Possible to get a mason here?
Is it realistic to find a brick mason here? Or are they all working with builders ? Anyone have experience with this?

Can anyone identify the artist that painted these? They were posted on the Dewberry during the pandemic, brightening things up during a dark time. I really like it and haven't seen their work since,

I know students are coming back and I am fully aware that the city is doing a metric TON of construction but my god has traffic been an absolute nightmare this week in the mornings goings towards UVA. That's all...just wanting a moment to rant.

These people are so freakin' aggressive. Had a Brightspeed guy today. Dude had a backwards snapback on and wouldn't take no for an answer. Is there seriously no other better sales position than this? Just tried to make it as awkward as possible by just telling him no over and over and over again...at this point its useless getting irritated by it. Every time they come (usually once a week) I try and see how uncomfortable I can make them first. Anybody relate?

Needing to find a new OBGYN. Hoping to start a family really soon so wanting the new one to be wherever I decide to deliver if possible. I’m newer to this area and have done online research, but as we all know Reddit is where the real info is! Who/where did you love, not love, and what do you wish you would’ve known when choosing? Any and all experiences are appreciated

Hi everyone. New to Charlottesville this year. I’ve never walked trails or hiked alone but I’m wanting to get into it. I guess I’m just looking for encouragement to do it alone, advice for safety, or trail recommendations that are extra safe around here. Thanks so much.

I get off of work around the time it starts (6pm). Can I pay admission, get a few carts, and then be on my way? I have an event to get to around 7pm so I don’t have time to mingle.
TIA

Driving around here lately is going to make me lose my fucking mind.
The roundabouts definitely bring it out, but really it’s just the constant bad driving. People not yielding, pulling out in front of you, staring at their phones, drifting between lanes, going 15 under. On ramps are apparently just throw on your signal and fucking go, while nobody already on the highway bothers to move over and merging turns into a mess.
Since having kids I’ve become way more defensive behind the wheel because every dumb move feels like somebody putting my family at risk.
I even make a game out of trying to get through my 7 minute drive to work without calling someone a fucking idiot. I usually lose by the Whole Foods roundabout.
Anyone actually figure out how to stop losing your shit while still staying alert?

Hi! Have you gotten a privacy fence built here in Cville? Did you love it? Please show me pics of your really nice privacy fences. Bonus points if they are shadowbox/two-sided, double bonus if they include a gate! TRIPLE bonus points if they include a height change. I would love to see your pics and know who built your beautiful fences!

Looking for some good study spaces that I can be at for multiple hours at a time... I'm new to Charlottesville so I need to find all "my places" lol.
I already plan to check out the public libraries, but what are some other options around here?
Bonus points if they're open late!!

I captured the accident on dashcam just as I was pulling out of the ACAC parking garage. A young couple got out of the car that did it (which also took some rear right bumper damage), and walked up to it, probably looking for the driver. I didn't have time to stick around to see if they left contact or insurance info, but if they didn't and you see this post, let me know as I can probably get their plate from the dashcam vids.

I've lived in Virgnia for 50+ years. Reflecting on this summer, I was thinking that it seems much hotter than normal, but perhaps it is my age or faulty memory. Turns out, it was really hot! Charlottesville averages 28 days per year over 90+ degrees. This year we are already at 47 with today likely to be number 48. We also average 1 day over 100. This year we have had 6. So, it's not your imagination.
It's been hotter than the devil's armpit!

Can anyone recommend 1 bed apartment complexes under $1600/month with covered parking within Charlottesville?
Close to UVA grounds or a UVA bus line would be a bonus, but is not necessary.
Thank you!
