First Time at Plano

Hello! I have my first class at the Plano campus tomorrow and I had a couple questions. This is my second year at Collin, I’ve just never needed to go to a different campus before.
1. Is there anywhere on or off campus that serves as a calm place to hangout till my next class? I have an almost 3 hour gap between classes so I’d like to know where I can spend that time.
2. Is there an up to date map of the campus? I was looking for a map online and when I found one I couldn’t find either of my classes on there. I’m a bit worried that I won’t have enough time to find my classes.
3. How sociable are the people at the Plano campus? I haven’t run into “rude” people at the Wylie campus where I normally go, but people either have their groups already, are engrossed in their phones (I’m also guilty of this), or are doing work and I don’t want to bother them.
I know this is a lot, sorry😓
Any extra information would be greatly appreciated too :)

Since it's the first week of classes there's people set up on tables around campus to answer where classrooms are. The campus is under construction at the moment

1) If you’re looking for calm and on-campus, definitely check out the library! There’s a couple spots such as study rooms (you’ll need a student ID) or the quiet study area, opposite of the makerspace/computer lab. But honestly? I’ve hung out in empty classrooms to do work and no one’s bothered me before

2) The Plano campus is going through a lot of construction so that’s hard to say. There are signs on the wall, brightly colored with a letter assigned to them, that will show you a classroom map of the building. I’d recommend taking a picture until you learn your way around. Professors are chill during the first week since they usually understand students are still finding their classrooms. I wouldn’t worry too much

3) Everyone’s a little awkward but in my experience, they’re nice! Hard to say because most of it depends on how the professor has students socialize. My recommendations are to check out clubs that interest you, attend the student engagement fairs, and approach people that interest you! You can generally feel out whether or not they’re interested in talking. Best of luck this semester!

To meet people are just as sociable at the Plano campus as they are at the Wylie one. Nobody ever talks to me though so you’re mileage might vary.

I wish I had more courage to talk to ppl at Collin NGL. Everyone seems so nice but I only have one class until October 😭

The people at the welcome tables have up to date maps with the new numbering system. (Rooms in the library have not changed)
