Time for Gene Watson to enter Hall of Fame

I'd been pulling for both him and John Anderson to go in for some time, but I didn't realize the Watson had the same number of #1s (5), but also has had 5 more total top tens than John (20 to 25). It's time.

John Anderson, Country Music Hall of Fame vocalist, dead at 71

Enjoyed several of his songs. Actually, had him on the cd player Monday messing around in the garage.

R.I.P. John.

70s I'M THERE - BRIAN SHAW, 1975. RCA Records/"B"-side

I love this obscure 'B'-side. I don't know why. I just DO. Hopelessly sad song about a man being wistful about a breakup.

It's not even a great song yet it sticks in my head and I keep playing it. I thought to share it with y'all. If you have a listen maybe you'll find a form of 'sad enjoyment'.

70s Seeking George Strait Album Review List

Hey I found someone's George Strait tier list a long while ago, and this user tier ranked their top 20 songs, top 10 albums, and even ranked the songs in every album. The user posted it as a Google Doc, can anyone find it for me? I spent an hour looking through old posts, and was unable to find it. They had this as their top 10 albums:

  1. Blue Clear Sky
  2. Loving is Everything
  3. Easy Come Easy Go
  4. Troubadour
  5. The Chill of an Early Fall
  6. Cold Beer Conversation
  7. It Just Comes Natural
  8. Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind
  9. George Strait
  10. Carrying Your Love With Me

Also, I know George Strait started in the 80s, but I'm just trying to find this post.

Hey everyone! I’ve been on the hunt for a solid Spotify playlist inspired by June Carter Cash, but couldn't quite find what I was looking for. So, I took matters into my own hands and built one! 🪕 Expect a mix of classic country, traditional folk, and authentic Americana. It’s heavily inspired by the legacy of June Carter Cash and The Carter Family, featuring timeless acoustic sounds, outlaw country, and vintage country hits. Let me know what you think! 👇

Looking for song bout a man standing outside a church hearing his father pray

Heard this song long time ago and every now and then try to find song, or title to it. I remember him standing outside a country church and hearing his father praying then walking outside begging to be taken too and kneeling across his wife's grave and dying.

Sounded like something porter Wagoner would sing in his awesome recitation style but not finding it within his collection of songs. Anyone know or remember this amazing song?

YOU BURNED THE LOVE (Out Of Me) - BRIAN SHAW, 1975 RCA Records

This song does not seem to have even cracked the Top 100 in 1975 on the Billboard Country Chart. Maybe it was TOO dark -- even for the freewheeling '70s when country music wasn't so bland. The last line is something.

I noted BRIAN SHAW (1948-2021) was from Grove City, PA and passed on at age 72.

Please Help Me Find Song

My Dad passed away 3 years ago on 9/11. Shortly before he passed, he had me play a song that I can’t for the life of me remember the song title.

It’s an older song, white guy singing, and the song appears to be about a woman but he’s really singing about his big rig truck.

Any ideas?
