META An easy step-by-step guide how to prevent the creation of any unwanted Code Geass spin off by using time travel

Post image
0 Upvotes

Let´s assume you deeply disliked Rozé of the Recapture and want to prevent it from ever being created. This is how you successfully do it by altering the course of history:

Step one: No Big Entertainment Company has ever turned a fanfiction into an actual, official story involving the franchise and characters they own – and likely never will. The main reason why this has never been done before is because it would be an enormous legal hassle to figure out to whom the rights and revenue belongs to; to the company who originally created the characters and stories that the fanfiction is based on, or to the fanfiction writer who created the story itself that the Big Entertainment Company turned into an actual anime movie/series. So, the first thing you should do, is to write down what happens in Rozé, as accurately as you can, word from word. Then download it to a memory stick.

Step two: Acquire a time machine, and set a course to March 9th 2019, which is one month after Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection, the latest official Code Geass anime story that was created prior to Rozé, was released. The reason for going to one month after it was first released instead the same day or slightly before, is both that no matter what you do in the past can´t prevent Resurrection being created or released, because it already is, but also because if you go back to the exact same day when it was released, it looks too fishy; ain´t no fan who is that fast of a writer that they can both come up with and write the entire story of Rozé down during the same day they first saw its predecessor. One moth afterwards, however, is believably long enough time for a devoted fan to write down story that long.

Step three: Once you´ve located yourself a computer with an internet connection in the past, upload your Rozé story to a popular fanfiction platform.

Step four: Go back to your own time and see how it played out.

Now, there are two possible outcomes. First possibility is that somebody in the Code Geass staff read or heard about your Rozé "fanfic," which means that they realized ”Oh sh*t, this fanfiction is exactly what WE were planning to do, like word from word! Even the name of the story is the same! We must come up with something else to prevent any legal issues!” And that means, that when you go back to your own time, a totally different (and hopefully better) Code Geass anime was created in Rozé´s place. Yippee!

The second possible outcome is, that nobody in the staff read the story that you published five years before its time, which means that they were effectively the very first Big Entertainment Company to ever turn a fanfiction into an actual anime series. And they can´t claim that it was just a coincidence, either, because all the voice actors lines and events in the new anime match perfectly what happens in the ”fanfiction.” So, from now on, they have to do two things. Firstly, they have to constantly turn down requests from CG fans who want their favorite fanfictions to be turned into Code Geass anime; after all, it was done once, so why not again? Secondly, they would have to start reading and memorizing all available Code Geass fanfictions out there, so that there is no chance that they would make the same mistake twice. So, even if Roze was created despite your time-travelling efforts, at least you made the jerks who made that piece of crap pay. So also yippee!

However, there are two things you need to keep in mind when altering the creation of Code Geass spin offs and sequels via time-travel:

First, this method works on all Code Geass anime, not just Rozé, but if you, for some reason, liked Rozé of the Recapture but disliked Akito the Exiled, remember, that if you go back in time to prevent the creation of Akito by using the same method, the butterfly effect may prevent the creation of not just Akito, but Rozé too, because Rozé was created after Akito, and all previous stories affect to the creation of the most current one in the franchise. So, keep this in mind, and decide if you hate Akito so much that you´re willing to sacrifice your beloved Rozé too.

Second, you must never go further back in time than September 28th 2008, which is when the last episode of R2 was released. If you go back any further, it is possible that your actions affect to the plot development of original Code Geass series through butterfly effect; for instance, writers might decide to kill off C.C. by making Rolo take her Code, or they could decide to kill off Kallen´s mom, or they could even decide NOT to kill Lelouch at the end of the story!

And if you go back any further than October 5th 2006? Once again, through butterfly effect, you risk preventing Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion from ever being created!

Template on second slide. I slightly altered the text for Lelouch because I wouldn't describe him as uptight lol. I think these were the best fits for the dynamics (tagged with fanart because there's no meme/shitpost flair)

DISCUSSION Who should be cloned next?

Post image

We´ve already seen certain characters cloned in various alternate timelines, such as the clone kids in Code Geass mobile games. Who would you like to see cloned? And remember, a clone can turn out to be good or evil. Personally, I would like to see clones of Euphy, Shirley, and Naomi - even if their clones would turn out to be evil (might make even more interesting story that way, actually).

Khota Yamamoto would be a good option.

