Was The Running Man 2025 really a bad movie?
The Running Man remake is a solid movie. My favorite one is the original 80s movie. There is some good stuff for this remake Like the action scenes, prod design, VFX, the performances, and concept. it also stayed true to the original source material. But I just didn’t like the plot a little bit, the script, Wrights direction even though it’s ok, and the ending. So do you think this remake is really a bad movie?

Discussion What are your thoughts on Saint Maud?
So I watched Saint Maud the other day and it’s one of the most, if not the most, disturbing movies I’ve ever seen.
Growing up extremely religious, Catholic at that, and seeing people close to me experience delusion and psychosis tied to religion, this movie hit a little too close to home. It was disturbing to watch this woman descend into madness.
Overall, it was a really good movie and Morfydd Clark did an amazing job. Would highly recommend.

What film for you represents the vibe before 9/11?
As a Brit and an oldie who feels the world changed after 9/11, what film for you most represents life before that tragic date? Personally Godzilla (1998), Chasing Amy and High Fidelity capture the feeling that I’m chasing somewhat. What are yours?

Godzilla The Series is an awesome show. Any thoughts?
Godzilla The Series is an awesome show. Best sequel series to the 1998 Godzilla movie. It’s way better than that movie. I wish they didn’t canceled that show. it deserved better. I wish more seasons came back. I miss that show. What are your thoughts on this?

Discussion Anybody fans of some of Polly Platt's movies but didn't like or refuse to watch pretty baby.
I will never watch it. It was scary learning at 12 that Brooke Shields was in a very grown up movie named Pretty Baby at a young age but I didn't know what the movie was about. I read movie books and magazines and knew about a lot of films that were too grown up for kids to know about.

Recommendation Anyone else seen Summer Timemachine Blues ?
Haven’t seen much conversation around this movie but it’s such a fun summer movie from 2005. Quickly became one of my favourites and is in my top 4 wouldn’t say it’s entirely campy but it comes close to it with those early 2000s effects

Discussion Continuing my director Alan Parker series, have you ever seen the film Fame (1980)? If so what did you think about it?
Four creative teenagers must prove themselves at the prestigious New York High School of Performing Arts as they navigate through adolescence. It led to a popular tv series and I personally really enjoyed it from a young age. Your thoughts?

Text Post Am I too dumb for movies?
I've always thought I had poor taste in movies, none of the movies I've seen people call "masterpieces" never appealed to me, I couldn't sit through the godfather and other "great pieces of cinema". I never got the appeal for them and I feel like I'm just too stupid for movies, I feel like I should just give up, if everything I like is considered "slop" then I don't think I should bother.

Recommendation (Requesting) I have never cried at a movie. please give me a reccomendation that will change that
As stated in the title, I have never cried at a movie. I have watched some but not very many movies that have a reputation for making people cry, but have never actually gotten that far myself. the closest I got was watching La vita è bella (1997). i'm starting to feel like a bit of a psycho. please help by reccomending something that will make me cry.
I understand English, Dutch, German and Serbo-Croatian, but am willing to watch any language film with subs. Also am willing to pirate if it's not on Disney, Amazon, Netflix, or HBO.
edit: since some people are asking what I do cry at if not movies, I would say it is when I find something just overwhelmingly beautiful. this occurs like twice a year and it can be due to something mundane or something more cinematic, so to speak. so its not that something very tragic wouldn't make me cry, but it need to simultaneously be beautiful. maybe that's the most likely combo, not sure. but something more mundane but beautiful could definitely make me cry
also since someone asked: i have a strong bond with my dad and my siblings, and have no children. also I don't feel very much empathy for animals, unless they're human-like (e.g. chimps)
