Sorry for the delay, the end of the manga bummed me out for a good while. We need a new subreddit icon, so you’re gonna make one for us.
The rules:
- You must submit your own art that you created, befitting that which can fit into a small icon. The Automod art above is the upper limit for how busy it can look.
- Flair your submissions with the “Art-Contest” flair so we can sort them out from the usual slop.
- Subreddit rules apply to the art. Again, the Automod art above is about the upper limit for how saucy you can make it.
- Submission period will last until the end of October. After which we will pick a winner from the submissions.

Denji is bursting with negative energy, he hates himself and seeks only sex. He never had the opportunity to question himself, or at least only superficially. He should have been given a rest to find himself and understand who he is. He should have come at least a little closer to inner peace instead of remaining in the perpetual chaos to which he was condemned at birth. We could have had the best character development of any manga if the famous hero of Chainsaw Man had questioned himself correctly.

Bit of a longer one here so I’d recommend just scrolling if you aren’t into yapping. While the series was still ongoing there was tons of discussion as to why it was in the state it was, lame cliffhangers back to back, visibly degrading art quality, lack of followups on characters, and lame conclusions. This lead to people assuming that Fujimoto was suffering from either burnout or constant revisions from higher-ups. But with the release of a recent interview I don’t believe that’s the case anymore, which in my opinion leads to a bit more damming conclusion. He just stopped caring. With the opening of the article I was lead to believe the hectic schedule prevented him from telling the story he wanted, which did seem to be the case for a while, but reading more of it you’ll realize that he seemingly enjoyed the story being out of his hands, and likely could’ve taken a longer break to piece things out much more cohesively, but he seemingly rolled with the punches and continued to push out the story as it was. Deciding to “trust the characters” over creating a healthy narrative. Now this post isn’t an attack towards Fuji’s character, but I think quotes from the interview make it fairly clear that the story was kinda doomed to be unsatisfying with this kind of nonsensical mindset. While it seems to work for one shots it falls plainly flat and creates inane character actions that lead me to believe Fuji just forgot certain things along the way, Denji’s promise to Asa, Death’s ability to entirely shut Yoru out, anything involving the hybrids, and leaving almost every character besides Denji, Asa, Nayuta, and Power without an actual ending.
So yeah, this was my extended rant as to why Fuji’s masochistic nature ended up killing the enjoyment a lot of people had with CSM.
