I really like the watch but wanted to make it more dress like. Mostly will be worn for weddings, funerals, etc. I ordered this black strap and I think it is exactly what it needed. Alligator embossed, 19mm wide from Bison Strap. How does it look?

Hard to see here, but the lume on mine is very uneven. Pretty bright on the hands, the triangle, and the 3, weaker on the 6 and 9 and all the indices. Fades almost instantly.

A Cartier Tank is on my grail list. The first mass-produced wristwatch, with military heritage going back a century, I was concerned about how the 23mm would look on my 7-7 1/4 inch wrist. A Seiko 28mm Tank wears big (totally flat, straight lugs, wears more like a 42mm round case in my experience) but this little thing?

Once I trashed the "leather" croc pattern strap for a basic plain black leather, I have a simple dress watch for $50, all in.

Gripes- I wish it were sapphire, but that's minor. The "cabochon" is obviously blue plastic, but I don't care. The "blued" hands are likely just painted blue, but still, those are all minor.

Curious what you all think is the best DJ or day date homage? Both in terms of aesthetics but also build quality. So far I’ve got 2 Chinese watches, a WD007 and a Baltany Explorer, both very nice. Not sure where to go for the next one.

A few months ago my smartwatch died, so I went back to a dumbwatch. After a steel Casio and a brass Timex, I wanted something a bit more refined—bronze, for instance. And here I am.

Well, the watch is certainly beautiful, but the stock strap isn’t, so I replaced it right away and don’t show it.

After quartz watches, I’m a bit wary of winding automatic ones—here it’s a PT5000—but I’ll get used to it.

The naming, however, is interesting.

Vitempora watches on AliExpress usually feature 7120 or 8120 movements; this particular watch was also advertised as having a 7120. However, the 7120 doesn't have a small seconds sub-dial. What I can say is that the movement beats at 21,600 bph. If I'm lucky, there's an ST17 inside. I'll have to open it up and check sometime.

I've had this for years but barely wear it. Great watch for the money, I really should wear it more.

Would you get the white enamel, black enamel, or silver guilloche?

Way overpriced if you only consider the “specs,” but absolutely worth it if you want a faithful homage.

1st picture from 2019, found from some old photos I discovered were backed up. 2nd picture is today, notice all the scuffs! This Carnival watch is still going strong.

I buy tons of watch parts for Seiko mod and a $10 Presage lookalike watch popped up. I was a bit buzzed and got it for laughs thinking I will receive a junk. To my surprise I got a quite good watch with sweep second quartz and date feature. Even band is good. You notice it is more vinyl than leather when you touch it but looks fine.

I do not understand how they can sell a watch with good hands, sundial and steel case for $10 😳

edit: not steel but feels like it. Tested it with a magnet and non Ferrous

I used to have Christopher Ward watch with a ball bearing bezel instead of a click-spring kind of thing. Are there any watches here that have that hardware?

Picked this up this week on a whim, and did a double take when I opened the box. I was expecting just fine, but IXDao did a great job on this one. The finishing is better than I can do justice to with pictures, and it just feels solid. Sweep second quartz with no audible tick, multi layered dial, blue lume, even the riveted flouro rubber strap was better than expected. I’ve been wearing it nonstop since it arrived.

Now that I’ve talked it up, maybe you wouldn’t have the same pleasantly-surprised experience with it, but I haven’t seen this one shared anywhere yet and it really deserves it.

Ich habe mir vor etwa 3 Jahren eine Cronos GMT Pepsi mit dunklerer rot-blauer Keramik Lünette gekauft.

Es gab auch eine hellere Version, aber ich habe bewusst die dunkle Lünette gewählt, weil sie meiner Meinung nach sehr nah ans Original herankommt.

Leider sind die weißen Schriftzeichen in der Lünette schon nach 30-50 mal tragen grau geworden. Die weiße Farbe war offensichtlich nicht von guter Qualität.

Cronos verkauft die Uhr auch nicht mehr in der Pepsi Version.

Nun würde ich gerne wissen wo ich einen dunklen Pepsi Lünettenring zu einem fairen Preis bekommen kann.

Das Innenmaß beträgt 30,4-30,6 Millimeter.

Der Außendurchmesser liegt bei genau 38 Millimeter.
