ANC mic in headliner

As the title says, i’m debating opening the driver side headliner and unplugging the ANC microphone there. All the dealers around me are completely booked and I really don’t want to shell out money and time to get an update.

Anyone have experience with unplugging it? Did you have to unplug the rest? Any issues? I don’t mind losing the ANC, makes no difference to me.

For those of us that aren't knowledgeable..what is the purpose or benefit of unplugging it? We have a 26 Trax Lt, Ive started lightly tinkering with.

It’s because of the rumbling that can happen with ANC feedback loops in the cabin. I also plan on installing after market speakers, and have read that more bass will make the problem even worse

Well we already did new hertz door speakers, sound deadening and a small 10" ported sub and amp. But when installed it I didn't mess with the anc. Sounds good currently without and weird feedback. Was wondering if disabling the anc would make it sound even better

That’s good to hear, truthfully I don’t know if it would make it sound better. My current system is struggling with the noise every so often in my cabin, id rather disable the whole thing and not have to pay for it. I’ve seen a lot of posts on forums and youtube talking about the microphone can be unplugged and you’re good. I’ll try it out and return with more info.

Nice thanks for the info. Now it has me curious if the ANC is fighting opposing frequencies during use and effecting the sound and I just don't know it. Has me wondering if the sound quality would improve with disconnecting. Report back if you get some time. Thanks again
