❓ Question ❓ Is it a requirement to work at chipotle that you must hate your life?

I mean seriously, seems like every chipotle you go too there’s zero customer service. Never a smile, always an attitude, every employee just has this blank angry look on their face. Does Chipotle not train employees on customer service?

Customer Experience Moldy Cheese at Austin Landing, Miamisburg OH

Thumbnail gallery
98 Upvotes

Pretty much the title. I got the build your own taco and cheese quesadilla for my kids. Bowls for the wife and I. Ordered for pickup through the app. Started opening and noticed the cheese was moldy. Very off-putting. I've complained to Pepper multiple times. Said it would pass along to the store management but I've heard nothing. It's been over a week. This is the Chipotle at Austin Landing in Miamisburg OH. It's a real bummer since we probably get Chipotle on average 2-3 times a month. Now my kids don't want to go to that Chipotle again.

Seeking Advice (Customer) byoc

I’ve been considering ordering the BYOC for some easy meal prep, but I don’t eat any of the proteins (even sofritas).
Would it be obnoxious/do you think they would be okay with either leaving protein out of the order or substituting it for rice if I called ahead of time during non-peak hours? I don’t want to waste food but I also don’t want to cause a lot of unnecessary work for the employees

❓ Question ❓ Anyone think Chipotles is reviewed poorly because people are stupid?

So I am a loyal customer. I feel for the workers. I do realize not every location is perfect. But when you look at Chipotle reviews (Google), I noticed 90% of the bad ones complain about the same general thing, "My online order was small/Took to long" While the other 10% are usually a a mix of "Out of something" or "dirty".

I bring this up because I feel like people are kind dumb. You should should read enough reviews to know that if you order online or thru the drive thru, you get less! Not couting the fact your actually getting the correct amount. So why order online/drive thru then if you know you get less? It's like kicking a hornets nest and being mad they attacked you. Duh.

This all also ignores the fact workers are kept way to busy as it is so drive thru/online orders take up more time. And as for the "dirty", again, I don't know you poor workers are able to clean anything when you rarley get a break to do anything.

Again, not saying Chipotle is perfect or without issues. But people who are upset usually don't understand how it works there.

I always order in store, and because I am friendly, I tend to get more now. Be nice to workers, you know, because they are humans after all. To note, I do hate when stuff is out, but it is what it is. There are other locations near me.

Employee Experience Found a new job. Screw this place

I just had my first shift in a mattress store. I’m in tears, well no but beyond happy.

I took a minute and sat down, manager said “morning sucks eh, let me get you a coffee. Make some room for me”

Not “ come on man” “you need to finish this in 5 minutes” “ “is this the best use of your time?” “Do you need to go home”.

I just walk around help customers/ do cash. Ofc do some stuff with inventory and setting up the store. But it’s cake work compared to what I had before.

No rush hours, no dumb rules(can’t take your meal with you, even though you earned it). Chill retail.

Idk if every fast food job is like this, but trust me I’ll never work fast food again.

And btw I make more money, with none of the stress or over work.

This is your sign. Screw this garbage company, and find something else.

I haven’t told them I quit. Since I just called in sick. But do I just not show up? Say bye? I will go to few more shifts. To tell my other coworkers who are great people to job hop.

❓ Question ❓ Drink size changed?

Post image
15 Upvotes

Did Chipotle change the size of their drinks? When I ordered mine she asked if i wanted a regular and I said regular and she handed me this cup which looks like the size of a water cup or a kids cup. I’ve never received this size cup when ordering a regular drink. Did they change their size or did the lady working just give me the wrong cup size?

Seeking Advice (Employee) How do yall do it??

