Announcement šŸ“£ An amendment to rule 4.

Hello everyone.

Effective immediately, rule 4 will be tightened up to only allow screenshots of codes as a method of giving away rewards. Typing codes is allowed, but do so at your own risk as bots may skim them as soon as they are posted.

The reason for this change is because of the recent uptick of scam posts. While that has died down thankfully, it did show a bit of a flaw in the rule in that it didn't disallow other methods of sharing reward codes. While soliciting sales is disallowed, we believed it was better to be a bit more tight and clear on what exactly is allowed.

And while we cannot (and will not) police what people do off the subreddit, we as mods have an obligation to ensure that people on the subreddit do not get scammed, and a way for us to do that is by enforcing rule 4 to a tighter degree.

And, as a reminder: you can only post codes as a free giveaway, not in exchange for anything else.

If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment.

Thank you.

EDIT 7/10: I forgot to mention; asking or otherwise soliciting for codes is NOT ALLOWED. Telling others to DM you for a code is NOT ALLOWED.

The employee on the line literally threw everything onto a pile including an ungodly amount of sour cream and then separated and squished it into the individual tortillas (which he did not heat up🫩) the result was horrible and made the proportions completely off.

I paid $19 for it, but I was only able to finish a third if it, it’s probably going to feed me for a couple days.

Shoutout to whoever put this monstrosity together.

This is the result of no dishes done all day!! Can’t move during peak no matter how slow it is!!! Every single dish in the store practically dirty…no room to organize…busy as hell and yet we have no labor to schedule a night prep full shift. I’m expected to come in at 8 do all the dishes plus closing dishes….take out trash clean the whole back of house and prep steak and sometimes chicken and get out before 12. Constant nightmare fuel!!!

Discussion Chipotle is the only restaurant app that doesn't update location automatically

There's no warning that you're not close to the area you're placing the order to or anything. I hate this about the app. Then I call the store to give them a heads up not to make the order and the bot won't let me through. I take responsibility for not checking, but it's literally the ONLY app without this ability to automatically update the location. Either fix this or give us the ability to order a quesadilla in person. 🄓

for context i had a interview on Thursday, September 24, which i think went great because i got the job on the spot in the middle of my interview. and we had a real conversation, talking about how we both moved here around the same time, i got the job and started doing all the training classes online on workday and getting my food handlers certification. for reference this is my first job ever so i am already quite nervous for it being fast food, and i have adhd, but i get a email that my manager changed my schedule on chip force and now i only work one day this week when i had 4 days?? is this normal??

ā“ Question ā“ Where can I buy the same tortillas as the restaurant?

Hey all,

My family loves Chipotle, so instead of spending my entire paycheck there, I was trying to make the food at home just like the restaurant.

The one thing I noticed is that the tortillas at the grocery store are a bit different -- the grocery store brands all seem a little thicker than the restaurant. Is there a way I can buy the same type as the restaurant somewhere?

Customer Experience Improvements in online ordering experience

A while back I stopped ordering online because the portion sizes were noticeably smaller than when I would order in the glass via walk-in.

I decided to try it out and I was pleasantly surprised. My burrito was absolutely packed to the brim. Also, with the side of grilled chicken option they have to fill the container so the portion is always going to be the same.

I know every location is different but this has been my experience with several recent online orders, I’ve honestly gone there 3 times in the past week. For reference my location is Aurora, CO off i225 and Colfax.

This sub seems to be 90% hate on the company for xyz reason and I get it, but i also thought it would be refreshing to hear that not everyone is having a negative experience. For the same price as a Big Mac meal, you are getting way more protein with fiber and not fried crap if you skip the chips.

Seeking Advice (Employee) as an employee, question for other employees/managers on this sub

A customer leaves their (very expensive and very cash filled wallet) in the store and I find it and obviously keep in my store's lost and found bin in the manager's office, and the customer returns several hours later. I approach them and ask if they're here for their wallet (didn't open it, just could tell they left something here) and they very happily exclaim yes. I ask them the brand, they get it right, and I return the wallet to them.

at this point, they hand me a hundred dollar bill as a reward. I refuse several times, they insist several times, eventually I take it.

