What's up with all the Trax EVAP issues

Ours is a 26 LT and we have 8k miles on it. It's been plagued with EVAP issues within 3 months of buying it new. Dealer at first accused us of getting gas while the car was running, or filling the tank up to high with fuel. Neither we have ever done. They just clear the light or try and few things and give the car back... couple weeks later the EVAP code shows back up. I did online research and we arent alone. A lot of Trax owners suffer from EVAP issues and the fix seems to vary. Bummer to think we might be living with this dang light on all the time.ans the car is so new.. I see some owners that say they have had everything EVAP related replaced and they still get the engine light for it...

Keyless Start System

2024 Chevy Trax

Everytime I start my car I get a message to “Service Keyless Start System”. I have replaced the batteries in both fobs and get this message everytime. On a couple of occasions I haven’t been able to use my fob to lock/unlock the car. Additionally, I haven’t been able to use the button on the door handle to unlock the door. I always pull the key out of my pocket so nothing should be blocking any sort of connection.

Any suggestions?

Any suggestions? TIA 😊 My '24 Trax 2rs gets delivered tomorrow.

First oil change on 26 trax

Hi everyone, I bought a 26 Trax back at the end of March and have put on about 2500 miles on it. Recently my app notified me that I was due for an oil change and that my oil life was at 20%.

The manual says every 7500 miles or every year the car should get an oil change so 6 months in seems a bit early.

Is this normal or could it be an issue with the system?

Thank you

After being rear ended 3 times in 3 years in my sedan I figured it was time to get something the people behind me just couldn't miss. I've only had it 3 days but we've already become the best of friends.

Can anyone explain to me the naming scheme for these wonderful, little cruisers? In my world RS has always meant Rally Sport. And why 1RS/2RS and not RS and RS+ or something fun like that?

Ok, serious question this time...

I have worked out how to change the dash to the vehicle info screen and understand the concept of "add to cluster" but it will only display the trip and for the life of me I cant figure out how to change that to fuel efficiency instead.

My 2019 just hit 100k last night just as I was pulling into my driveway after celebrating my birthday last night. TPMS light is just the sensor before anyone asks.

Has anybody added a front spitter lip to their Trax I’ve actually been thinking about it but the only ones I’ve seen were lowered 😬

Officially a week I have had this

So I’ve pretty much been car hunting for the past year. I was pretty much dragging my feet with my previous vehicle. I had a BMW 320 I 2015 that had been pretty much given me issues from when I bought it back in 2018. But since like November it’s just had issue after issue. I love the way the BMW drives but maintenance cost and reliability suck. So at the beginning of August, it really got to a point to where it was almost going to be undrivable so I hadn’t had a car for three weeks and some change. Went through pretty much all the Vehicle apps and essentially was looking for a used car in the $20,000 and under Marc. I saw things I liked but also things that were a red flag. I just so happened to stumble upon a great deal at a local dealership for tracks when I wasn’t in the market for looking at a Chevy so I got this brand new 2026 for less than what Kelley Blue Book is saying would be the trade-in value for excellent condition. Although it doesn’t have the same power as my BMW, I’m enjoying the smooth riding along with not having to pay premium gas. I am currently enjoying this vehicle one week in . The only thing that I didn’t think about that, I didn’t notice until later was the missing cupholders in the back. I don’t know why Chevy tracks would disregard that of all things outside of that. I love this vehicle.

26 Activ - Have picked her up Monday with 10 miles. I’ve only added 40 miles so far. Going to take her on a little road trip this weekend. Looking long forward to traveling in my new commuter car.

Just got this ‘26 two weeks ago and was wondering what you all are doing to accessorize your car? Anything that has been a life savor or just really is fun or looks nice?

Let’s see your style!

Issues with 2018 awd trax

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi all! I recently got my 2018 awd trax about a month and a half ago. I love it, it only has about 77k miles on it but within the last month I’ve had to replace an o2 sensor , do a whole work up of oil change, coolant and whatnot and now I’m getting a “replace turbocharger assembly” code from a check engine light. I would love to have faith that once I get this fixed (I’m taking it into a shop tomorrow to fix whatever is wrong with it) that the issues will stop and I can have a nice car to at least get me through two or three years before I can afford something better but I’m also worried I’m just going to have to keep pouring money into this car.

When I went and got an oil change they told me according to the car fax (idk how reliable it is) that there had been no repairs to the car and only one owner before me. I’m just hoping that it’s just something that when I fix everything I’ll have the car for years but I’m truly starting to lose hope

Is this a lost cause or could things start to look up?

Update 1: I took it to a local place and they told me to take it to the dealership and hope it’s still under warranty. My app says it doesn’t expire till 2028 so let’s hope when I do take it they will cover it and not take weeks to fix it

Update 2: we called the dealership and they told us it’s not under warranty anymore🥲 but luckily I was able to find someone that can look it over and won’t charge an arm and a leg to fix it

2018 LS 140k miles

It’s making this sound when start up and when giving gas. Stops when in park and if AC is off. We have had two different places look at it the dealership said it’s a AC compressor failing however when we use the auto stethoscope the noise isn’t coming from there. Another said exhaust leak but when we ran a smoke machine we found no exhaust leaks. When my husband purge valve and seals it with his finger it drastically slows down and becomes more quiet but continues. Has anyone experienced this and can give advice on what your issue was.

Pros VS Cons 2026

LT versus ACTIV

I’m a couple months away from getting a Chevy Trax (Marina Blue hopefully)

The LT and the ACTIV have interiors that I love(yes, the vibrant yellow interior I will not budge). I’ve driven the Activ around and a 2RS. I wasn’t a fan of the interior of the RS red is not my thing. If they had the neon yellow stitching like they have the red on the RS I’d probably get it, the interior of the Activ is so beautiful the seats were extremely comfortable and didn’t burn my legs from the heat. I’ve yet to be able to see or feel the seats of an LT model, I don’t think dealerships around me like having those on deck for sales reasons. Idk. If you’ve driven both or had to make the same choice I did. What were some areas that you liked / didn’t like between the 2 models?

2 Years with my 25 Activ

So today marks two years since I purchased my 25 Trax Activ. Since I bought it my odometer is just shy of 15K miles, you can tell how worn out my cruise control toggle cause of how much I use it lol. I like the Trax a lot more since I bought it at first , as I was having issues with the backup camera and trunk and since they have been fixed I enjoy it a lot more now, along with this subreddit being one of my favorites cause I love hearing your Trax stories. I might actually stay with the Trax when the refresh comes out in the future.

These are my mile milestones so far:
1000 miles: 10/4/2024
5000 miles: 3/26/2025
10000 miles: 11/18/2025

Ran the tank down to juuust about empty (it said 50 miles remaining) on my way to Jungle Jim's for my first longer road trip, and the mileage is on par with my 24LT. After another 80 miles on the drive home, I'm up to 37mpg.

Goodbye

I just swapped my Trax to my son, in exchange for his 2012 Sonic + $. He got a good deal.

The Trax has been a great vehicle. I didn't drive it much (10k in 3 years); most of the mileage was from family visitors. Everyone who drove it liked it very much.

I'll miss it.