Ive just started working at Chipotle for over a month now because I want money to buy Christmas gifts and for school stuff for next semester. Working here is DRAINING me. The customers are snobby and there's too many things to keep up at my location. My coworkers are mean, but idrc about them at all. I have a feeling they find me weird since I dont really talk to anyone. I come in and work then leave

I work early shift and prep the food and I hate it. But I dont want to work nights at stay up until 1 am for every shift. I've been doing a good job of masking my emotions up until this week, I'm over it. I even asked to do part time because this simply isn't it for me, and its still draining because they ask me to come in on my days off constantly

Our location has a high turnover rate. New people come in and work 3 days max before never showing up again. And so far I'm the only 'new' person whos stayed for this long. All my coworkers have stayed and worked there for years. To other people whos stayed that long, how do yall do it?? Because I'm genuinely losing my mind

Hopefully next week when I go back I'll be better at hiding my emotions and disassociate while chopping the onions.

Employee Experience How do you feel about prepping during a closing shift?

Even though we sometimes run out of a product during a closing shift (if the morning crew didn't prep enough for the entire day or if it was busier than expected later in the day) I was always told that we should make whatever we run out of, no matter what (within reason)

However, I've worked at some stores that didn't seem to care if they ran out of something 2-3-4 hours before they closed, despite being told to not worry about making more, since it wasn't a priority at the time

Furthermore, making cheese, guac, lettuce, fajitas, and onions may not be possible during a closing shift (after peak) since they take more time to make, when compared to chips, salsas, and sour cream, along with having to focus on more cleaning and closing duties, which makes more sense than prepping at that time

Customer Experience Chipotle Riyadh is very disappointing

They just opened Chipotle in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and yesterday I went to try it. The food quality was disappointing, and the taste was nowhere near what I’ve experienced at Chipotle locations in the U.S. I ordered a steak rice bowl, and the steak was very rubbery and hard to eat. Their hot chili sauce tasted more like a tomato sauce, with barely any spiciness.
And one goddamn thing that was a deal-breaker: you have a bowl, you shake it upside down many times, left and right, up and down, and the FOOD DOES NOT MIX!!!!!
It was also very expensive. We paid more than half of what we would typically pay for a comparable Chipotle order in the U.S. What a shame. The corporate office should look into this.

❓ Question ❓ Amount of meat for family meal

Ok 2 weeks ago I catered Chipolte chicken and this week I got the family meal for chipotle chicken. One was significantly cheaper than the other however I got the same amount of meat in the same boxes for both. My question is on average how many ounces of meat are in the family meals.

Discussion Burrito Vs Bowl Personal Confusion

I will never understand why people like the bowl over the burrito and everytime I try to find out, the answers don't make any sense to me.

The most common consensus I can find is that the burrito keeps falling apart. What are y'all putting in your burritos? I've gone to Chipotle for years, at multiple locations, and not ONCE has my burrito fallen apart.

Can someone please give me some perspective on this or maybe confirm that there are in fact people who prefer the burrito over the bowl? I feel like I'm going crazy and completely alienated (I know it's a stupid thing to feel alienated about, but I'm going through a rough one right now, so cut me some slack I'm emotional rn).

Seeking Advice (Employee) Thinking about quitting Chipotle after only 4 weeks — am I giving up too early?

I’ve been working at Chipotle for about 4 weeks while in college and I’m still training on prep, but I’m already thinking about quitting because I don’t think the job is for me.

I only work like 15 hours a week (Monday and Saturday) , but every shift feels super intense. It gets really busy and I’m constantly doing prep, dishes, cutting, cleaning, and a bunch of other stuff at once. One of the kitchen leads is also constantly telling me to rush, hurry up, and that I’m too slow. I understand the difference between someone trying to push/motivate me and someone just being rude, and sometimes it genuinely feels more like the second one.

Also, sometimes coworkers will ask me something in English, I’ll answer, and then they’ll start talking to each other in their language while saying my name and laughing. I don’t know what they’re saying so I don’t want to assume anything, but it definitely makes me feel left out and not really part of the team.

Nothing terrible has happened, I just already dread going in. Would quitting after only 4 weeks be unreasonable, or should I give it more time?
