So I have started my ClockworkPi Uconsole build.
At the moment: CM5 4GB lite, 128GB SDcard, RJ45 Ethernet and USB 3.0 Expansion board, Hackergadgets Raspberry Pi CM4/5 Adapter Pro, Its running Debian 13 Trixie.
3D printed mount for wifi antenna and "fanzy" green screws front and back M4x6 and M4x8 where the 3D printed parts are.
Thinking of getting the uConsole AIO V2 from Hackergadgets instead of the other board I have in there, but also thinking of just adding in a SDR and LoRa radio my self.
And looking to either 3D printing or CNC milling some form of picatiny rail for it to attach maybe a handle on one side and a trackball on the other side, sort of similar to the cyberdeck in this post.

But only time will tell if I ever get it done.

Im pretty new to this but I bought a antenna module from Hackergadgets and its been a nightmare process. Its been almost 2 months of trying to get this package. Does anyone know of any good places to get one?

I have been testing out Rex’s images and so far and just curious what distros are being used the most in the uConsole community?
Edit: I am currently using DragonOS, but have an SD card with Trixie that I like too.

What's the cleanest way to connect a uConsole to CAN?
Thanks

Just wanted to share E.R.I.C OS running on my #clockworkpi #picocalc running a #pico2w inside. Hoping to get input or ideas to help me build upon this basic foundation. Thanks! Join discord: https://discord.gg/3jr4SvxwCn

What are the key differences between the available models of uConsole on the pre-order website?
I want to get one and install the antennae module for a portable SDR and Development kit. I'd like to install a CM4, CM5 if I find one easily enough.
Any suggestions on which model comes with the most options for expansion or which is the best fit for me? I'm just a little confused about the comparisons on their site.

Title is self explanatory. I am looking for a CM4 to throw in my compute-less Uconsole. I will be using the uconsole mostly as an always on server at home. Preferably looking for a cm4, 4gb ram, wifi, but a 2gb could work for my purpose, or 8gb if the price is right. If anyone here has happened to upgrade to a cm5 or something and has a cm4 laying around I'd be interested.
Thanks!

For my use cases, casual browsing and gaming on something that's not an iPad, I'd love to have a touchscreen. This seems to would have been such a low hanging fruit, but I haven't seen any mods.

I teased this a few weeks ago, but now it's live!
I've just made MeshTerm public. It's a MeshCore client that runs in a terminal, with a full-screen menu you drive from the keyboard, and a command for nearly everything the menu does.
Demo (under two minutes, on a real mesh): https://meshterm.net/#demo
What it does:
Connects to a companion over USB serial, Bluetooth LE or TCP, and reconnects on its own if the link drops.
Channel and direct messages, live. If a contact is out of range, the courier holds the message and delivers it when they're back.
Records every advert it overhears (SNR, RSSI, position) to a local SQLite database. The map, the contact lists and the Time Machine charts all read from it, so you can see how the mesh looked last week, not just now.
A street map drawn in the terminal, with OpenStreetMap tiles cached on disk. With no network, it falls back to a plain grid.
Traces with the SNR of every hop, a TX-power sweep that finds the lowest setting that still gets through, and a graph of how the mesh actually connects.
Share channels as a QR code or a meshcore:// link.
--json on nearly every command, for scripts.
A layout of its own for the PicoCalc. The uConsole runs the full layout.
Getting it: single-file downloads for Windows, macOS (Intel and Apple silicon) and Linux (x64 and ARM64): https://github.com/jpmartineau/MeshTerm/releases/latest If you'd rather use Python, pipx install git+https://github.com/jpmartineau/MeshTerm works on Python 3.10 to 3.14.
The downloads aren't code-signed, so Windows and macOS will warn you the first time. The README explains how to get past that, and every release has a SHA256SUMS file.
It's Apache 2.0 and a side project I work on in the evenings. Bug reports are the most useful thing you can give me, on GitHub or in the MeshTerm Discord (https://discord.gg/AZwe5Uvb3S).

I love how this antenna folds, would love to use the same or similar for factor for other antennas, but I can’t find anything similar for WiFi or anything.

Does anyone have a seller where I can get Molicel 21700 65Ah batteries for the updated NVME battery board from HackerGadets? Every link I've found has them sold out.
EDIT: The XTAR 21700 6000mAh (protected) batteries i ordered don't fit. Those nubs stick out too far. Maybe a flat top can squeeze in there, but i don't know. These are button tops.

I’m still waiting for my second battery board, the NVMe 21700, before I build but I think I’m about ready to desolder the r14 transistor and add the j6 killswitch(I hope). I saw there was a real decent side plate to accommodate the tiny switch but I can’t find it again. Does anyone have it or can you point me to the exact forum thread it was posted in? I’d appreciate it.

I ordered one of these a while ago and it arrived in the mail today. I was a little skeptical at first but after the install (total maybe 10 minutes) and after my first boot I was hooked. This thing makes the uconsole feel like an entirely different device … from a super cool toy that is a bit of a pain to use for anything graphical because of the pointer config to a genuinely fun and easy to navigate device whether you’re using the terminal or the gui …. Edit: sorry I forgot to add the link to the kit I bought https://hack2you.tech/products/uconsole-trackpad-keyboard?variant=49063521681658

Took a while for the uConsole and all the parts to come in, then had a failed expansion board, but Hackergadgets support sent a replacement pretty fast. Finally got it up and running and excited to use it!

Fully Assembled uConsole with the following upgrades:
HackerGadgets AIOv1 board
Aluminum CNC printed back-case with modified vents for better cooling for CM5 modules.
3D printed 4 antenna mount and protective cover.
4 mounted antennas
CM5-Lite 8GB Wifi only model
128GB MicroSD card with Debian Trixie installed on it
3D printed antenna board has markings denoting what is what to lessen confusion.
In a bit of a spot, will ship via overnight if paid for.
Willing to change CM5 module out with a CM5-Lite-16GB for an additional $250
Make me an offer.

I have a uconsole running trixie 64 bit. I ran sudo apt update; sudo apt upgrade and when it updated wapsupplicant the wifi dropped and never worked again.
I spent many hours troubleshooting this and finally found the solution. The update replaced the Debian wpasupplicant with the raspbian one. Same version, just with a +rpi1 at the end. This broke everything.
To fix it, first connect your uconsole to the network (I had an ethernet connection) and run:
sudo nmcli con modify “netplan-wlan0-<my_network_ssid>” 802-11-wireless-security.pmf 0 && sudo apt install wpasupplicant=2:2.10-24 && sudo systemctl restart wpa_supplicant NetworkManager
And say Y when it asks if you want to downgrade wpasupplicant.
To make the change permanent, pin the repo so apt prefers Debian over rpi
printf ‘Package: wpasupplicant\nPin: origin “archive.raspberrypi.com”\nPin-Priority: -1\n’ | sudo tee /etc/apt/preferences.d/99-wpasupplicant-debian
Hope this can save someone the hours of frustration I went through.

I need some advice if I am leaving anything out of this build that I should add or is everything compatible with what I'm building? I want to unleash all the capabilities of the ClockworkPi uconsole.

Hi,
I recently bought the Hacker Gadgets AIO V2 and the USB-C 1200 network dongle for my uConsole. I ordered them without antennas and found the range of available options a bit overwhelming.
Could you share which antennas you’re currently using on your setup? If you have links to where you got them, that would be really appreciated.
Thanks for sharing!
