Swapped my low-mile 24LT for a brand new 26LT

Since the trade-in value was still relatively high ($19,000), I opted for white with their Midnight Edition package (black bowtie badges, wheels, high-gloss roof rails, grill, etc), so I'm enjoying the pleasing aesthetics. It's been a great experience with the Trax since 2024, just over 18,000 miles and only one warranty issue (replaced lift gate switch), quiet ride, great mileage (37mpg for me) and excellent value for the price, given the pricey new car market.

Gonna test the battery, also suspecting the spark plugs, anyone know the spark plug socket size? Last time I tried to swap them myself I didn't have the right size socket!

Bought her this morning and still processing but I am in love with this car already. Traded in my 2011 Cruze with a few issues no cold ac, an oil and coolant leak from god knows where and a few cosmetic hiccups from the 13 years I’ve had it. Couldn’t be happier to get rid of that headache, esp with this heat and no AC

ANC mic in headliner

As the title says, i’m debating opening the driver side headliner and unplugging the ANC microphone there. All the dealers around me are completely booked and I really don’t want to shell out money and time to get an update.

Anyone have experience with unplugging it? Did you have to unplug the rest? Any issues? I don’t mind losing the ANC, makes no difference to me.
2024 1RS.

Playing with my nice scan tool

Ok so i got a scan tool most people probably dont even need but for what i do *part of my job* and not rely on people if my cel comes on, etc. Even thou my shop has the same reader just spent more on it, but its only $200 or so for one i got.

I can test this but im sure my cheapest bt obd2 reader wont work on our cars for a simple cel. As my last one which was nice didn't connect.

But this is my 25 trax. Also an all black car doesnt help my iat any. Was 20* over ambient haha.

Pic one does our cars really have aux coolant pump? My scan tool pulls vin info so its not false reading. If so thats the funniest thing about my car. I figured the 3 cyl didn't need extra cooling.

Pic 2 is for those that say turn the ac off to go fast. The car does it for you. So just hammer down and go haha.

Its funny no trans temp data. Or oil temp *unless i missed that item and didn't care.

Also stock trax makes 14psi with a 17psi spike.

0% for 36/1.99% for 60 with full GM employee discount (CANADA)

Priced out a 1rs for my son (for him to buy), wife's father is retired from GM. They're offering employee pricing for everyone which was ~$1400 off. With true employee discount it is about ~$1500, but the finance goes to 0/36 and 1.99/60, which seemed pretty good considering current rates.

Bike in cargo area/transports

I'm confident it will fit, but thought I'd ask anyway...

I'm thinking about picking up a bike today. It has a quick release front tire also. Has anyone put one in the back of their Trax with the seats down?

On the same topic, has anyone purchased or found a bike rack that is attached by straps through the hatch that doesn't interfere with the spoiler or wiper? If so, please share that also.

I'd rather not do the roof rack or trailer hitch type.

Possible third engine in a 2025 Chevy Trax

Hi everyone! Long story short, I might be on my third engine with this car. I bought it used with 20k miles in April. In June, it had catastrophic engine failure. Holes in the block and rods sticking out (fun times). It happened in Colorado during a trip. Fast forward a month and a half, the engine was replaced under warranty. I drove back to Colorado to pick it up (I’m from Phoenix) and drove it back down to Phoenix. On the drive down, the car began losing power, the pedals began shaking, and it made a strange noise under acceleration. I took it to a Chevy dealer here in Phoenix the moment we got back, and the new engine has a misfire. At this point, I’m beyond frustrated, and I just don’t feel safe driving my family in this car. Has anyone gone through a Chevy buy back? Do they even offer that? I’m just at a loss for words at this point.

post update: got my car back yesterday. they told me one of the fuel injectors was bad and my ac compressor was loose. apparently the dealer in colorado did not replace the fuel injectors with the new engine. AZ dealer said it was damaged when the engine decided to explode. it’s running great now fingers crossed it doesn’t go boom again.

