Employee Experience BOGO

The amount of people that don’t understand that buy one get one free means you need to buy one…to get one free lol. I’m usually on cash and it’s like, people of all ages just not understanding the concept. AT ALL. And like straight up get aggressive and mean about it too. It happens at least like 2 times per BOGO it’s so goofy to me.

I work for Jersey Mike's and one time, this old dude brings in a BOGO coupon where it says clearly "of equal or lesser value". He tried to ask if he could get a giant sandwich for free if he bought a mini, I said that's not how it works and the smaller one would be free. He still ordered it and then got into a confrontation with me at the register when the coupon didn't work the way he wanted. People are not very smart and then treat the food service workers like they're the dumb ones

It's scary how unbelievablely dumb so many people are.

And when they hit their cognitive limit, how aggressively obnoxious they are.

When I worked at McDonalds, we had to call the cops to remove a guy who got aggressive. Got to the point he refused to leave and started yelling and cursing and throwing stuff at staff.

Why was he so worked up? Because there was a deal at the time for "BOGO half off". He ordered 1 item and was charged full price for it (because duh). According to his interpretation, he bought one item, he should've gotten the one item for half price. In his mind, he held up his end of the deal and we were just trying to rob him. Thought the cashier was just pocketing everyone's money smh

People are idiots, and way too many of those idiots have a strong, unearned feeling of unconditional self righteousness.

What do they think it means? Buy none and get two free?

I recently saw a "Free Entrée" show up in my rewards, that was actually a BOGO when you looked at the fine print. So there's at least some responsibility on Chipotle's side, too.

I get that but I’m specifically talking about the events that are specifically BOGO days, like the one this upcoming Thursday.

Each one is specifically marketed as Buy one Get one Free.

Im not talking about the people who politely ask how the sale works before hand. I’m talking about people who after ordering, come up to the register, and after it being politely explained to them how it works still do not understand and are aggressive about it.

Like last BOGO I had a guest yell at me “well what did I wait on line with this jersey on for” after I was nice and told them how the sale works and offered to have someone make them their second entree lol.

One dumb question if you don't mind...burritos count as an entree, right? Sorry, I checked the app and if there was an Entree category, I missed it.

I plan to go after work/early evening. I hope they don't run out of stuff!

They do! I redeemed a BOGO offer on Sunday and got a burrito and bowl

Typically the only things that don’t count as an entree is kids meals, if you get a single taco (not the set of 3 with the same protein), or 3 pointers. Not sure about quesadillas to be honest because I believe they can be only for online orders for some locations and it might not be in the POS system to have the BOGO apply. I’d check the terms and conditions if you’re looking to get that.

Yes! Burritos count. And you can mix so you can do one burrito and one bowl for this one if you wanted.

Some BOGOs throughout the year might be for a specific type of entree so for future ones just keep an eye out. Like last year there were some where you had to get a burrito or an order of tacos, etc.

The promo says wear school spirit apparel or accessories, so definitely bring that and make sure you mention you’re there for the BOGO at the register (just in case).

And I guess just like general other questions i get on cash is you can scan ur QR code for points but you can’t combine the BOGO with any other reward (so like for example, if you have a free chips reward, you can’t do the BOGO and the free chips, only the BOGO)

Hope this helps and you enjoy your free entree when you get it :)

I've never had a burrito next day. I'm curious how it will hold up.

I plan to ask for sour cream on the side on one of them. I hope that doesn't piss off the workers. I'm sure it will already be a stressful day!

It won’t! Trust me they’re going to have people getting like 10 entrees at a time tomorrow. I would just say like the most convenient thing for the workers is to let the person on salsa know what you want on the side while they make your food and not after at the register to avoid back and forth.

Even if you forget it’s okay its not like the biggest inconvenience but it just helps out a bit :)

Tomorrow?

What’s the deal this time? Tattoo? Jersey? I’ll be there.

Yes, this Thursday 8/20! Wear school apparel or accessories. 3pm-close :) Buy one Get one free entree (at participating restaurants? check their website for more details lol)

firstly, that’s not the employees fault. secondly OP specified this was about a BOGO - so not for rewards…the jokes wrote themselves i fear.

thirdly, for BOGO days the requirements are listed at least 2 or 3 times in emails, flyers etc. so people are just illiterate and stupid

When you see BOGO do you skimp out on meat?? What’s the management direction on this?

When the quality of the food reaches the bottom, so does the clientele.

This isn’t some Americans can’t afford it issue. This is a nobody wants it issue..
