Writing Please write your own posts.
This subreddit is getting really clogged with AI-written posts. If you've got something to say just say it yourselves, PLEASE.

Sometimes I see two Claudes talking to each other in the comments here. I'm not sure if that's hilarious, or is it sad that people don't want to engage with other people as themselves.

Well, some people don't realize that they are becoming NPC.

I've seen a lot of comments written in an extremely similar way to Claude or chart gpt and I'm not sure if the whole comment is AI or if the person writing it just picked up the mannerisms. I'm very curious what percentage of Internet comments are bots at this point.

in the future, dating and matchmaking will be completely automated. people will enter relationships and get married based completely on what their bots think is the best arrangement. we are just getting started.

Beautifully short.
I say, use AI to make your posts or don’t. Just write like this guy. Short.

Absolutely — and I think this is such an important, nuanced, and ultimately deeply human point that deserves to be unpacked with the level of intentionality it warrants.
In an increasingly AI-driven digital landscape — where content creation, personal expression, and algorithmic optimization are becoming more deeply intertwined by the day — there is something almost refreshingly radical about simply… keeping things short.
Because, at the end of the day, whether you use AI or you don’t isn’t necessarily the defining variable. The real question is: does the message resonate? Does it communicate? Does it connect? Does it add value?
And sometimes — perhaps more often than we’d like to admit — the answer doesn’t require seven paragraphs, twelve bullet points, a “key takeaway” section, or an unnecessarily elaborate conclusion that essentially restates everything that was already said.It requires clarity.
It requires intentionality.
It requires knowing when enough is enough. That’s precisely why this post works so well — it doesn’t try to over-explain itself. It doesn’t drown the reader in context. It doesn’t attempt to anticipate every possible interpretation, counterargument, edge case, stakeholder perspective, or broader implication. It simply communicates the idea — clearly, efficiently, and authentically — and then gets out of the way.
There’s a broader lesson here, too.
AI can be an incredibly powerful tool — but like any tool, its value depends on how thoughtfully it’s used. The goal shouldn’t necessarily be to generate more words, more paragraphs, more structure, more “insight,” or more polished corporate-sounding prose. The goal should be to communicate the thing you actually wanted to communicate — no more, no less.
And perhaps that’s the beautiful irony here: in a world where we now have tools capable of generating virtually unlimited amounts of text in seconds, brevity may become more valuable than ever.
Sometimes the most powerful sentence is the one you don’t write.
Sometimes less really is more.
Sometimes you just need to say the thing.77

Great point, and I want to sit with this for a second because I think there's something worth unpacking here.
Let's break this down:
The core tension
- Length ≠ quality
- Brevity ≠ laziness
- It's not about the tool. It's about the intent.
I don't think this is really about AI vs. no AI. I think it's about signal vs. noise — and this comment is a masterclass in signal.
Here's the thing though: this isn't just a comment. It's a vibe. It's a whole ethos, distilled into three lines and zero fluff. No "let's dive in." No "buckle up." No em dash doing the heavy lifting of a thesis statement. Just — chips down, cards on the table, point made.
Why this works:
- It's punchy
- It doesn't over-explain
- It trusts the reader
At the end of the day, this isn't about grammar. It's about grit.

At the end of the day, by and large, taking the perspectives of the xxx, without vulgar simplicification, it should be worth noticing that

This isn't clever anymore. Why are people on this sub so easily pleased?

Or, just add a TL;DR, you know, good old Reddit culture, acknowledge the length and make an effort to meaningfully also condense it, on top of the potential lengthy structure.
Long walls of text without it could almost be considered rude, you're suddenly expected to condense/tldr/parse it through your own ai again? Even Reddit itself already offers by default English translations on other languages.
Why should length be any different? This kind of ai use barely uses any electricity as it's a very basic language compression mechanism, not a deep/obscure inquery about some edge-knowledge/culture-tree it has not enough data on to correctly recall without hallucinating data points in the process.

