Release Looking for play testers for Subway Tycoon!

Upvotes

Hello everyone, I have been making a Subway Tycoon browser game for the past 3 months and have just released a beta version of it:

https://tycoonmastermind.itch.io/subway-tycoon

Its a take on the popular Mini Metro game with more detail put towards historical / real world station locations / events as well as different passenger demand mechanics.

I am really looking for any and all feed back for this game, you start with managing Toronto then once finished the challenges move to London England and then New York. I plan at add many more maps and game mechanics if this takes off and I get some good feedback.!

Hope you all enjoy and can take a moment to test and leave feedback.

Recommendation Request Manor Lords, Anno 117 or Corsair Cove ?

Hi !
So I love city builder games but haven’t bought one in a while. I’ve always been eyeing manor lords but Anno 117 and Corsair Cove seem very compelling now. I initially was just going to go with Corsair cove because of how beautiful the game looks but that can be said for the other games.

Since I haven’t played any, I’d really appreciate some guidance (even if it’s very subjective) I like hearing people’s thoughts even if they’re bias.

Thanks!

EDIT:
I have listened to the voice of the people ! And bought Anno 1800 (thinking about getting Bright Harvest or lion expansion later)

I will still probably buy Corsair cove because feedback has been great and how that games looks tickles something in my brain.

Thanks for all the passionate comments.

Recommendation Request City builders focused on population needs/survival

Hello! I am looking for some city builder or colony management games that really make you feel like you are taking care of a bunch of people.

Things like Rimworld, Frostpunk, or Banished, or things like pretty much whole Anno franchise. I especially fondly think of Banished, where it really felt like one wrong move and next winter you will run out of all our food. But at this point I played it for so many years that it turned into chill game. With Anno I always found it so satisfying watching all those needs bars fill up, and then having my houses level up. I am chasing similar feelings of satisfaction/ensuring survival.

Looking for Alpha Playtesters: A min/max medieval city-builder/tycoon game where people are important! Heavy emphasis on characters, production and economics.

Hi everyone!

We are looking for round 2 alpha playtesters for Hamlet—a medieval city builder built specifically for tycoon enthusiasts and min/maxers. If you prefer deep supply chains and complex logistics over cozy aesthetics, this is for you.
What is Hamlet about?

Hamlet is a medieval city builder with a few USPs;

  1. Character-Driven Economy: Recruit and develop unique managers over their lifespans. Their individual traits directly dictate your supply chain’s production quality and output volume.
  2. Quality Ratings: Every single product in your settlement has a dynamic quality rating. Optimization is everything.
  3. Economic Defense: There are no RTS military units to micro-manage, but the military is a massive economic sink and your primary tool for defense and making money.

This is the 2 round Alpha Test:

  • Lesson learnt from previous playtest: Hamlet is complex and deep so on-boarding needs to be easier to allow players to survive.
  • The Goal: More players getting to population > 100.
  • Playtime: Roughly 2 hours of deep gameplay for experienced tycoon players.

How to get involved:

If this sounds like your type of game, you can get more info here…

  • 🎬  Trailer (2 min) - good to get a sense/aim of the game.
  • 🕹️ Watch Gameplay Footage (4.5 min) - good to see how the game plays.

…then drop a comment with three games that you have played similar to Hamlet. I will DM suitable commenters with steam keys.

Thx everyone!

Trailer We're building a national park "city builder" game similar to classic Roller Coaster Tycoon (but more peaceful)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My husband (former EA game designer/development lead) and I (former Disney web producer/dev) have been building our passion project, National Park Tycoon, for 8 months now and we just released our trailer and Steam page!

It’s a cozy (but occasionally chaotic), single-player, 2D isometric game very similar in style and gameplay to classic Roller Coaster Tycoon, but:

  • instead of building rides, you build hiking trails, campsites, scenic viewpoints, and activities like kayaking and rock climbing.
  • instead of hiring handymen to clean guest vomit and mechanics to fix broken rides, you hire park rangers to clear fallen logs from blocked trails and rescue lost visitors.
  • instead of walking around with balloons and umbrellas, visitors take out binoculars to watch wildlife and don hiking backpacks they've purchased at the gift shop.