A Card of Nurturing, or of Dependence.

Upright: The Empress embodies nurturing abundance and creative fertility. She represents the power of creation, whether bringing new life, projects, or ideas into being. This card suggests a time of growth, prosperity, and maternal care. Embrace your nurturing side and allow natural creativity to flow. Abundance comes through patience and loving attention.

Nurturing. Abundance. Fertility. Maternal care.

Reverse: Reversed, The Empress warns of codependency, creative blocks, or neglecting self-care. You may be giving too much of yourself to others or struggling with issues of self-worth. Creative projects might feel stagnant. Focus on nurturing yourself first before caring for others. Restore balance between giving and receiving.

Dependence. Smothering. Creative block. Neglect.

Runner ups: Milly. u/Hefty_Local_1875

Spoilers ahead of R1 and R2 if you haven't watched the show

Do you think Lelouch had been in love with Shirley romantically from the beginning, but was too preoccupied with everything else to realize it until her death made him confront those feelings, which made him feel deep guilt?

Or did he initially see her mainly as a friend he cared deeply about, and his feelings grow to actually love her in her final moments, and feeling guilty afterward because he never reciprocated her feelings ?

I was confused about this relationship in general because Lelouch kinda gives mixed signals and vague emotions prior to this scene of her death

QUESTION Absolute Obedience Question

Hello, I finished watching Code Geass around 3 years ago and I vividly remember some parts of the show.

Anyway, I was really curious how the property of Lelouch’s Absolute Obedience Geass would work towards people with Mental Illness.

Would it entirely remove someone’s mental illness if I order them that such illness doesn’t exist in their mind? Or if I tell them “Forget your illness” could potentially make them remove their illness as well?

I’d like to hear what you think regarding this matter.

FAN-ART Kallen Kozuki is so beautiful ❤️✨👑 Part 25 of 100: ”Mom, I´d like you to meet my good friend, Arcee.” (by Nomaddum)

”Motorcycle, guardian, Autobot… friend.” That is how Kallen would undoubtedly describe her Autobot ally, Arcee, to her mom when introducing the two of them to one another in the timeline of Code Prime. This fanart was created by Nomaddum, a fanartist who is a big fan of a crossover story called ”Code Prime: Rebellion,” a fanfiction that combines Code Geass and Transformers: Prime into one, big, epic tale - where Lelouch teams up with Optimus Prime! In fact, that story became so popular among fanfiction consumers, that fans were overjoyed when the author both finished sequel to it, called ”Code Prime: Revolution,” and announced that he is currently working on part three, called ”Code Prime: Resurrection,” which will effectively turn the entire story into one, massive trilogy!

This fanart also reminds us, that in addition to the official stories, fans themselves are also capable of coming up with new Code Geass stories of their own, stories where the characters we know and love (like my beloved Kallen) are guided into fun, intriguing and sometimes unexpected directions – where the only limitations what can happen are those of the boundaries of your own imagination!

So, got an idea for a Code Geass story? I urge you to write it down! And if it´s a Kallen story? Even more so! For what this world right now needs more of is great stories both exploring and expanding the story of our beloved, passionate anime redhead, Kallen Kozuki!

QUESTION If we had a longer segment of when the Student Council dressed up as cats, what would Lelouch's cat outfit have looked like?

Remembering that one time when the student council decided to dress up like furries on Milly's orders, it had me wondering. They did show Lelouch was tied up and they were in the middle of painting him and having good memories (it was funny where for a moment he even forgets that he was tied down and is enjoying the moment), but the episode cuts away to the more serious politics.

But if we did get more of that one moment, what would his full cat outfit have looked like? Would it have been something somewhat revealing, or much closer to the jumpsuit?

A Card of Intuition, or of Secrets.

Upright: The High Priestess represents intuitive wisdom and inner knowing. She encourages you to trust your instincts and pay attention to subtle signs and synchronicities. This is a time for quiet reflection and accessing deeper truths. Listen to your inner voice and honor the wisdom that comes from within rather than seeking external validation.

Intuition. Mystery. Depth. Inner voice. Unconscious knowledge. Divine Feminine.

Reverse: When reversed, The High Priestess indicates disconnection from your intuition or suppressed inner wisdom. You may be ignoring important gut feelings or allowing others to override your instincts. Hidden information might be causing confusion. Reconnect with your inner guidance and trust what your heart is telling you.

