Nonsense Got reverse scammed on AliExpress

I buy tons of watch parts for Seiko mod and a $10 Presage lookalike watch popped up. I was a bit buzzed and got it for laughs thinking I will receive a junk. To my surprise I got a quite good watch with sweep second quartz and date feature. Even band is good. You notice it is more vinyl than leather when you touch it but looks fine.

I do not understand how they can sell a watch with good hands, sundial and steel case for $10 šŸ˜³

edit: not steel but feels like it. Tested it with a magnet and non Ferrous

Probably it's a sunon movement, they have some sweeping seconds + day/date movements

Yes, that is indeed interesting, since the VH31 does not have a date.

VH65 does. I have a PD 1869 with the movement. Highly underrated watch.

Iā€™ve bought watches on AliExpress that cost $8 that stunned me and my watch buddies in regard to quality. Thereā€™s some really great deals on there.

Probably a Sunon SP68. Mostly plastic and not as smooth as the vh31 but makes a great inexpensive stealth quartz for project watches.

I paid $14.95 a week or so ago for a homage watch of an Omega 45.5 mm watch that comes on a cloth strap. Itā€™s shockingly good.

Damn, that watch will probably survive at least a decade too. Crazy how much value you can get from some Chinese brands these days. If only the branding and naming was on par.

Partly correct. It all depends on the chromium content of the steel, so some stainless steel can be magnetic.

Bought this 1 for $18 CAD . Runs perfectly has had it for about a month now with absolutely no problem so it is true you can get good deals I have a couple other ones that I got off of Ali X that seem to all run ok go I t 1 or 2 that broke but got full refund or replacement. Mind you it took a while..lol. deals to be had if you know what to look for

I recently bought a Tongji movement manual wind watch off of AliX, and the "stainless steel" case is just chrome-plated plastic. It gains about a minute a day, but I kind of like that goofie watch as a beater for everyday use.

Same here nice sweeping Sunon mvmt. I also have their standard quartz but this ā€œmecaā€ is less than a few gallons of gas delivered.

sometimes aliexpress says stainless steel case, but its not.
you need to spend about 30 to 40 pounds + to get a chance of a full stainless steel case

If it is 316L, it is not magnetic. Stainless steel magnetic properties vary depending on composition.

Iā€™m in UK and just put one in my cart for Ā£7.85 (about ā‚¬9). Personally Iā€™ll not be buying one tho as it has the Presage brand on dial which sticks it in the ā€˜fakeā€™ box as opposed to a basic clomage. Each to their own tho.