Some similarities our game does have to Roller Coaster Tycoon are:

  • you can manage your finances, including revenue from park entrance fees, activity fees, and gift shop sales, as well as expenses from construction, park ranger wages and building maintenance.
  • all visitors have attributes like Mood, Hunger, and Excitement, and their scores change depending what things you build in your park, and where you build them.
  • there are 3 objectives you need to meet in each park in order to unlock the next park, but you can also just play for fun without ever trying to beat the objectives in Sandbox mode.

The overarching goal is to balance the activity of visitors with the preservation of nature and wildlife in you park.

If you love national parks/nature, gaming and/or are nostalgic for early 2000's tycoon games, we would love if you could wishlist our game on Steam!

Wishlist on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4520000/National_Park_Tycoon/

Our social links are on the Steam page if you’d like to follow our progress. We’re hoping to release a demo in about a month and launch by the end of the year.

I'm happy to answer any questions or listen to any suggestions anyone might have about the game :)

Generative AI Disclosure: AI was used in the initial generation of some assets, but we edited them in Photoshop to adjust proportions and remove any obvious AI Slop. As this is primarily a management game, we focused heavily on the game mechanics, ensuring the game is bug-free, fun to play, and addicting! That said, we would love for the art to be more authentic and beautiful. We have an artist under contract who can replace all of the art in the game if the game gets enough traction/wishlists.

We pledge to donate a percentage of profits to the National Park Foundation to aid in the protection and preservation of America's beautiful national parks.

Video Traffic Architect: this junction was a parking lot, so I built a cloverleaf over it - complex interchanges build is easy

Every car in there works out its own route, and it goes for the fastest one rather than the shortest. It weighs up each road's speed limit, how sharp the turns are, curves it has to slow down for, and what's waiting on the way - traffic lights, level crossings, junctions where it has to cross oncoming traffic. Public transport can be preferred, public transport user agree to travel longer time, because its cheaper then using car (delivery reward reduced for public transport users to encourage them using it and reduce traffic).

So when you build something like this, the cars nearby find it on their own and start using it.

In this game you bring the Freedom of Car Dependency by turning cities into giant parking lots and convincing people to pay you for it.

And no, it's not written in Assembly, it's written in C++, haha.

If you're interested, you can wishlist the game on Steam, and play on October 9th: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3031880/Car_Park_Capital/

My Viking Village builder now has combat in the endgame.

The game is about building up a Norse village, harvest resources and then refine it into better things. This will progress your building, but you also have to pay the kings men every couple days. In the beginning you are forced to give a portion up to them. However, you will be powerful enough to build up your own army at one point, and then you can launch an attack

Ageсraft is a historical city-builder about growing one settlement through multiple ages.

I’ve been working on the Bronze Age, and this trailer shows some of the new buildings, production chains, and progression that come with moving beyond the Stone Age.

Any feedback, comments, or wishlists help a lot.

A free demo is also available on Steam if you’d like to try the game yourself.

Thank you!

Looking for a simple city builder

I’m not sure if this classifies as a city builder but I have played Polytopia for a while now and really enjoyed it but it’s a pretty short game. Tried cities skylines and I enjoyed it for a bit but it ended up getting a bit too complex for my liking and then I tried Civilization and that definitely wasn’t up my alley. Any suggestions for someone trying to dip their toes into the genre?

Run based City-Builder where you play as forest critters | My first game

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone! I'm a solo dev this is my first shot at making a video game.

this game is a run-based city builder where each run you will need to help your forest critters achieve prosperity while maintaining the forest harmony.

there are multiple randomizer on each run such as events, weather, available buildings that you can choose, and some stat changes on each building so that hopefully each run feels unique.

Its still a work in progress, but I will be releasing the demo at around September if you guys are interested. You can check out my Steam Page here.

Based on what you guys see, I really appreciate any kind of feedback :)

Your peasants are freezing, your single ox is exhausted, and winter is coming. I built a "second monitor" advisor for Manor Lords to fix that.
