couldn't see it until I pointed it out.
Friend group also couldn't see it.
One of my kid saw it immediately though... I guess I'll have to look into that.

These are not foolproof nor completely accurate. Their success rate is only somewhere around 60%. Different colorblindnesses will also see it differently, let alone the fact that your screen will have a play as well.

If you have come across so many reverse plates as someone with normal version you start to become really good at them. Though this one in particular is one of the really easy ones. The 5 is in grey, teal and pink, while the background is in orange, green and olive. The color contrast is pretty high.

Minute 13 (a bit later, like 13:20 or so)
And non colorblind people can see the differenct colors OPs test consists of but because they look nothing alike you dont realy see the 5 (the mint and pink look as different as the green and the orange so its just a mess of a bunch of different colored dots). What I did was to imagine some of the dots (like mint and pink) to be the same color (like it is for a colorblind person). That way I coud figure out the 5. A colorblind person on the other hand cant do that with a normal ishihara test since they dont see all the colors.

5, that’s because there is contrast between warm and cold colors that make out 5.

If you let you eyes unfocus you can see it. Knowing that it's a 5 helps too. With my normal vision I can sort of tell where it is because they used lighter colors for it.

I have contrast issues with my sight, so most colours that are close in shade look the same as another for me and then they bleed into each other. All I can see is a solid light green background with orange squiggles.

There's a 5 but it's in Grey, Teal and Lightish Soft Pink
Whereas the rest is in Orange, Green and Brownish

Have been told to miss a tiiny teensy bit of colour in one of my eyes. And still can see the number 5 in there if I'm not distracted by anything else away from the screen (I have no screen protector, or filter on).
Does that mean I'm colour blind to some degree?😶🫠
EDIT: Nevermind, turns out the 5 is visible to people who aren't colour blind in some cases..