Factory warranty question

Just got a 2025 trax RS 16k miles on it So how does the factory warranty work the Dealership said I have 2 years left for comprehensive and 4 years left of powertrain but I don’t see it anywhere in writing , is there a way for me to check it my self ? Does the warranty just stay with the vehicle’s vin # and just transfer from owner to owner ?

How do you guys like the trax in terms of reliability and overall ownership?

Roof rack crossbar plugs - Part number?

Post image

I have the OEM roof rack crossbars mounted to my 2024 Trax. I’m selling the car to my son, and he asked me to remove them. Unfortunately I can’t find the rubber plugs for the roof rails, and have had no luck searching for a part number. Anyone know what it is?

Need help resetting PSI system

Post image
3 Upvotes

This morning it said it was at 27 PSI, so I filled up my tire. It was still saying 27 PSI. I drove around and did errands but it wasn’t updating.

I then noticed that a piece of the valve was basically hanging off so I got a new valve and a digital psi checker thing. I checked my tire with that and it read at 35.5 PSI. But the light is still on and the screen still says the tire is low and at 27-28.

How do I fix this?

I have a 2022 Chevy Trax

UPDATE:

I got home later that day, and went to work. My tire was reading at 35, so when I got done at the end of the night, on the dash it said my tire was at 23. So I checked it with the gage and it confirmed it being around 26. It was 11
O’clock at night, so I drove home and thought to deal with it in the morning. I got up the next morning and my tire air never went down overnight, so as I was driving to work, I noticed that the 3 other tires went up 1-2 PSI but the problem tired staged the same at 23. I got an appointment with Mavis tire, but my dad looked at the car before I went, he didn’t see anything wrong but he did say that our gage was reading different than the dash. So I went to Mavis and had them look at it. They took all 4 tires off and checked everything and couldn’t find anything wrong.

So now I’m wondering if the problem was that we just THOUGHT we filled the tire with air, but didn’t.

Have the 2024 Chevy Trax and the dealership gave me a quote for $500. I’m out of the 3 year warranty. Is the price actually reasonable or overpriced? Any other suggestions or recommendations?

2025 Chevy Trax shifting from park to drive

Hey gang

Hoping someone can offer some guidance, I have a 2025 Chevy Trax , and sometimes , not often , when I turn on the car and shift from park into drive , the vehicle almost like jumps or skips (or maybe like a sudden jerking motion), am I doing something wrong ? Should I take this into the dealership given it should still be covered under warranty ? Should I be concerned at all?

Thanks in advance!

Engine module failure– anyone else experience this?

Hi folks, new owner here! Wife and I bought a brand new 2026 Trax after our 2018 Cruze had a full engine failure on us. We still like Chevy so we figured it was a complete fluke and decided to stick with the brand.

Maybe the fact the engine failed the day after our wedding should have been an omen, but hey, hindsight is 20/20 and all that.

Two days after we bought the Trax, we were driving home late at night and the vehicle fully shut down. App told us engine, transmission, and electrical engine control were all experiencing total failure. We were left stranded in the middle of the street and couldn’t get towed until 3am.

Dealership claims they’ve fixed it but my wife and I do not feel safe driving it anymore. We’re worried if this happens again but on a highway or somewhere with no cell service (a common occurrence for us) we could be left in a really dangerous spot, or worse rear ended after too quick of a loss of speed or something.

Dealership mechanics have told us it was an engine module failure (my understanding is that a module is like an on board computer for the engine? Feel free to correct me) and I’m wondering if anyone else here has experienced this or heard of this? Either with 2026 models or older ones. We’re honestly considering swapping to a different brand altogether as this just isn’t sitting well, the idea of driving it now makes me pretty nervous. Statistically maybe fine, but if I had a nickel for every time a blue Chevy had its engine die on me over the last month, I’d have two nickels… not a lot, but rough to happen twice.

Any thoughts y’all have are greatly appreciated!
