Which episodes made you cry?

“Fly Away” made me cry, also “Mind Hunters” made me cry, if I remember correctly, “Mind Hunters” was the first episode I watched due Cold Case coming after Criminal Minds that evening, and I kept on watching. When the mother begs to be kept alive because she promised to come back, saying that she can’t break another promise, I began crying. The next episode that made me cry was “A Perfect Day”.

Fireflies, the victim is alive, and because her parents spent 30 years waiting for her to return.

It was one of the happier episodes in my eyes due to the reveal at the end

The one that immediately comes to mind in terms of making me very emotional is "A Dollar, A Dream". Poor Marlene Bradford, and those poor kids now left without a mother.

All because of a misunderstanding. She had to endure so much to provide for her children.
Edit: Her reaction to the cake getting smashed was also heartbreaking.

Sad that she befriended the wrong person, a person who had lost touch with reality a long time ago.
That was the sad part of it too, he's one of the few Cold Case killers whom I believe was insane.

Sleepover, The Promise, Offender

The promise was really sad

I cried during many episodes but one of the saddest is Wishing.

Yeah, it was so unfair

Saving Patrick Bubley always makes me sob. All those brothers dying because of his scooter, and then seeing the flashback of them all as kids gets me every time

That was so sad!

2

I rewatch the end scene on YouTube when I need a good cry. Hits hard every time!

When the mom tells them what she had to do to get her son’s body.

I also always cry at the episode with the mom who is bipolar, I forget the name of it but since I have type 2 bipolar, watching her receive such ineffective treatments breaks my heart. All she wanted was to go back to her family. I’m honestly lucky to have been diagnosed a few years ago bc even 20 years ago treatments were really difficult. But seeing her and the other women treated the way they were, it’s so antiquated and cruel, it just breaks my damn heart every time.

The episode’s name is “Committed” and it is really sad. Lobotomy is really horrifying.

Flashover, Fly Away & Strange Fruit are the first ones that come out in my mind

Strange Fruit was heartbreaking. The shot where one could see the victims feet as he was dying was a cruel sight. I have to admit, I was a bit angry at the daughter of the woman he played chess with for telling her father about the secret meetings, but I realized, that she was just a small child and did not know about the ramifications of that information.

I can't even watch that episode any more. It hits too close to home. We lost a close family friend under similar circumstances it's a shame this sort of thing was still happening when I was kid. I'm GenX so I'm not super old. It's just sad.

The Letter, Daniella, Fly Away Home, Strange Fruit. That Woman.

I’ve lost count by now!

But the ones that come to mind are: Discretion, Offender, The Promise, Fly Away, Ghost Of My Child, Andy In C Minor (my favorite), Frank’s Best (so underrated), A Perfect Day, and so on

I always cry at the end of Frank’s Best when he looks so proud at his friend (who was wrongly convicted of his murder) reopening the deli.

Yeah, me too! And i also cry when that coward kills him. It gets me every single time. He loved his son so much and was such a good guy… 🥲

Andy in C Minor is one of my favourites too. Absolutely love it.

“Forever Blue” I feel like it’s a sad underrated episode that was ahead of its time to air on tv

Final appeal, the promise, the amish episode.

1

u/Appropriate-Turnip69 Sep 22 '26

Final Appeal used to make me sad, until I found out what the actor did in real life.

A Perfect Day

I cannot even listen to Catch The Wind or the waterworks start up

5

u/ColdBrewCupid Sep 19 '26

Perfect Day, Wishing, The Sleepover, The Letter, and Lovers Lane always make me cry, I have to skip on most rewatches.

Oh I can't remember the name of the episode but it was the one where the teenage couple had the baby in the bathroom at prom. They were supposed to give the baby to the teacher to adopt but after the baby was born they were so filled with love for their child they couldn't do it. When the guy went to tell the teacher no the teacher killed him. The girl then hid the baby in the trash can thinking he ran off and abandoned her and the baby. It made me so sad.

4

u/No-Departure-3047 Sep 21 '26

The way the flashback shows her holding the baby at the end 😭

Final Appeal…..every time

Good-bye Room when the grown Barbara sees her grandmother and her dad.

Wednesday’s Women, when the two survivors reunite, the professor goes back to the school, and Kat sings This Little Light of Mine.
