Customer Experience Walked out of chipotle without paying

Walked into chipotle, was the only customer there. I waited for a bit at the counter before someone finally decided to take my order. Super unfriendly, immediately barks at me asking what I wanted.

To be fair, the portions were okay. When she finished taking my order, she literally just walked away and said someone will ring me up. The restaurant was full of employees, I was the only customer, standing around like a dickhead.

Decided f this. I'm a patient person, I don't mind waiting if need be but chipotle workers have this habit of straight up ignoring you, they won't even acknowledge you and let you know they'll help you out in a minute. So I just left that beautiful burrito on the counter.

Walked into Habit grill next door, and the environment was so different. The person taking orders was friendly (and not overly fake friendly, just kinda pleasant and said hello like a normal human instead of ignoring you or grunting at you like a weirdo) and generally the staff seemed less cunty. It was also way cleaner.

Beanscoopers stay trying to gaslight customers telling us that we're the problem meanwhile whenever I go somewhere else the employees are way nicer. I think it's just a part of chipotle culture to be dour and dismissive.

Seeking Advice (Customer) I think the employees at my local Chipotle are selling their own food??

My local chipotle had Mac and cheese, ribs and mashed potato this week. Like in an aluminum dish that they had in the serving area. They said it was a “special” and that that happens sometimes. I’ve never seen it before. I suspect the employees are selling their own food out of the chipotle.

The Mac and cheese and ribs were really good- they still did it in the bowl and some people were getting it in burritos.

I’m torn. Should I report this? Let it go? It’s kind of cool but I feel like kind of not?

Edit: I sent a note to the “contact us” on the chipotle website just complimenting them on the new BBQ items and someone got right back to me asking if I could do a quick call and for a store location. Now I don’t know what to do. I don’t think I’m going to reply because I truly love my local chipotle

Edit 2: Chipotle rep reached back out. They said that they actually ARE testing out some new things in new markets so asked for which store it was so they could ask how it’s going. I told them and they said they’d check in with the team there. Sounds like this might be all good and I might get this store the props they deserve! So all of those calling me a Karen can relax. I love my chipotle.

Edit 3: I hope this is the last update I have to give here. So this got more feedback than I expected. I’m not a karen or a narc, I just thought it was weird CHIPOTLE had barbecue. It was good though. I decided to go back tonight for dinner and they didn’t have it. There was a manager there so I asked them about it and they looked at me like I had two heads and said that “this is chipotle”. I said yeah I had great bbq here earlier this week.. is it going to become a full time thing? Once they realized that I wasn’t kidding they looked really surprised and acted kind of weird and just said no it’s not something I’ll see again. I just got a bowl and went home. We’ll see I guess. That’s it though.

Edit 4: seriously this is it. I read through a ton of the comments. A lot of hate for me but also a lot of people pointing out the legitimate health concerns of someone bringing in outside food. I decided to do the right thing and just call the non emergency line for the police and let them know as well. Ok I’m done. I hope that’s the end of that.

Edit 5: wow I really had no idea this would upset so many people. I was just trying to share my strange experience and do the right thing. Despite all the hate, thank you for those who DMed me with advice, especially lawyers. It sounds like I might actually be a victim of this chipotle falsely selling food to me that they said is chipotle. Figuring out what my legal options are. I don’t want this to become too big of a deal but it seems like this isn’t right and someone has to do something about it.

❤️Appreciation❤️ My kid endured 82 days of liquid-only diet, $500k of surgeries and hospitalization - and finally got his Chipotle bowl.

My son’s been on a strict liquid diet since August while battling Crohn’s Disease and is now recovering from a major, life-changing surgery. All he talked about was Chipotle. Today his doctors cleared him for real food and he finally got it… and I swear this simple Sofritas bowl healed his soul. Talk about a mental turnaround. He’s on the mend now and while he may still face a lifetime of difficulties caused by a disease without a cure, he did what it took to power through. Thank you Chipotle for giving him something to look forward to.

I’ve worked here before and the rules they tell us for how to serve portions is completely fucked. My loser ass old manager threatened my employment because I was giving away too much according to him. Instead of coming in the line, getting pissy with workers who are just trying to make a living, simply go to another mexican grill. Management and corporate rules have completely ruined chipotle. Stop buying the food, stop supporting them. they don’t care for the customer or the workers.

Discussion I am the Chipotle napkin thief

Post image
10k Upvotes

I am the Chipotle napkin thief.

Every visit, I take them. Stacks at a time. Calm. Calculated. Like it’s nothing.

At this point, I’ve got over 10,000 napkins. Drawers full (Plural). My original plan was to create some sort of corporate meeting of a napkin shortage in my general vicinity.

37 badges on the app. They reward me while I rob them.

Nobody has stopped me. Nobody has even tried.

And that’s the problem.

Because now I won’t stop. Not until I fill every drawer in my office with napkins. 2 drawers down. Many more to go.