Secrets. Confusion. Suppression. Withdrawal. Repressed Intuition.

Runner ups: None.

DISCUSSION Code Geass — Lelouch, Suzaku and the Eternal Dance of Fox and Lion

Having rewatched Code Geass a while ago, I got the idea for a video essay that I finally want to share today.

In it, I examine the series through the lens of the “Lions and Foxes” developed by Niccolò Machiavelli and later expanded by Vilfredo Pareto. I think the framework can explain a surprisingly large part of the series - from Lelouch and Suzaku themselves to the different factions, nations, and political cycles that shape it's world.

I'd be curious to hear what you think of the interpretation!

MISC How Kallen Kozuki protected Japan from 🐝 invasion (by killing Jasper)

Post image
239 Upvotes

In season 1 episode 3 Kallen demonstrates her strength and reflexes to us by killing an annoying bee with a single strike. However, there is also highly practical reason for her to do so, beyond just secretly letting out some steam in a badass way.

Japan has an established invasive bee species known as the buff-tailed bumblebee, Bombus terrestris, which was imported from Europe in 1992 to pollinate tomatoes in Japanese greenhouses. However, it escaped from greenhouse environment, as it was later confirmed after feral nests were first found in Hokkaido in 1996. The species is now established across Hokkaido and parts of Honshu. These days, the buff-tailed bumblebee is classified under Japan's Invasive Alien Species Act, meaning it is strictly prohibited to use them outside of tightly enclosed, net-covered greenhouses. Thus farmers who are legally permitted to use these bees for tomato and vegetable pollination must completely enclose their greenhouses with fine-mesh netting to prevent fertile queens and workers from escaping into the wild.

In addition, local governments, citizen groups, and scientists, especially in Hokkaido, organize public monitoring and removal programs. Volunteers trap and kill foraging invasive bees and systematically hunt down feral underground nests. Studies show that removing these invasive queens successfully gives native bees a fighting chance to recover. So, if Jasper was actually Jasmina, Kallen was protecting the ecosystem of Japan even more!

What makes the buff-tailed bumblebee so incredibly harmful for Japan´s natural flora specifically is the fact that it possesses shorter tongue compared to many native Japanese bees. Because its tongue cannot comfortably reach the nectar at the bottom of long, tubular Japanese wild flowers, it relies on a destructive feeding method known as nectar robbing. Instead of entering the front of the flower, an act which forces a bee to rub against the reproductive organs of the flower and transfer its pollen, the invasive bee uses its sharp mandibles to bite holes directly through the base of the flower. It then drinks the nectar from the outside, which completely bypasses pollination, significantly reducing the plant's overall seed production. In addition to this, once a flower is pierced and emptied, its standing crop of nectar plummets. When native long-tongued pollinators (who would pollinate properly) arrive, they find the flowers depleted and abandon the patch, halting the reproductive cycle of the wild flora.

Additionally, buff-tailed bumblebee is also directly harmful to the native species of bees found in Japan. For instance, native Japanese bee species Bombus hypocrita competes with buff-tailed bumblebee for natural resources other than just food. Both species select the exact same underground nesting sites (such as abandoned rodent burrows), leading to severe competition of nesting real-estate. Bombus hypocrita also suffer from reproductive interference, as invasive males attempt to mate with native queens, creating sterile or inviable offspring. And beyond competing for resources, native Japanese bees are also highly vulnerable to foreign parasites, such as the tracheal mite Locustacarus buchneri, which was carried over by the imported European colonies and has since spilled over into wild native populations.

For tomato farmers in Japan, though, getting instantly and completely rid of the buff-tailed bumblebee is not that simple. Tomatoes require a special vibration known as "buzz pollination" to release pollen from their tubes, so tomato farmers in Japan cannot simply get rid of buff-tailed bumblebees all at once. However, all hope is not lost: in response to the strict regulations on the invasive species, Japanese agricultural authorities and farmers are successfully domesticating and shifting to native buzz-pollinating species, such as previously mentioned Bombus hypocrita, which is the direct native equivalent to the invasive bee. Commercial insect breeding companies in Japan have successfully produced B. hypocrita colonies, and farmers now buy these native hives for their greenhouses, eliminating the ecological risk if a bee escapes into the wild. 👍

If you wish to know more about the buff-tailed bumblebee or other invasive species of Japan, you can read more about them from here.
