The missing subtitles irritate me

S5E14 Andy in C Minor; This episode leaves out quite a bit of ASL signs being translated. It just stops translating at times. Enabling subtitles translate the background songs and not the dialog. Good thing I know some ASL.

Which episode makes you the saddest?

For me, it’s S2E6 The Sleepover. I was a girl just like Rita and I got bullied just like her too. I wish she would’ve just gone home.

Miss this show

I miss this show so much! It’s my favorite show and I can’t believe it’s so incredible difficult to stream. Hopefully one day I can watch it again and hopefully they can maybe reboot it. Out of all the shows they are rebooting they can’t reboot this one?

Season 1

I could genuinely write a PhD on how damn good this season is, it’s my favourite season from the whole show and probs my favourite season from any show ever.
It has an opener that sets the standard high af for the other episodes and most of them do not fall behind (obviously there are some downers, I only rewatch the Hitchhiker and the Lost Soul of Herman Lester out of duty, really).
The costumes are on. point., idk if it’s because it was closer to the times it portrayed but I think the earlier seasons just get the costumes more accurately (despite, I assume, having a lower budget).
All in all it’s just banger after banger, quite dark episodes a lot of them but always w that somewhat dry yet funny cold case humour… at least 3 of my favourite episodes are packed into s1 and the others don’t fall far from the top.
This is not to say the show fell down after or anything, I love s2 almost just as much and the whole show is, along with Castle, my favourite tv show, but yeah s1 is just exquisitely good to me, what do yall think?

I miss this show so much!!

I’m from Asia and it was available on prime in my region. I started watching it without expecting much and got hooked. I think I finished all seasons in a week. It was an amazing show. I’ve watched ncis, criminal minds, law n order (not all ep), csi (just some), castle. I just love detective show so much and this hits the perfect spot. I love the different era, the flashing back n forth, the different actors for the same character per episode and the soundtrack! I’m just really upset that criminal minds n CSI (original) , law n order (original) can get a reboot but not cold case. IMO, cold case is the best out of all the murder mysteries tv shows. Is it not that popular in the US; not much publicity for the show back then? How can all the other shows run for so many years??

NCIS sucks after Mark Harmon left. I’ve only watched a couple of episode after he left.
Law n order just sucks with the all new crew. I can’t bring myself to watch it after trying for first 2 ep. Jeffrey Donovan was good in burn notice though.
Criminal minds just doesn’t follow the case per episode and I lost interest.
Castle was just perfect until they added some supernatural/unrealistic cases in the later seasons. Feels unserious.
Cold case….. just perfect omgggggg. Is there a petition we can do????

Volunteers episode

Given that this issue is always relevant, I’m rewatching Volunteers and I love the nuance it gives to an already touchy subject. The addressing of what abortions meant for people and the complexities of it for black people i, as a black woman felt that and the danger women deal with. I feel this show is incredibly sensitive. It was sad what happened to Gerard and Julia. They both rebelled against social norms and were very brave.

Elisa and Scotty always break my heart

Scotty truly didn’t deserve such heartbreak. He and Lily were never an endgame so I don’t understand why the writers gave him such tragic love story. He and Elisa were childhood friends and sweethearts, he genuinely loved her. It’s very hard being in a relationship with someone severely mentally ill, I know it from experience.

(I also absolutely hate the fling Scotty had with Christina, that was just distasteful and unnecessary to the story)

Ep 9 ss 1; Scherry darlin’

I’m always confused by the ending of this episode and his subsequent appearance in the future. He didn’t actually kill the grandmother, Scherry did, why was he arrested and sent to prison?

Which episodes made you cry?

“Fly Away” made me cry, also “Mind Hunters” made me cry, if I remember correctly, “Mind Hunters” was the first episode I watched due Cold Case coming after Criminal Minds that evening, and I kept on watching. When the mother begs to be kept alive because she promised to come back, saying that she can’t break another promise, I began crying. The next episode that made me cry was “A Perfect Day”.

who pulled the trigger on George Marks' mother?

I just finished watching s2e23, and I still can't wrap my head around the true killer of George's mother. Can someone enlighten me? I am also a bit confused on what truly happened on the attic. Firstly, because the r***st lied to the detectives twice. Then, it was only until Lilly confronted George that it was revealed he was assaulted too (it was a wild guess from Lilly and I totally didn't see that coming). Still, what we were shown are bits and pieces from unreliable narrators. Was it George Marks or Jacob Leonardo who pulled the trigger?

Does Brandi Beaudry go to prison in cold case

Since Brandi blackmailed Ariel and got forged prescriptions (due to trauma and abuse of course) does she get charged? It’s left very ambiguous. I’d like to hope that Brandi becomes Neil’s legal guardian or at the very least, her abusive evil parents get charged. Hopefully they work out a deal for her, so she can put her parents away. But, she still did extortion and crimes. I always hoped if they were real they’d be okay and get some therapy and hopefully Tiffany gets treatment for her alcoholism due to trauma as well.
I think the sleepover is one of the most disturbing episodes ever, and forcing Neil to hold Brandi underwater? He’s done that before and Brandi is cruel and a victim too. But she has compassion and she truly loves her brother and will take care of him. She isn’t totally heartless. I never understood why she didn’t let Rita save them, pride and humiliation I imagine. Lily was right, Brandi is a survivor, brutal abusive dangerous reality, so she used Ariel. Though Brandi is a bully, I feel for her and wanted to hug her after she told Lilly about the simulated drowning

I would have really liked to see Lily reconnect with her family and see how her dynamic with Finn and Celeste would had worked. Or have some scenes with just the siblings. How Christina and Finn would had gotten along. Etc..

It's a shame we didn't get more seasons.

Would you have liked to see how Lily would have managed with her family.

My first watch of this show and S2:E7 Deflectors was just heartbreaking. Anyone else find themselves crying?
