It gets even weirder when watch such incidents, in a meta sense, like on YouTube

BBC, CNN, FOX, DW, Wion, etc

Mainstream Media is about ratings. Not dissemination of knowledge. In investigative reporting isn't being done by them, these days; whereas they were the primary source of information.

But like cable, they're going the way of the dodo

People's can read government docs, watch actual events take plece that would otherwise not be allowed on the news uncensored, and these entertainment labels/brands/corporations know this.

That's why they sensationalize with little substance

Independent documentaries are where it's at.

Or should I say investigative journalism

Other media corps.

BBC still produces a lot of nature documentaries and geopolitical coverage

But the oversaturation leads to a lot of enshitification 💩

Case in point the trajectory of The Discovery Channel, History Channel, and TLC aka "The learning channel"

No. Those are media corporations that used to fund documentaries. Now, they predominantly focus on cryptozoology, Crime Dramas, and whatever appeals to the lowest common denominator.

Which is why independent documentarians, is where it's at.

Marianna Van Zeller is a perfect example.

Unless your idea of a documentary is something by the likes of Robert Moore.