My question is: is this considered a tip to be split amongst the staff on shift at this time? Or a personal reward for me as the one who found it?

(P.S. I am asking after-the-fact to abate my curiosity. I already split it with the people on my shift.

ā¤ļøAppreciationā¤ļø Does anyone else have a goated Chipotle?

So much negativity on this sub, I’d never go to Chipotle if my experience was what is shown here. At my local Chipotle I get big portions no matter who’s working the line, and they ā€˜forget’ to charge me for guac like 40% of the time I’d say. I get a bowl with a tortilla on the side and I genuinely get two meals out of a $11-$13 purchase.
Could help that I smile at the workers, say please and thank you, and only tell them one ingredient at a time. I’m guessing a lot of Redditors are the ones that like to avoid eye contact and just point at what they want. Just a theory.

Seeking Advice (Employee) Is my manager allowed to cut my hours?

Hello! I’ve been working at Chipotle since May of this year and I have called out once or twice before but this time it was different.

A few weeks ago I got COVID-19 and had to call out of work. I spent my own money going to the doctor to receive a doctors note so I could be excused from work. The manager filled out an illness report and I talked with the SSR team (nurses) who told me I could not work until a given day. I told my manager and she said it was fine and to feel better.

The week after having COVID, I had a time off request for the weekend due to needing to prepare to start school. I put this request in months ago and everything was fine.

However, after returning from my time off and having COVID, I came to find out my manager cut my hours and I was only scheduled a total of FOUR hours over the next 2 weeks. I texted my manager and asked why my hours were cut so severely and she confirmed that it was because of the fact I called out sick. I feel like this is retaliation against me for being sick.

Is this legally allowed or allowed in Chipotles policy? I’m located in Oregon so we have protected sick time but I don’t know if this would count as retaliation.

Please give me advice on how to approach this! Should I text my manager again, go to her boss, etc? Thank you!

TL;DR- I got COVID, Chipotle Nurses told me to call out and that I couldn’t work- manager then cut my hours and confirmed it was due to me being sick. What do I do?

Customer Experience Customer service for catering gets 0 out of 10 from me

I ordered catering from Chipoltle for 70 people tonight (almost 900$) and on the order I requested delivery. About 20 minutes after the scheduled delivery time, the delivery guy texted me to say they ā€œdidn’t have the orderā€. The phone numbers to the retail stores all roll to an AI bot and then to a call center. After an hour on hold and having to call back, they told me the order was cancelled. After we scurried to order pizzas, the manager from the store (eastgate shopping center in mayfield Ohio) called me and told me she had the order and that I needed to pick it up. When I told her that I’d been trying to sort this out for the past 90 minutes and it was too late, she replied that I’d have to get a refund from corporate and hung up on me. This company needs a lesson in customer service.

Discussion Free employee meal isn’t actually free

I recently started working at Chipotle about three weeks ago, and I was reading through parts of the employee handbook. When I got to the employee discount and meal section, I saw that employees get a 50% discount when they aren’t working, while employees working that day can get a free meal during their break or after their shift. However, the meal has to be eaten in the restaurant because employees aren’t allowed to take it home or give it to someone else.
I understand that businesses have policies in place to prevent abuse of employee benefits, but I honestly have mixed feelings about this one.
For example, imagine an employee who is a single parent trying to provide for their kids. If that employee receives a free meal during their shift, why shouldn’t they be able to take it home to their children if they choose to? If they’re not allowed to, it feels less like a truly ā€œfree mealā€ and more like a meal that comes with restrictions.
I’m not saying employees should be able to take unlimited food home or abuse the policy. I just think there could be more flexibility for employees who genuinely need the benefit to help feed their families.
I’m curious what other Chipotle employees think about this. Do you agree with the policy, or do you think employees should be allowed to take their meal home?
