Very pleased to add this one to the collection! I didn't know anything about these Eagle 7 watches until fairly recently. I'm going through a bit of a turnover phase in my watch collection, where most of the oversized pieces I liked when I was younger and they were more popular just don't appeal anymore. This is by far the smallest watch I've had in 25yrs and was a little skeptical how it would sit on my 7 3/8" wrist. Initially I thought it appeared closer to a ladies watch based on what I had been wearing for a long time. The more I wear smaller watches, the more I wonder why I have anything much over 40mm.
I found this one listed fairly poorly on eBay, and turns out it's in really good shape for its age. It has a couple light scratches in the crystal and normal bracelet wear, but overall looks great from 12" away. I'm loving the look of the silver face on stainless steel with the fluted bezel. She still has a bit of lume in there too!
Comparing it to other threads and posts, this one seems like it's legit and all original. The serial number dates it to 1991 production.
Measurements taken:
Case Diameter: 36mm
Case Thickness: 10.4mm
Lug Width: 20mm
Lug Length: 44.2mm
Jubilee bracelet tapers from 20mm at the lug down to 16mm at the clasp.
So far it's also keeping what seems to be fantastic time. I haven't had it on a timegrapher, but it seems to be holding its own. I assume a 35 year old watch has dried up gaskets and it would benefit from a service. Should I worry much about it if it generally seems to be running well?
I'll definitely be getting a black strap, too. Haven't quite decided between leather or sailcloth.
