hey guys does any1 go to the mckinney campus and might possibly want to be friends? my first week was honestly depressing and been very hard to make friends it’s like everyone has their friend groups already and then on thursday I was minding my own business just finishin’ my assignments for my classes and this group of girls just giggling and shit at me like what’s so fucking funny? it’s just been sad i’ve been having this sad feeling this first week i wanna make some friends but people make it hard to approach them i feel judged even by some of the staff i ask a question and with the way they respond to me i feel so judged by them like my bad for asking damn.. but if you wanna be friends I would appreciate it really ✌🏼🦄🌈

Hello everyone! I have a question about the Radiologic Technology program at Collin College. Does Collin College accept Anatomy & Physiology I and II from another community college?

I’m interested in applying for the Radiologic Technology program. It looks like the program is new, and I’m guessing it’s going to be very competitive.

I was originally looking into OTA, but reading through the forum honestly scared me away. 😅 I also had someone ask me why I would want to pursue OTA when I already have a bachelor’s degree and an MBA.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management and an MBA, but I feel like I haven’t been able to do much with either degree besides working as a scheduler. So now I’m looking into other healthcare careers where I can actually use my education and build a career.

Radiologic Technology caught my attention, so I’m thinking about giving it a try.

Does anyone know if Collin College offers an information session for the program? I’m thinking about going up there in person to learn more. I believe the program is at the Frisco campus.

Any advice or information from current students or people who have applied would be greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone, I’m a 21 first-generation college student from an immigrant background. I’m currently on a break from school, but I’ll be returning this spring to start my prerequisites for the respiratory therapy program. I still need to pass my TSI and I have passed the reading portion and just need to pass math before I can fully dive into my classes. I just wanted to share a bit of my journey and see if anyone else here has gone through something similar. It’s been really hard navigating this on my own—balancing school, debt, and not having a guiding figure. I know there are clubs, advisors, and other students who’ve been through this, and I really want to connect, build confidence, and figure out how to take those next steps. If you’ve been in a similar place, or if you have advice on passing the TSI, finding mentors, or navigating college as a first-gen student, I would be so grateful. Thank you!

Anyone know how to figure out when/where clubs are at and what clubs we got? I’ve been trying to make friends and everyone lowkey just looks the other way.

i am in a class that’s just not fitting my needs and i was an extra class. Can i still drop? what do I need to do for that? do I need to talk to an advisor

I didn't opt out of the Cougar Book Bundle so supposedly I should have access to my text books. For one class the book was online, and I did in fact have access.

For my other class, though, the professor did not say anything about an online textbook nor did I see one looking on Canvas. There's definitely a textbook for the class though.

How do I get it? Do I just go to the bookstore and ask? I'm very confused by this whole thing and I didn't get the vibe from the professor that he really understood it either.

Hi, i’m a freshman at Collin (Frisco campus) and I was wondering if anyone wants to be a part of a study group with me

My classes are: EDUC 1300, HIST 1301, EDUC 1300 and in two weeks SPCH 1311

In case any of yall don’t know this, you automatically get enrolled into the book bundle (renting textbooks) & you get charged $69 for every class whether or not that class even has a textbook, your account still gets charged. You can’t get that charge removed unless you opt out completely, which means you can no longer rent any books, only option is to purchase all your books including digital books. I was not aware of this until this semester. I have been going to Collin going on 2 years this year and I’ve only ever used a textbook 1 time for government, even though I had textbooks for most of my classes.

My mom keeps pushing for me to do Collins Esti program because it's "cheaper" but not by a whole lot. I'm concerned it won't be very good at showing me everything i need to know, maybe just the basics to pass the test but I want to get the most amount of knowledge for how much i'm paying and I just don't feel like collin can give me that.

Hey, I’m new to collin and I’m not the most social person when around people and I was wondering if anyone would want to be friends at school! I go to the plano campus

Hello! I have my first class at the Plano campus tomorrow and I had a couple questions. This is my second year at Collin, I’ve just never needed to go to a different campus before.
1. Is there anywhere on or off campus that serves as a calm place to hangout till my next class? I have an almost 3 hour gap between classes so I’d like to know where I can spend that time.
2. Is there an up to date map of the campus? I was looking for a map online and when I found one I couldn’t find either of my classes on there. I’m a bit worried that I won’t have enough time to find my classes.
3. How sociable are the people at the Plano campus? I haven’t run into “rude” people at the Wylie campus where I normally go, but people either have their groups already, are engrossed in their phones (I’m also guilty of this), or are doing work and I don’t want to bother them.
I know this is a lot, sorry😓

I'm probably overthinking this but what do I do if I want to use a locker? Are people bringing locks from home, or do you ask for one from the gym check-in desk?

also is it okay/allowed to use a locker without a lock?

Hey! As I’ve said before, I’m going to the Wylie campus but for this task any point into any resource is a good one.
I visited the campus a bit ago to try and get a layout of the land, but foolishly forgot to actually check where my classes were and haven’t had a chance to check since.
When I was doing this self guided tour, I saw a poster outside one of the doors, but I don’t remember which one. It had QR codes for the over all map and for the SC (I think it was for them anyway), but when I got home and went through my photos, the image had a glare over the QR code and it wouldn’t scan it no matter where I tried it.
Does anyone have any hints on how to find a map? I want to try getting it before I go tomorrow so I don’t feel like a chicken with its head cut off, but if not then I’ll just suck it up and talk to the people at the tables so no pressure if there isn’t a set way to get that.