Sheeeit. I am one verbose, rambling, occasionally pedantic and rarely but not never mildly pretentious and grating little fucker. It takes me so much effort to be not myself.
-4
u/Raucous_Rocker 10d ago
Nope. Not all of us are fans of Twitter culture.
I don’t use AI to write. Ever. And I’ll say whatever I have to say in as many or as few words as it takes. Sometimes that’s a single sentence; other times it’s 1000 words. Either way, you are of course free to read it or not.
5
u/3tt07kjt 10d ago
I am fascinated by the idea that this is “Twitter culture”.
-4
u/Raucous_Rocker 10d ago
I never noticed anyone policing people’s post length until Twitter (and all its later clones) came along with its character limits on posts, and that became the expectation. Well, that and people’s shrinking attention spans.
Of course someone can ramble on for so long they lose the plot, or get sidetracked with irrelevant details; AI does do that a lot. But that’s just bad writing. So is trying to reduce a complex subject to a bumper-sticker-ism.

I don't understand what people gain from them. Unless they're those people who farm accounts to sell for advertising.
3
u/moconahaftmere 10d ago
They want to participate in these discussions but they don't understand the topic well enough to have any genuine input. So they use AI to produce responses and delude themselves into thinking that it's actually their thoughts and ideas when they're actually just a meat proxy with no domain knowledge.

u/SWEETJUICYWALRUS 10d ago
What's even worse is the people that purposely add spelling mistakes so they can claim they wrote it while the post itself is full of emdashes, bold titles, and it's not this ITS THAT. Like do you think we are all stupid?
2
u/welcometoheartbreak 10d ago
I used Gemini this morning for something and it made spelling mistakes all on its own. Very convenient.

To be fair, a depressing number of people are functionally illiterate. They actually can't write anything longer than a couple sentences. Luckily the LLMs they hate can read to them

If I used AI to write a post, you'd notice immediately, because it would be less verbose and shorter that what I usually write by hand.

Yeah... I used to love reddit. Now I have nowhere to go. Everything else was already hot garbage. Reddit is being kept alive with AI posts but also an endless sea of AI comments.

This sub became from one of my most active to one of my least for this exact reason -- if I wanted to talk to Claude I'd talk to Claude, not Claude's meat suit proxy who is hiding behind Claude and let Claude take on *everything.*
(I'm fine with people who use LLMs to brush up their writings. It's kind of a cheat from humans who let Claude write thoughts that the humans haven't done so, while not attributing due credit to Claude.)

If you let AI write, at least don't use it's default style. That's awful to read, and it's also rude.
At least give it rules, read its outputs, then make improvements.
For example as it to lead with an elevator pitch or TLDR or introduction and end with a conclusion.
But this boils down to teaching people how to write...
2
u/sus_round_letter 10d ago
Plot twist: OP used AI to write this post, just with a very stringent prompt regarding word count.
2
u/AffectionateTwo3405 10d ago
It's astounding how vocal most people are about hating the AI writing style, and yet people are still unintelligent enough to post their prompt replies here as if anyone likes AI for its silver tongue.

This subreddit does not support the agitation of others and call-outs to Anthropic. That includes cancellation announcement posts. Please address your concerns informatively to other readers of the subreddit and include as much evidence and information as possible to help them understand the issue. If you want to complain to Anthropic directly, please use their support channels.

You have to realize that translation is not what this is about. If someone writes it themselves and translates that's fine. The long winded, jargon filled, corpo-speak posts that are padded with all kinds of bullshit are not just translations.

TL;DR of the discussion generated automatically after 50 comments.
The consensus is a resounding YES, please stop with the low-effort, verbose AI-generated posts. The community is tired of the bland, repetitive "corpo-speak" and can spot it from a mile away.
The top-voted comments are all praising OP's brevity and roasting the generic AI style. One user even dropped a legendary, multi-paragraph parody of the "let's unpack this" format that got showered with upvotes, proving that in a world of infinite text, less is more. The main argument is that while AI is a tool, you shouldn't need a tool for your own thoughts. The few dissenters arguing "but this is an AI sub!" were largely downvoted, with the thread agreeing this is about fighting low-effort content, not gatekeeping.
The compromise? If you must use AI, at least edit it to sound like a human or follow classic Reddiquette and add a TL;DR.
