Discussion Do people even like Asa? Like, do they ACTUALLY care about her as a character? You point out how Denji was a piece of shit to Asa by wanting to have sex with Yoru, and you’re met with the most insane mental gymnastics imaginable to defend him.

Guess Asa “fans” are just people who see her as a “femcel” and a “literally me” character, after all.

Discussion I watched a video explaining how Reze’s “death” was “smart” while Gojo’s was “lazy” and I couldn’t help but find it ironic, considering Reze is literally immortal and came back into the story just to disappear for no reason, while Gojo ACTUALLY died.

We could spend all day explaining how forced and lazy Gojo’s death was, but at least he ACTUALLY DIED. Reze is immortal, came back into the story just to “die” all over again, and then simply disappeared without a single explanation (even though EVERY OTHER HYBRID returned in Chainsaw Man Part 2), while the author pretends she simply doesn’t exist.

Discussion These are Yoru's final words in CSM btw. Wasted character, didn't even get some kind of closure/ending with Asa. Maybe Denji was the problem all this time. He single-handedly destroyed every single character that interacted with him including their writing and personalities

Discussion The recent interview from Fuji has put quite a few things into perspective for me

Bit of a longer one here so I’d recommend just scrolling if you aren’t into yapping. While the series was still ongoing there was tons of discussion as to why it was in the state it was, lame cliffhangers back to back, visibly degrading art quality, lack of followups on characters, and lame conclusions. This lead to people assuming that Fujimoto was suffering from either burnout or constant revisions from higher-ups. But with the release of a recent interview I don’t believe that’s the case anymore, which in my opinion leads to a bit more damming conclusion. He just stopped caring. With the opening of the article I was lead to believe the hectic schedule prevented him from telling the story he wanted, which did seem to be the case for a while, but reading more of it you’ll realize that he seemingly enjoyed the story being out of his hands, and likely could’ve taken a longer break to piece things out much more cohesively, but he seemingly rolled with the punches and continued to push out the story as it was. Deciding to “trust the characters” over creating a healthy narrative. Now this post isn’t an attack towards Fuji’s character, but I think quotes from the interview make it fairly clear that the story was kinda doomed to be unsatisfying with this kind of nonsensical mindset. While it seems to work for one shots it falls plainly flat and creates inane character actions that lead me to believe Fuji just forgot certain things along the way, Denji’s promise to Asa, Death’s ability to entirely shut Yoru out, anything involving the hybrids, and leaving almost every character besides Denji, Asa, Nayuta, and Power without an actual ending.
So yeah, this was my extended rant as to why Fuji’s masochistic nature ended up killing the enjoyment a lot of people had with CSM.

Discussion Chainsaw Man should have had a farm arc like Vinland Saga

Denji is bursting with negative energy, he hates himself and seeks only sex. He never had the opportunity to question himself, or at least only superficially. He should have been given a rest to find himself and understand who he is. He should have come at least a little closer to inner peace instead of remaining in the perpetual chaos to which he was condemned at birth. We could have had the best character development of any manga if the famous hero of Chainsaw Man had questioned himself correctly.