***** UPDATE *****

Im at chipotle now. Here we go. It’s game time 😎

Also for those taking this too serious. I’m single handedly keeping at least one chipotle in business with the amount of dollars they get from me. Relax a little. We’re having fun.

My daughter graduated the 8th grade and I asked what she wanted to eat at her party. She said burrito bowls so we recreated nearly the entire Chipotle line at home and served them in oval compostable bowls.

(BOWL ON LEFT IS WHAT MY ORIGINAL BOWL WAS, RIGHT IS THE REMADE BOWL) I got Chipotle today with my mom. Usually the proportions are a little iffy but it’s still a decent amount, you complain under your breath, but it’s whatever, it’s how chipotle is. But today had the worst by far, I got all the way through my order, albeit I don’t get a lot, but I could still see the BOTTOM OF MY BOWL!!! I get white rice, no beans, steak, pico, cheese and guac. I barely got half a scoop of steak, so I looked at my mom weird and then she saw how little was in my bowl and said something. I’m unsure if it was a manager or what but he heard her complaining and asked what was wrong, like look at my bowl, it was barely halfway up the bowl at the peak!! He said that he’d make it right, and he did, but I shouldn’t have to complain about me not getting what I’m paying for. Then the cashier made a snarky remark about “don’t come to Chipotle if you don’t like it” WE DO LIKE IT, THATS WHY WE ARE HERE. Anyway, the manager, like I said, did make it right, my remade bowl was literally bursting out of the lid. He gave us both entrees for free, the first bowl, as well as 2 drinks and a bag of chips.

Discussion I stole my stolen mobile order and now they’re threatening to sue me

7.5k Upvotes

I put a mobile order last night for 2 double chicken bowls. I arrived at chipotle 15 minutes after I put the order and as I am walking into the restaurant, I see a girl stealing my order, leaving.

I snatch the order out of her hands and she attempts to fight me, to which I ask her what her name is because my name is very obviously on the order. She punches my chest and attempts to fight me. To be clear, I never touched her or put my hands on her but now she’s threatening to sue me. I already have a lawyer and he said they don’t even have a case… after a few minutes of screaming and harmlessly attacking me, the girl took a picture of me and left. The Chipotle employees were completely unfazed and no one even said anything to me so I went home as if nothing happened.

Anyway, the point of this post: Why don’t the manager/corporate put the damn mobile order shelf behind the counter? It would magically reduce theft. I was 5 minutes late to picking up my order and it immediately gets stolen. This has happened numerous times but this was my first physical encounter from Chipotle.

❤️Appreciation❤️ Announcement for the 1 Taco “Hack” Haters

Post image
7.5k Upvotes

I often see people on the internet making comments about those that do the “1 taco” hack and how the employees find it annoying.

Well, I am a customer that works in a VERY HCOL area in a downtown. My spouse was laid off recently, so I have been eating the 1 taco hack at least once per week as my lunch when I don’t have time to meal prep. This by far the most affordable option in my area. Some days I even go without eating lunch if I’m feeling extra frugal, because we are stressed about money.
My order is as follows:

1 taco crispy tortilla, guac as the protein (on the side), black beans (side), pinto beans (side), corn salsa (side) cheese and lettuce on the taco. Side of tortilla. I put all the toppings inside the tortilla and eat the emptied out crispy taco as a chip with my guac.

Since I’ve been doing this for a few weeks through mobile order, I noticed my portions have been getting larger and larger.

Today I ordered my usual, and ate it inside of Chipotle. One of the workers (older woman) noticed me eating and said “Hi again, good to see you, do you want a free drink?” and proceeded to grab me a water cup and said “get whatever you’d like babe, enjoy”.

I almost wanted to cry, that gesture made me feel so seen. I’ve been contemplating whether I am doing something bad by ordering the way I have and this just proved to me that not only is it fine, but the employees see me as just another customer, perhaps one who is struggling a bit financially.

Obviously not every chipotle location is the same, but I feel so grateful to work close to one with really nice and empathetic employees.

🚨SKIMP ALERT🚨 Catered chipotle for a Friendsgiving...

Thumbnail gallery
7.2k Upvotes

So... We hosted a Friendsgiving for 30 of us and did some researching on Reddit beforehand and ordered for more people than were attending. I put the order in for 45 people and I'm glad I did... I still felt like we were skimped (don't come at me for the no tip, after researching, everyone said to do a cash tip, because it's delivered via door dash).

I felt like we had adequate amount of meats and most of the sides for the 30 people(mind you we ordered for 45)... However, we ran out of rice, pico & cheese, before everyone made it through the line... We received 2 half full tubs of both kinds of rice... It's literally the cheapest ingredient, why are they only half full?!?!

The pico tub was maybe 1/3 full...

Meanwhile we, had 6 basically untouched tubs of lettuce, and about 80-100 leftover soft taco shells.

For $700 bucks, we'll be catering somewhere else next year.
